Coach's Bar-B-Que

This place is a good spot in Mcgregor for some good BBQ. The menu is great take on a traditional BBQ menu. Pushing the limits on what a BBQ Restaurant is known for and I give them a lot of props for serving what they do here! Takes a lot to venture outside the box.

Onto the food....!

Most of the time when I order pork I'm disappointed because I have been spoiled on real pulled pork from the Carolinas, George and Virginia. Typically pulled pork outside of these states just isn't good. Usually having that old, dirty, stale pig taste. For the first time in a long time I had pulled pork here that actually tasted like a fresh clean pig that hasn't sat around too long and was quite enjoyable. The coleslaw was a good complement to the sandwich it didn't overpower it and the sauce was a nice touch. You get a little sweetness from the slaw and a little sour from the pickles and sauce which paired very well with their version of pulled pork. Over all great sandwich!

The white trash burrito is definitely a good stoner burrito. This thing is a sloppy good time. It is a bit of a mush burrito because the flavors run together until you bite into the sausages and it really breaks up the profile at that point. Then taking the next bite it's hard to tell what you're tasting. With that said if your hungry and need to satisfy the urge and you don't know what to order this is for you.

The chop beef is very good. Their beef is actually chopped not processed or pulled. The texture is what you would expect from chop beef and the flavor is on point. I think if they could catch some of those beef drippings in a bottle and squeeze a bit on these sandwiches they will be hard to beat. That little extra moisture with the sliky texture from the drippings would knock this sandwich out of this world.

The small house salad is nice because it's a leafy green salad not just iceberg lettuce. The ranch is the one we all look forward to when we go out to eat.

The Cobbler was amazing! Seriously! It has been so long since I had a Cobbler that wasn't so sweet you couldn't taste what you were eating. Every flavor in this dish was easily picked up! Making this my favorite part of the meal. If I wasn't so full I would have eaten 3 servings easily! Definitely a must try for anyone!

Also while your their pick up a bottle of that Felony BBQ AP seasoning they have for sale! I think you'll be happy with what you can create with these. Try them on everything!

Not a lot of places to choose from when eating out in McGregor, Coaches has always been a solid pick.
Pretty good BBQ and the sides are always on point. Overall decent price for the meal. Clean store, friendly service, what else could you ask for??

I got the legend with onion rings. the food here is AMAZING!!!!! wish I lived close to here. been so long since I could find bbq this good been. portions are huge compared to the other places I have been going to also. had to get more to go.

The single baked potato was very delicious and filling❣

A quaint, rustic western decor greets you in this BBQ joint. They have BBQ, salads, Frito pie, baked potatoes, and sandwiches...several varieties of each options!

Drove all the way from Ft Worth just to eat here. Always the best! However our food was cold when we got it and there were 3 patrons in the dinning area already eating. So im not sure what was going on there! My daughter ordered the side of mac n cheese and it was so dry from the steam table/heat lamps it wasn't edible, was a bit disappointed to see the sauces on the tables with no lids to cover the spout so there were flies going in and out of the opening. Not the greatest experience than what ive had in the past. But definitely worth another visit in the future

I tell ya what, this is the classic bbq joint! Rustic look, friendly people combined with good food. The aroma of the pit with the sound of chefs, cooks workin away in the back. I had the, fall off the bone ribs-literally. And the salad was my personal favorite. Not just boring iceberg lettuce. Plus the green beans hot and seasoned perfectly. People dining inside and out...been awhile since I was here last

The fried fish and onion rings was so delicious it was plenty of flavor and fresh It’s a 10/10 I will be back.

Great place for BBQ. Spices beans, brisket, ribs, you name it they have it. Out door seating. Tvs for sports.

The sandwich I ordered was really good .they definitely hit it out of the park .I will be back and bring more people with me .they were very clean and nice

Wow we were super surprised how good this was! Hobo bowl is great! Huge portions. I added chives from my sons plate and pick from my daughters but man it was good! Great find! Will be coming back.

Worth the trip! Best sides ever experienced at a BBQ place,
and they are made from scratch, including the lightly battered,
fresh onion rings. The only downside: they are closed on Sundays. Dessert is a bonus as well... cobbler. Friendly
service every time.

Food was hot, juicy, and plentiful. Really enjoyed the moist brisket and jalapeno sausage.

Place was absolutely fantastic. They do catfish Friday specials, however I went on a Saturday. They still were able to whip a huge batch of fried catfish for me and it was some of the best catfish I have had. Awesome atmosphere, awesome people. I highly recommend.

Great place in this town..great variety of food. We stopped here on our way through..so glad we did. My family loved their cornbread! The sauce they put on the homerun is amazing! Perfect place for a road trip stop! They also have outside seating..prices are great for bbq! Staff even helped with some travel questions and suggestions to a cool place to swim. Try the banana pudding!

AWESOME BBQ! If you’re passing nearby it’s definitely worth a stop! We ate the pulled pork sandwich, smoked chicken and had tater tots.

All was exceptional and not a single crumb was left.

Will come again if I’m ever again nearby!

I have traveled past this Restaurant for years. I have always wanted to stop but for whatever reason would just keep going. I finally hit the brake pedal and pulled in. What a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed the atmosphere along with some good BBQ. This will be a regular stop going forward as far as I am concerned. Give it a try I am sure you will find it to be very tasty.

This is the best BBQ I’ve ever had! Sliced beef was fall-apart tender and very juicy! Hand cut fries, ranch beans and Reg sausage with just a bit of a kick and three sauces to choose from, that will satisfy all the tastebuds.
