Silverwater Cafe

We went here for lunch, I loved the clam chowder. It was so creamy and so tasty. Also had gyro, the meat was crunchy and delicious. Everything was fresh including the pita bread. The sauce that came with the calamari was delicious. Friendly staff, clean bathrooms. Definitely recommend this place if you're in Port Townsend.

Delicious lunch! Seared ahi and Athena Greek pasta. Very flavorful and fresh. Dessert was tough to decide as the choices all sounded great. We went with Amaretto Peach pie and Key Lime pie. Both were excellent.

This has been my favorite restaurant in Port Townsend for decades. They never disappoint. I got the daily ravioli and a Mexican chocolate torta.

We stopped at Siverwater Cafe looking for a simple lunch. It is definitely not that kind of restaurant, but in the best ways! Their french fries are the best I've had in town. I had their hand battered cod and it was amazing! It has a house made dill batter which pairs very well with their tartar sauce. My husband ordered the Apple salad and loved it! The portion sizes are generous and the staff are friendly and obviously supportive of one another, making the vibe positive and relaxed. Definitely check it out!

Wonderful, fun place. Very open seating. Good quality food with decent portions. Favorites were the salmon special with crispy skin and the house made cheesecake ice cream. Local kombucha was fun on menu as well. Lamb meatballs were good, just a touch over done which dried them out.

We found this place years ago and had the best grilled cheese sandwich ever. We have been back multiple times since and it is always delicious. Today we had their fish and chips and a half Cesar salad. BEST EVER! the tartar sauce was amazing, great dill flavor, same with the fish. The coleslaw was excellent and the Cesar was delicious. Love this place and will definitely come back again and again.

As you can tell, we love Pt Townsend WA. We moved to WA from Santa Cruz, CA in 1999 and missed SC as WA was NOTHING LIKE it.... until we found Pt Townsend. Bingo.... smaller NW version. We also located Silverwater so anytime we're there we go to SW. This visit was our Valentine's Night dinner.
It was even better than the last time we were there.
Reservation was set for 5pm... people are very friendly which is a bonus since there is a WA/NW freeze for non locals (like us).
It is a 2 story place with very high ceilings. We were taken to a table for 2 in the "balcony" area, bar there too. Pics attached show this.
Jacob was our server. He is excellent and I recommend you ask for him though others are superb too. We ordered the hazelnut crusted halibut and chicken marsala with angel hair pasta (pics and full menu attached).
It was the best meal we've had in a long time.
Ambience is very nice, paintings adorn the walls. Check it out.
Reservations are highly recommended especially for special days and/or long weekends, it is very popular. For Valentines Day like events, please make a booking well in advance.
At this time they are not open for lunch.
So please check the schedule on their website.
Parking can be challenging so arrive early.
Solid 5 stars and we highly recommend trying them.

We love SW. Great food. Try the Athenian Pasta. They also have glueten free offerings. Staff was excellent as was the owner. You must meet her. Let them know how you feel about this gem of a place in PT. Highly recommended.

A really nice vibe typical of Port Townsend with equally excellent food. Fried artichoke and steamer mussels and clams started everything off. The staff are quick and polite. My wife had the Chicken Picatta and I had the Halibut with saffron sauce. Both were excellent. The desserts were all amazing. The peach pie was my wife's favorite bite of the evening. My son's (the place is also great if you have kids) had cheesecake and carrot cake, and I went for the chocolate truffle tort.

Everything was amazing. Highly recommend and know we'll be back.

Great service, food and atmosphere at the Silverwater Cafe. The fish and chips were fantastic. They happily replaced the french-fries with a delicious fresh salad. My wife had the Tempura-battered prawns and loved them. She also had a hot tea that was served in a press. We will definitely go back again.

I ordered a delicious salad with roasted, yellow beets and a perfectly prepared salmon filet.
My husband ordered salmon fish and chips: not the best choice! The fish was heavy, greasy and a weak choice over traditional cod.
The cheesecake was divine: very light, with ginger snap crust, topped with a tart raspberry sauce.

We enjoyed attentive service, and the atmosphere was warm, calm and unhurried. Just what we needed, for a special lunch in Pt. Townsend.

We went in on a whim after another restaurant was booked out and I’m so glad we came across this place. Service, Marion - you were an absolute doll, we love you! Fabulous recommendations, Friday evening banter, and hospitality. The food matched the service! We started with almost pizza-like focaccia that was luscious and cheesy. Calamari that hit the spot and wasn’t breaded too heavily. My entree of fish and chips - I’ve never had salmon fish and chips, and daaaang. Packed with flavor, the breading was seasoned super well and the salmon melted in your mouth!

Marion was our server who doubled as the bartender on the upstairs section of the restaurant, and she wore both hats well! The special that evening was halibut with a lite cream sauce, and it was tender and tasty. My dining partner ordered the lamb shank. Although it was not his preferred method, the dish was done well. All around it was a very nice dining experience.

I came for the vegan blackberry pie and I was not disappointed. The crust is flaky and the filling is stuffed to the brim and primarily berries. I wish I’d ordered an extra slice for later. Best damn pie I’ve ever had. *chef’s kiss*

The lamb shank was to die for, the vegetables al dente to perfection. The lamb fell of the bone as per. The port was a little too acidic for me.
I would come back.

i love it here, i live in town and i have been going here since i moved here, which was 6 years ago. i go here with my grandma, every thursday, when i dont have school.
my favorites are the: for lunch, i love their burger and caesar salad, and i love their key lime pie for dessert.

Absolutely amazing! Staff are incredible, the Purple Mountain that was suggested was exquisite, and the vibe was perfect. I appreciate them having a vegan blackberry pie available. I'm excited to go back and try their sweet potato fries and shrubs!

Nice little place our waitress was nice and helpful. We had the Clam chowder, mixed seafood in a fish stock with fingerling potatoes and I had the French dip. The Chowder was rich, creamy and not to salty. The mixed seafood was the special of the day and it was fantastic. It had a wonderful flavor and the fish in was fresh so no fishy old taste. The French dip was good. The Au Jus was perfect not to salty or watered down. The Ciabatta bread was light and soft.

What a wonderful dining experience. Silverwater is nice enough that you can enjoy dressing up for a night out, but not so over the top that you feel uncomfortable stopping in for a bite in jeans.

The bar makes beautiful drinks, the artichoke dip is magically delicious and the entrees are tasty with reasonable portions. I hate when the entrees are so large you cannot also enjoy an appetizer or desert without loosening the belt.

Service was great
The cocktails were great with very thoughtful twists on each, recommending the old fashioned.
The Alaskan Halibut was amazing and the lamb shank. The lavender pepper ahi was too much lavender but still enjoyable.
The berry pie was the best berry pie I have ever had

A Port Townsend Classic. Great menu, geared towards family dining. Superb cocktails. The Fish and Chips, both Cod and Salmon, were as good as I've had anywhere. And the Strawberry Rhubarb Crumble Pie was outstanding!
