This place was adorable and beautiful. We found the key box in the entrance awning, easy to follow instructions on the display (may be small for those with struggling eye sight). Our room, 1 bedroom suite, was wonderfully spacious for us and our dogs. The grassy patch worked well for quick bathroom breaks.

Kitchen was stocked with simple pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, cutlery, and such. Room had a massive closet for those who like to bring a few changes of clothes.

Our host was attentive and supportive of our needs, wish we could have stayed longer

Very unique rental property that I stayed at just for one night. Make sure you have a smartphone to simplify your experience at this location. Book online, you'll receive an email of check-in details and how to access the room key. You'll go to the box across from the office, enter in your code and a box will open with your access card. Once you get into your room, you'll be able to get a second key as a backup. The rooms are updated but you could definitely tell it used to be old apartments or a motel back in the day. The bathroom was located inside the master bedroom while the living room and kitchen were located on the other side. We were located closer to the street so we heard all the traffic outside, if you're worried about noise, look at the room map to see which rooms are available further away from the street. Rooms 201-207 are the farthest away from the street. There is plenty of parking where you can park anywhere. As this properly is all self-service, there is no staff or office to help you. Luckily, there is a phone number you can reach out for management. Would recommend staying here again, but get a room further away from the street.

This was the first time staying in a place that you handled all your check in and check out through text but I loved it! Easy peasy! The rooms are clean and spacious! They literally provide everything- cleaning supplies, basic dishes, ice in the freezer, box fans, everything! Parking was great. Laundry mat on site, worked great and clean! Will stay here again!

Very roomy set up. We had the corner room and it was nicely quiet other than some traffic noise. I did have a few minutes trouble figuring out the key pick up system. It is very slick, but I'm not sure it works exactly as described in the instructions. I kept poking and eventually a door opened and I got a key. I can't tell if it was the keypad instructions or the website instructions that actually worked. Maybe it was a blend of the two. The manager was very helpful in getting me a receipt for the nomad residency requirement.

The Sojourn was clean, quiet, and comfortable for our visit to the area. There are many restaurants nearby, and there's a grocery store just down the road too. It was convenient to cook meals (or pack a picnic for road trips). The location allows for easy access to the highway to visit the Badlands or Custer State Park, among others. I would recommend this to my friends and family, and I would stay again too!

This is our new must-stay place in Rapid City on our annual road trip back east. The suites are clean, modern, comfortable, and spacious, with better rates than a chain hotel. The location is good, even if it’s a little drive off the interstate.

We stayed 2 nights while visiting the Black Hills. Quality/price it is an excellent option and I would recommend it to anyone on a budget. We had a small problem when we arrived and they were super quick to not only answer our question but also found a generous solution. We would stay here again.

Such a great spot for the Black Hills. We loved it! The room was clean, and gigantic compared to other rooms for the same price. It was so helpful having a full kitchen, even for our 1 night stay. There was a phenomenal sunrise view from our room. The checkin, and out, were so easy and the owners gave plenty of instruction. They were great when I was booking finding a dog friendly room and responded within an hour. Absolutely amazing service and we can't wait to stay here again!

This was our first time staying at the Sojourn. I would not hesitate to stay there again. Clean; reasonable rates; close to a lot of places: to eat, grocery store, clinic, pharmacy, etc. There is a full kitchen too. And, it's stocked with dishes, plates, etc. And no 'mini-fridge'. It's a full sized refrigerator/freezer. Don't like washing dishes? There is even a dishwasher, and they supply the tablets. It's also right on Rushmore road, so it is quick and easy to get to all the sights. The only con(s) I can think of are: 1) There is not a staffed office at this time. However, there is a phone number that is monitored 24/7. 2) I had to wash the dishes, silverware and a pan that had egg 'remnants' on them. Now, would either of those things make me go someplace else? Not one bit. I think it's great that dishes, silverware and plates and glasses were provided. It saved us some money by letting us buy groceries and cooking some of our own food. All in all, I say give it a try. Right now, it's a 'best kept secret', but people are going to find out soon just how nice the Sojourn is!

