Fountain Cafe

My wife and I drove up from Poulsbo for the day to be tourists. We asked a local merchant for a recommendation. He gave us 3 choices and we chose the Fountain Cafe. It’s a block from the main road but worth the walk.

Wow. The food was fantastic. We had a great garlic and cheese appetizer, followed by a wonderful salad and finally an awesome dinner … but the dessert (the ginger cake) was to die for.

This place was really good. Very cute inside and the staff (Wendy) was very good. We will go back.

So more like four and a half. When I first came to this place maybe ten years ago was incredible still great but maybe a tad less salt. The stuffed mushrooms so goooooooood the pesto clams great specials not so special but the pasta and paella fantastic just salty but not too much to ruin flavor. Get reservations you need them and I will be back. Everytime I come this is a must go to place

We had a great dinner experience with friendly staff. Our group ordered an entree salad to share that was full of a variety of delicious fresh vegetables and the fresh bread which was served with herbed butter. For our main we had wild mushroom risotto, salmon with coconut risotto and greens and the seafood linguine special. The seafood linguine was the perfect pasta (highly recommended ordering if available!!). For dessert we had the key lime pie which was delicious as well. The entree portions were very large compared to what we are used to but everything was great!

Dinner at this place was a highlight of my trip to Port Townsend. The cooks here take their food with passion and care. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. We had stuffed mushrooms in lemon turmeric sauce and Bouillabaisse - both dishes are very memorable, the combination of flavors, textures and taste was absolutely fantastic. The whole experience was great-sunny room, yellow walls, happy food and good wine. Looking forward to come back

Cozy cafe in downtown Port Townsend really makes you feel at home. We went on an early Tuesday evening and they had several walk-ins and the place was full. Portions are great, and the complimentary bread with garlic butter is always a joy. I got the puttanesca and gingerbread cake for dessert. This is a favorite of mine whenever I visit PT. Highly recommend!

This place is absolutely amazing! I had a hard time choosing a dish, as the entire menu sounded so good! I finally decided on the pollo prosciutto, and let me just describe it in 2 words "mouth watering".
Talk about delicious!!! This is now my favorite restaurant in Port Townsend! Can't wait to return and try more!!!

This place is hopping! Make sure to get a reservation. We did not, but they accommodated us at the little bar where we had front row seats to watch the action in the kitchen. The food was fantastic! I had a glass of Chardonnay with my fresh, local clams in a pesto sauce. What a great combo!

This is a special place, like more than I can sum up here. The intimate atmosphere is beyond romantic, and the food is just unholy good, with an epic wine selection. The Moroccan Chicken with saffron rice is more delicious than you can imagine.

Everything about this place is so wonderful! The food is delicious, the atmosphere is cozy but also upscale, and it’s in a totally beautiful place. Great vegetarian options as well as meat. I got mushroom garlic pasta, kale salad, and some duck. The bread is from a local bakery I believe. The staff is great, and huge snaps for continuing to be so phenomenal during this insane heat wave.

Recommend calling ahead to set reservations as it is a smaller restaurant, and they fill up quickly! We went based on a recommendation, and they did not disappoint, but they seemed to be in a small rush.

The appetizers and our dinner was enjoyable, and we were pleased about the recommendation. We will return on our next trip to the area.

Was gonna give it 4 stars because it's a little cramped in there. Not much room at the tables. But, I didn't go there for the space to eat. I went to eat. Wow! The food was amazing!! I had the stuffed mushrooms and the Scotch Fettuccine. Even the prawns of my friend's dish were amazing. Zero negative feedback. I'm from Missouri. We don't get seafood this good back home. Incredible food!

Love, love, love!! The ambience is intimate and chummy with tasteful decor, cozy lighting, and a refreshing music selection. The food is exquisite and unique. We loved every item we ordered (between the two of us: one shared salad, two apps, two entrees, two desserts, plus a glass of vino) and I cannot rave enough about each dish. Service was prompt, professional, very welcoming, and friendly. The menu had loads of options. It's an endeavor to whittle down through all the potentially delicious mouth experiences to your actual, final order...we got so excited at how good the descriptions sounded. And ultimately, they did not disappoint.

I never want to eat anywhere else in Port Townsend ever again. Like, ever. So good. GO.

As a small business owner myself when I walked in here I knew we will have some fantastic food, great service and a new reason for me and my wife to ride here from Vancouver BC for dinner, thanks Nick!

Its such a cute little resturant right by the ferry terminal, me and my boyfriend had such an amazing time there, the food was absolutely delicious I had the bulliobasse and it was amazing! Mason had the Chipotle fettuccine and he says it was 10/10 we also split the stuffed mushrooms and boy were they mouth-watering; not to mention the fantastic service on top of it all! Over all I highly recommend it, I will definitely be eatting there again in the future

I found the restaurant using both Google Maps and Yelp. The place is thoughtfully decorated with beautiful artwork and a cozy feel. A nice menu selection with great care taken on my Gluten-free request. Dinner was an enjoyable experience with incredibly delicious food.

Fantastic food. Would recommend a reservation if you can. We had their lamb tacos which were perfection and so different than typical options; the Gorgonzola pasta which was delightful, and the special option of Turkey pot pie.

It’s a cute house small seating area but cozy and cute.

Family was in town. Never had been. Highly recommend. Excellent food, great service and a relaxing atmosphere. Asked the waitress what she recommends. She said everything is good. I believe it.

I made a reservation for 2, a day in advance. At that time there were only one table left for 6:30 and one for 7:00. So even a day in advance was cutting it slim. You'll want to do this also, as the seating is limited and fills up fast. You most likely will not get a table if you pull into town and think you're going to walk in or even get a reservation especially on a weekend. And if there is a festival in town, forget about it. While my friend decided she couldn't make it, I chose to dine alone. Always awkward for me to be the "single guy" eating alone on a Saturday night amongst tables of couples, and groups. You always get... "That looks", haha... HOWEVER, once the wine and entre came... who cares. The food is out of this world. I had the shrimp fettuccine. Huge shrimp and plenty of them. Fresh, done to absolute perfection, and the fettuccine was to die for. I've eaten here before, and absolutely nothing has changed, except for one thing. You used to be able to smell the garlic in the air from two blocks away. Didn't smell it this time. Could be new ownership I suppose, but nothing has changed with respect to quality, flavor and quantity. This is a must visit. They have an amazing selection of wines in all price ranges. And plenty of menu items to select from. I can't confirm, but I also understand they will serve vegan style as well. Go here, it won't disappoint. I actually forgot all about being "the single guy" once the fare was served. It is truly amazing. (Each and every time) with wine, food and tip about $40 range.

This was the best lunch we have had in Port Townsend! The Garlic Shrimp and mushroom sandwich on focaccia was absolutely delightful. Their special of the day was pork street tacos and pozole. It’s a charming restaurant with a great ambience.

AMAZING food!! Glad we called ahead to see if we needed to reserve - played off because it would have been a bit of a wait. And for good reason! DELICIOUS!! Waiter was super friendly and knows his food!
