General Store of Minnetonka

I was greeted walking in the door. This is an inviting store with a big variety of unique items. The General Store is two levels of fun. It was beautifully decorated for Christmas. There were no lines when checking out even though it was super busy. Everyone was pleasant and helpful. I loved the shopping baskets to hold my items while I shopped around.

I miss living on this side of town just for this store alone! I always loved dropping off or picking up my daughter who use to work here.

So it’s always a must stop when I am on this side of town.

Especially during the holidays!❤ 🎄

The General Store in Minnetonka, off of Highway 7, is my All time favorite gift shop! My family knows how much I like their merchandise and often buy me birthday and Christmas gifts from there. I particularly like their jewelry, home decor, and kitchen products. I first visited the store 12-years ago when my husband took me there to buy me a bracelet; the store has been my favorite ever since.

The General Store also has a Café which serves a variety of salads, soups, sandwiches, coffee beverages, and desserts. My favorite lunch menu items are a large bowl of chicken wild rice soup and a popover. I strongly recommend arriving for lunch by late morning as the Café can get very busy and favorite items sold out. ❤

Unique and fun place to find unexpected treasures. Very busy store, but the parking lot is large, and it is worth stopping in, especially if you would like to find a gift for anyone. It smells amazing and different all throughout the store. Friendly employees are willing to help at every turn.

This is my favorite Christmas store and this year is no different except this year I took my mom on a shopping trip. She suffers from dementia and needed help to find and select gifts for her children. I bring this up because of the great service I received from a staff member who watched my mom so I could get the car. In addition, she took the time to show my mom the Santa display, which my mom was so happy to see. This worker made our trip special for my mom. I recommend this place for anyone trying to find that special gift.

I have always enjoyed this store, it's a great place to pick up a unique gift or if you're looking for something fun and retro! I purchased a lantern (snow globe) as a gift and within a few days stopped working. The problem was it was now in another state and I didn't know how that would be navigated. Kelly at the store was absolutely awesome, she found a solution that was quick and easy for us! The General Store still rocks it in my book!!

This has become my new favorite store and cafe! Gifts galore for anyone and you'll even find something for yourself! Christmas, Minnesota, kitchen, soups and dips, baby, woman's clothing, etc The salads and soups in the cafe were so fresh and delicious! We came back the next day for more!!

Great spot for knickknack items at fair prices!

What an interesting store full of all sorts of goodies. Since we visited right after Christmas their stock was down but still found several things we were looking for and had fun just strolling through the place.

A great store with lots of interesting nick-nacks, vintage toys and crafty type gifts that you really don't see anywhere else. It's a perfect place to find stocking stuffers and other gifts for that hard-to-shop-for person. Beware however, the prices aren't for the faint of heart, it is quite expensive. They also have a pretty good restaurant there where you can get made-to-order sandwiches, soups, salads and flavored cream sodas. Worth a trip if you haven't been, just be aware of the prices.

This place is the greatest. It absolutely demands a visit. And the popovers are the biggest. All the items to look at and purchase are too numerous to mention. Also visit the cafe.

A lot to see here. We had a great day browsing and shopping. Was able to choose many gifts for family and friends. Huge variety. They have a cafe was delicious food as well.

Absolute treasure of a store! Unique gifts, retro toys, holiday, kids games, MN items, clever kitchen offerings, jewelry too ....go check it out! Plan to move slowly and spend at least an hour. You won't go home disappointed or empty handed!

The store that has everything from delicacies, to sauces to kitchenware to decorations to jewelry to fishing gear to MN souvenirs & clothing to baby gear and clothing to books toys and games to women's styles you could basically shop till you drop and take a break in the Cafe which by the way makes delicious food. Salads, sandwiched, soups desserts and coffee... And the biggest popovers I've ever seen and go back to shopping

This is another one of places which I never realized was right next to me.
The collection of art work is pretty amazing, and you should be able to find something for any age groups. The staff in location is super willing to help you with any of your questions, and you will need their help to navigate the huge store.

Lilliana was so kind and personable, she helped me out at the Pandora desk area and is so kind, she deserves a raise.

Always such a great place for gifts/holiday shopping. Even the customers are always so kind.

So much bigger than I expected. This place is packed with awesome gifts for everyone and beautiful decor. The staff members were all very friendly and helpful.

Loaded with all kind of items that are irresponsible to take home or buy for a gift. Their diner has an immense array of delicious food and drinks to order and enjoy!! We can't wait to go there again.

Such a terrific place to browse and shop.
