Kettles Recreation Area

This is not a point A to point B trail. This is by far my favorite spot for a good hike and workout. Its a super fun area to set off and get lost. Its a maze of trails with varied terrain and a lot of elevation changes. The area gets its name from the large, kettle shaped features that create all the varied terrain. Most trails in this area are moderate or higher difficulty, and only a few trails that run flat. If you wander far enough, you can make it to the coast, and fort ebey.

Beautiful trails for biking, hiking and jogging. Perfectly maintained trails with maps. The trails are incredibly quiet and don’t forget the picnic lunch to have on the bluff watching the ships go by.

You can hear the highway, but this place is still really worth it. I found some rare ghost pipe, fortunately, and PLENTY of moss. I went right after some rain, so it was thoroughly enjoyable. Of course there was some stinging nettle, but jeans were a great choice. Easy access from the highway

Trails of every level and you can have exercise and fun because Whidbey Island Rocks is very generous with their hides for great finds. Best to have a map or you could be walking for a long time. Family friendly fun!!

I love walking through here. It isn't challenging but it's very peaceful and you can spend literally hours and miles if you want.
