Bert's Red Apple Market

Classic exterior for a small neighborhood grocery store. They have a very stocked store for being small. It's nice to still have an older store, most are torn down. Great stop for a snack and a drink while spending a day at the beach or park.

Excellent customer service and they have a nice selection of produce and snacks. I wanted a snack for munching on later and they had one of my favorite brand of potato chips, Kettle Brand. Also, upon check out they had mini chocolate bars. Too cute! I usually buy the bigger size of these Ritter Sport chocolates which I’ve seen at Trader Joe’s, but it’s always nice to have size options. This is my first time seeing the minis for sale.

Been going here since the 1950s. Grocery is an Important business for any neighborhood. Bert’s has more than the basics.

This is a multigenerational local and family owned business that I love to visit when we work in the area. I've had the pleasure to work for one of the owners in the past and they were extremely nice, good people. In a city that has lost so many of it's small locally grocery stores (and other businesses), I pray this one doesn't close, too! The sandwiches from the deli are fantastic, try one!

The to-go food section might be even better than the beacon hill location. Love these markets. And though this place is really small and compact and has carpet! it's got great stuff and is in a great location.

One of the best parts about living in Madison Park is being a block away from Bert’s! For being a neighborhood market this place has everything and the people who work there are so friendly. Just the best!

I feel good when I shop at Berts! They are really friendly and always helpful! Yes the prices are a bit much but they also have great product and fresh selection so yes you can go to another larger beast of a market to buy cheaper produce that will rot in a day or two or you can support the smaller guys who have to stand up to tough competition and get much better quality products! It’s really a personal decision and what’s important to you when giving your hard earned money to any organization. Roger (aka Bert!) was recently awarded Grocer of the Year - fun fact - and from what I’ve heard from employees, this is a great place to work with some tenured employees of 20+ years! I feel good about paying a little more to support locally especially when the employees are being treated well! Overall, good quality product, good customer service, fresh selection of hot food daily, not overcrowded and annoying to get through, what more could you ask for? Other than lower prices of course but we all want that with everything so sometimes you have to focus on other factors than price.

Classic and charming store in Madison Park. This is the perfect place to go get your sandwiches, salads, sparkling beverages, snacks, desserts, and anything else you need for a great picnic at the lake Washington park beach in Madison Park.

Bert's is a small market packed full of high quality items. They have old school self serve deli cases for hot and cold food. The employees know most of the regulars by name. The 1/4 rotisserie chicken is very good for the price. Prior to Covid they had delicious self service soups. The store is kept amazing clean for the amount of foot traffic it gets, Seems like every time I'm there somebody's vacuuming. Yes.. vacuuming because the floors are carpet.. parking is tight and scarse, but turnover is fast.

It's located in a beautiful neighborhood, so they are price accordingly.
Fantastic customer service and if you need to get on the bus going down town the stop's right in front of Bert's Red Apple Market, they even broke a note for me so I could have the change to hop on the bus.

Bert's Red 🍎 Apples Is a secret little grocery store in Seattle Washington. It's in the Madison Park area. I don't even really want to submit a review because then everybody will go there lol ! It is a friendly family ran place and I've been going there for nearly 38 years. That's a long time.

Bert's is our neighborhood grocery store and they have just about anything you can need. They are a quick walk from our apartment so we often find ourselves going to Bert's to pick up whatever we need to finish off our grocery list. The staff is always friendly and willing to assist you in any way they can.

Love this local neighborhood store! Amazing meat and seafood, produce and friendly staff. They pack a lot of unusual variey in a small store. All at reasonable prices for the quality!

Don't let the outside dimensions of this store fool you: they are well stocked with quality products and food stuffs. The staff have always, always been exemplary in their customer services (and this is a quality on the decline, sadly).

Store is close by. Can find what I need and has decent hours to shop. Also sells flowers

Perfect place to pick up any Beach snacks, drinks, cold beer, ice and sun tan lotion. Just before hitting Madison Beach or if you are at Madison and need a quick beer run.

Great deli food reminds me of good home cooking definitely will try again and would recommend a stop just for the food

Flowers, wreaths, cut greens, bulbs in pots, lots of cool things in the outdoor garden tent.Brenda the flower gal is very knowledgeable and helpful.

Conveniently located by beach at madison park. Great prices on snacks. Hot and cold deli foods as well. Homebacked cookies at tje unheard of price 3 for 1$!!!delicious