Room was very clean. Comes with a full kitchen. Had all your basic kitchen needs pots , pans , plates etc. Cleaning products also provided. Very quiet rooms. Would definitely stay here again. Only con is the bedroom gets a little warm a fan was in the room and that helped a bit.

We are full-time RVers with a broken RV. We needed to find a pet friendly place to stay while our RV was being repaired. Thankfully, we found The Sojourn! It was everything we needed in a great location! Very clean and well kept with the best staff! Tommy was empathetic, accommodating and very caring to our situation! We had to extend our stay a couple times due to repairs taking longer than anticipated. I highly recommend The Sojourn to anyone coming through Rapid City and the surrounding areas! We were able to do a ton of sightseeing during our stay due to such a great location! If we return to the area without our RV, we know we always have a home here! Thanks so much for everything Tommy!!

The space was perfect for our long term stay in Rapid City as a travel nurse! The location is great, right in the middle of town, making it very easy to get around and see not only the city, but the surrounding area as well. He and the staff were always quick to respond and help during check in and our stay. The rooms are very well done and well equipped with everything you need for a stay. Laundry facilities and dog area are well maintained! Couldn’t be happier with our stay!

For a couple of Michiganders visiting SD, this was a great find. Nice, cozy rooms at a location that was perfect for our activities, this was an excellent spot. Truly felt like a home away from home.

The staff at Sojourn are all helpful, responsive, and friendly. The suites are big and comfortable. It's so nice having a cooktop, refrigerator, and countertop space--especially for a long-term stay. The location is great. The pet exercise area is very convenient. Highly recommended.

Stayed for a week and was extremely pleased. We actually arrived a day early and was able to get the extra night. Concerned about cleanliness I always wipe down surfaces upon arrival...NOT A SINGLE SPOT OF DIRT! My wet white cloth was absolutely spotless and believe me if there was dust I would have found it. Beds were comfy, tv great, hot water, clean towels...perfect. I stayed in suite 111 and would recommend it. One thing...about 6:00 in the morning the automatic sprinklers for the lawn come on so don't sit at the picnic table...lol got wet but woke me up quick. GREAT place.

We were very happy with our stay. Great location. Close to attractions. Most things we did and places we went were within 10-15 minutes. Rush Mountain was about 30 minutes away. Deadwood was about 45 minutes. Grocery store and lots of places to eat within blocks.
Check in was easy. You will get instructions to get your key out of a lock box when you arrive.
The room was very clean. We had a kitchen/living room, bedroom, and bathroom. Couch folds out as well.
TVs in living room and kitchen. I had my laptop with me and was able to hook that up to the tv. We were able to watch Netflix, Amazon, and Hulu on the TVs using the laptop. Nice if you want some downtime to watch a show.
Bathroom had a shower/tub. Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash were provided. No hair dryer so bring your own if you need one.
Kitchen had silverware, utensils and two pans. Also had foil, paper towels, and cleaning supplies. Full refrigerator. No oven but two stovetop burners and a microwave.
Bedroom had two beds, dresser and nice size closet. One bed was pretty sunken in but not so much you couldn’t sleep in it. Plenty of pillows.
We were by the laundry room but did not hear any noise from there. We did sleep with a fan but the room seemed pretty sound proof.
Few things to take note of. There is a window air in the kitchen. We left the bedroom door open all night to help keep the bedroom cool. However, the main door has a window and the bedroom will be very bright in the morning if you leave the door open. Bring some sleep masks if you like it dark.
The main door does not lock behind you. I don’t remember seeing that noted anywhere. Can’t lock yourself out but we almost left with our door unlocked. Caught it by accident when we forgot something and noticed the door was unlocked. You need to use your keycard to lock the door behind you. I would suggest letting guests know this. I think most people are accustomed to the door locking behind them. No big deal as long as you are aware.
We would definitely stay here again. One of the best places we have stayed in Rapid City.

Great central location for everything we wanted to do. Nice spacious room, would definitely stay again. Only complaint is the main road is so loud at times, but not noticable when inside our room.

Easy process, friendly people, and great facilities! I was able to get my laundry done and had everything I needed for a restful stay. I highly recommend this place and if I was here for a while, I would be asking what their monthly rate is! :)
