This place is awesome!!
My kids loved this sprawling castle themed playground
There are many fields to play on as well- set up of soccer, football and baseball.
But back to the park-
There’s a small kids section, which is excellent for the littlest ones, a giant sand pit to play and dig in, a wondrous maze of platforms and hiding spots, many swings, and an “obstacle” section with balance beams, monkey bars, rings, etc.
There’s many benches due the parents to sit on- and quite a few even have coverings over them.

My family and I will certainly be back to enjoy this one-of-a-kind park and I highly recommend you check it out too!

We LOVE finding another of these old-school wooden castle maze playgrounds!!! SO FUN and creatively layed out! You can literally LOSE your kid in five seconds though! LoL Our son had a BLAST playing here with other children and we were just passing through. It was very sad to me to see such a wonderful playground so poorly maintained and cared for though…. Looks like no maintenance or updating has ever been done at all on it since it all was originally built and installed!?!?

Nice big park. Has soccer fields a couple of shelter's, 4 baseball fields. But a nice cool castle boat pirate looking play ground with endless activities. Perfect to test out your parkour skills, play tag, hide and seek and what not. 2 different swing sets. My son had a blast

Lovely place to take my children to play @ the playground. I love going there to walk on their trails. I take my dog there as well. Great place to meet people and get your exercise in.

We love this playground. It’s a huge wooden maze. I’m a fan of anything not plastic, but this place has swings for big and little kids, slides, bridges, so much climbing, a giant sand pit, benches….did I mention it’s castle themed?

Martha rivers park appears to be a very professional. Sporting facility. Baseball Softball And soccer fields. Very well manicured taking care of. Games At night are nice the lighting is good. It's pretty nice to have a snack stand. Nice bathrooms. Batting cages. Just seems very nice and Family friendly. And that's like the Playing fields. And then is the park side of it. I'll show in the middle of all the field where the concession stand in bathrooms are there is A very nice playground. I believe everybody would Enjoy it.

I love this park. They have a section for babies and toddlers and a section for the older kids too. It is kept clean. They also have fields where you can play and a path for walking or running. There may be more fun things but this is what I have experienced. Love bringing my son!

Arguably one of the best parks Gaston County has to offer. Picnic areas, soccer, baseball, volleyball and a great playground for the kids. My nephew particularly likes the castle architecture. If you are a nature lover, the park has paved and unpaved walking trails. You might see some wildlife along the way. Hawks fly here frequently. The park is also located near a Pelican's if you need a cool refreshment.

Excellent playground that is generally well maintained. Always busy with kids. Baseball fields on site can sometimes get the place busy but even on those days there seems to be ample parking. There’s a paved walking loop around the property usually busy with joggers. Plenty of space to stretch out, have a picnic, or just walk around.

I wish I had come to this park sooner. It is beautiful!!! There's a lovely play area for kids. Why can't adults play in there? I admit that I have been tempted! They have two book stations on opposite sides of the park, one has plenty while the other is bare. There are atleast 2 covered shelters and a couple of benches with grills. And yes it does have bathrooms which are pretty clean! It's beautiful in all weather btw. The pics I've added are from winter!

Went by today (7-23-2020) after a stop at a nearby grocery store. It was very quiet and peaceful, not many people there.
Unfortunately, the playground is closed off for the children. Very sad. They need some fresh air and sunshine. You can get close enough to read some of the children's names on the tiles mounted on the walls around the playground. As a fundraiser, you could purchase a tile and put a child's handprint or foot print and their name on it, many years ago. Many local people donated money to help build the playground and now it cannot be used. At least you can look at the tiles...
Update: 2023: Park is open again and you can still look at the tiles.

We love this park! It is a good drive from our house, but well worth the visit to see the castle. We visited on a beautiful fall day, and caught it with no one there. There is an awesome shelter with picnic tables. The restrooms are always clean. The park and landscape is well-maintained.

Fun, clean environment. I loved the lil play area and the location was great. We were able to let the lil kids play and watch the big kids play ball at the same time.

One of the most fun playgrounds around for kids. They are open again during covid and there aren't too many people here. Great trails. No drink machines or functioning water fountains so make sure you bring drinks. Social distancing rules still posted ie 6 feet, masks, etc.

Martha Rivers Park is home to some bluebirds which are busy now laying and sitting on eggs! There are seven bluebird houses on the trail.
