Great pastries! Very authentic. The pain suisse is soft and yummy. Chocolate almond croissant is good but a little too crunchy.

To be honest, I am a true Top Pot doughnut girl; however, the apple pie crossiant is really excellent.

The filled doughnuts are not usually my favorite either, but again, they are really great.

I say if you're in this area to give it a try, and I must say I probably will be going back for the apple pie crossiant.

Favorite bakery in Seattle. Malasadas are just so good! Other pastries are amazing (sweet & savory). Coffee is good too, not sure where they get their beans from though. Walk up only, no seating. Good prices, got like 8 pastries and 2 coffees for my family today and was only $56! Not bad for downtown.

The Approach
=============
A block after passing through the Chinese arch of the Chinatown/International District in Seattle you will find Fuji Bakery, a small boutique bakery with a cashier window.

On my visit I had the Butter Croissant and the Pear Croissant.

The Food
=========
The Butter Croissant was nice and airy. The crumb was not "perfect" but it was still pretty good if being really strict in judgement. A postive note is that the croissant was not that sweet; more on the savory side.
Rating: 8/10

Update: After a second visit their croissant had a more even crumb and a killer buttery taste. See below. Congrats, you earned it.
Rating: 10/10

The Carriage
===========
White paper sandwich bags are provided to carry away your pastries.

Why were there no displayed prices?

Went Sunday morning! Free parking and hardly anyone there yet. You window shop and then tell them what you want through the open window. I got a blueberry and lemon curd croissant, a cream cheese danish an apple pie croissant and a latte ^_^ all so good
The blueberry lemon curd was the best though they were all so good! The pastry was so flaky and light. The cream cheese danish was different from the ones I’ve had. There was a small little square of full on cream cheese in the middle 😅 - would definitely go again - on a Sunday - in the morning 😂

Tried out each flavor of the malasadas (matcha, adzuki, ube, passionfruit, crunch cream, and plain). Fresh, amazing, don’t hesitate, get in that line, buy it.

My favorite was the passionfruit!

(한국인분들 여기 케이크 아주 괜찮아요! 추천해요!!)
This cake is so nice. I reserved strawberry cake with extra strawberry. I actually didn't expect that much, but it was amazing. When I asked to the owner of this shop about the taste and the fullness of strawberry before ordering, she answered I will satisfy with proud. She was confident, and I now understand why she said like that. It is most nice cake for me in Seattle, definitely satisfying. It is not that sweety, and cream is soft and creamy. Strawberry quality was fresh with sweetness. I will definitely visit this shop again. Thank you for my birthday cake! (One thing I request this shop is cake handling is hard. How about make a plastic bag for handling cake? It will make great response.)

Fuji Bakery's pastries are so good and unique -- perfect for a quick bite in Seattle's International District. The Beef Curry buns are incredible with a perfect combination of sweet and savory, and the malasada (sourdough donuts) are SO GOOD. We got the curry bun, passion fruit malasada, and ube malasada and everything was so tasty.

Love this Bakery! It definitely deserves 5 stars for how efficient they are for such a small business. I would strongly recommend to head over there pretty early because the lines wrap around the building. Also, be sure to get a dozen of their donuts because they have different and unique filling options!

Wonderful selection of sweets and savories as well as hot and cold beverages! I love taking a box to the office to share. All transactions are from the sidewalk which makes it kind of fun. Right across from Hing Hay Park.

Really tasty desserts! Was missing the Japan bakery experience from my trip there. Even though this is a small location and we couldn't go through with trays and tongs, it was still fun to window shop and get a box to go. The coffee was really good too!

This place is awesome in many ways. They have the most friendly and nice staff, fresh, delicious and fresh baked goods. No need to say Crunchy cream is the most famous but try other stuff, everything is so good! Since it is so good and famous i expected the prices will more higher that they actually are. Highly recommended but keep in mind that they very limited sitting area.

I picked up 3 egg sandos hoping it wouldn’t spill in my bag on the way home but they packaged it so neatly! The sandwiches were delicious, the egg in the center is soft and so is the bread. Will be back for sure :)

I love the pastries here! The pear croissant was to die for and I've definitely had dreams about it... The shokupan from Fuji bakery is really good and their sandos look good- though I haven't had one (yet!).

Fuji Bakery is a must visit in the ID for sweet and savory pastries. I visited around 9am on a quiet weekday. The person taking my order was really bubbly and thankfully patient as I tried wrapping my head around all of the options. After deliberating for a minute or so I chose the beef curry bun, fraise tart, and the malasada. The malasada was lightly sweet and airy and the fraise tart was good as well with the crispy pastry and the custard filling with the delicately sliced strawberry on top. The highlight though was the beef curry bun. I love Japanese curry so the addition of it to an fried Asian-style bun is a revelation. I believe the bun was fried and the outer texture was reminiscent of katsu breading. The curry was sweet, savory, and spicy like a typical Japanese curry as well. It is one of the best buns I remember eating. I will be back for the beef curry buns as well as for the other pastries I didn’t get a chance to try.
