Attended my daughter's orchestra performance and both the music and choir teachers were wonderful! The students did really well. They have all improved so much since last year! My daughter enjoys all of her teachers, even the ones who teach her least favorite subjects. She only has good things to say about them. She feels comfortable seeking advice from her school counselor all on her own, which speaks volumes at this age, and she is excited about possible future travel opportunities with her Japanese class. All in all, a pleasant experience so far, even after switching schools. Would like to see the school receive funding for field trips or maybe even an occasional science class in the huge park that surrounds the campus!

Great experience, many students who have gone here will tell you they hate it. On the contrary I had the time of my life at this middle school. If you have ever wanted to get suspended and not have to go to school then your in luck!! For example my good friend one day wanted to be suspended so he spilled some soda on me and boom not only did he get suspended I got suspended too! To be honest suspension isn't that bad you get to chill play Xbox eat sleep in it's amazing. Very effective at lowering the mischief that we cause. Also this soda incident was presented to me as a "serious disturbance". Seriously mad the janitor was laughing about it. The administration really needs to get replaced because over 90% of all kids I talk to said middle school was the worst experience of there life. As our other antics we orders pizza to the school and took a group photo outside, GOD FORBID A GROUP PHOTO, BECAUSE THE PHONES ARE A DISTRACTIONS, honestly have fun being suspended as a girl for wearing short jean shorts because it's a "distraction" My other friend went on the roof and suspended the last three days of school. Lastly a final friend ran through the halls to get to class and the security guard had previously caught him running through the halls he too was suspended. Kellogg believes by taking kids OUT of class it is in theory disciplining them by allowing them to miss classes... Very ineffective, on the contrary if you wanna see your grades drop from the time you missed class while sitting at home because you made a "bad" decision then from my experience from being suspended is very easy. The reason why Kellogg didn't work for me was the constant administration and there belief that by a strict and unreasonable punishment system; 2 weeks of lunch detention, suspension, lunch duties for almost any minor thing, that they are making you more prepared to high school. Not to mention dress codes but that's whole other argument I don't even want to start. Bottom line. If you have to go to this middle school be prepared the two years they will tell you that they are preparing you for high school, wrong. I had below a 2.5 my entire time at Kellogg and I expected to have terrible grades in high school, but with the more lenient atmosphere of high school a lot of stress was relived from me and my grades are now 3.8. Stick with your friends and fellow students and remember you got two years then it's off to high school which by the way makes Kellogg feel like prison. So that's my honest review #freethehomies

My stepdaughter goes to this school and she does well academically and has made lots of friends there. Very annoying ones but you know the deal.

At as current student at Kellogg I am disapointed in the way people are treated. Apparently me being upset about having no classes with any of my friends is "not a valid excuse." As someone who has troubles at home and my closest feiends are what I vall are my emotional support human. If I am having a bad day too bad. I have to try not to cry in the middle of class. If I have one of my friemds then I would feel alot more comfortable. My other problrm with this school is I have had a student following me for the past three years. The only "disapline" he got was a talking to because he is "a little slower." People with disabilities are still people they are awre of there actions. Anyways, he never stoped following me and/or making me uncomfortable.

Not a super great school. A system called peer mediation here consists of letting students who get in trouble talk out their differences or about their problems without the risk of having others such as parents know about stuff they did. However, half of the teachers resort immediately to suspension of some sort of overkill punishment for the student, rather than simply recognizing that no one wants to follow all of these rules at our age, and that kids should have a place where they are free to occasionally be off-task and not get into so much trouble. This would make kids love the school a lot more than they already do...

School deleted all bad reviews, called me into the office because I wrote a bad review and said I had to delete it because it wasn’t nice lol? Don’t i have some right to express my opinions freely, oh wait it’s the first amendment. My school expirence from 7th grade to 8th was not as exciting. The new teachers are very rude and don’t really make a connection to the students as of the teachers that have worked here for a long time. The classes can be fun but the teachers are a pain in the ass. Lots of racial slurs around the school graffitied on the concrete outside inside school grounds. The school promised a safe environment for students but still yet failed to stop 3 fights that happened in a week.

This school is trash. That's the only punishment that they have is lunch detention, but suspension is a relief for most. And further more, one student got arrested in January 2018. My friend got suspended for looking up "shrek jesus". Band is good, but we don't have enough stands for the final concert. And then our schedule is not with any other districts. And all the english teachers are boring! Learning the same thing that I learned in 5th grade again is soooo boring.

This school is honestly so bad. Dress codes is so stupid. Teachers are so bad and dont teach really anything, they teach us things we already know. We aren't aloud to do anything either, like we get lunch detentions over nothing.can't go to the bathroom thats in a different unit if you you are in lucnh or anything, like if anxiety kicks in you cant leave...from no reason. Councikers also suck.
