Happy Hollow Gardens Park

Beautiful spot. The azaleas were at their peak. A trail map would be nice as there seem to be several choices with some of them dead-ending. There were some large trees down across the path... one that had to be crawled over and another required a low limbo to pass under. Made for an adventurous day!

I have been bringing my kids here for 10+ years as well as coming solo for peaceful quiet time. We love this adorable outdoor spot. Of course we love it when the azaleas are all in bloom but love coming here year round for a place to wind down from city life.

Almost don't want to share this jewel of a park because it is so peaceful and intimate. Lovely benches with an overlook, and a picnic shelter next to a cascading creek..all in close proximity to the area parking- so a good place to bring Grandma and the kids...rocks to climb and a natural small ampitheater beg to be used for a creative family outing...not to mention spectacular "vintage" azaleas, dozens of butterflies and wildflowers. Please do not trash this pretty little place! And dispose of it properly in bear safe bins...yes there might be bears!

The beautiful flowers and endless beauty is just an amazing place to be in a must see!

This is a wonderful place that was donated to Roanoke County by two precious sisters who had spent so many years enjoying it themselves they felt compelled to share it with their neighbors for generations to come.

Winter hike was nice with wonderful views

Time it when the Azaleas are in bloom and it’s beautiful. Short little boardwalk path along a small gravel stream or longer wooded trails. Pretty but curvy drive up there, watch for switchbacks.

The trail are good specially if you have kids with special needs. So far after seeing the rattle snakes l felt like I'm so scared to go back. Otherwise the picnic are cool and the flowers!!

Wildflowers and azaleas are in bloom at the moment. This is a lovely local park with trails through the area and a small stream running along side. Small cemetery with founders marked. Blooms in the spring but lovely in the summer too. Lots of mature trees and birds abound. Butterflies and squirrels running about. Bat house near the amphitheater. Quiet and out of the way.

Very small park with a walking trail. I definitely wouldn't call it hiking. It is beautiful none the less especially along the azalea trail when the bushes are in bloom. There is a picnic area here and also a stage area. I would recommend this place to people with kids or people with limited mobility issues that can't go hiking. I also want to add this place has no view. So it's very much a nature walk.

Went mid-April and the azaleas were blooming. Great place for a hike or to take pictures.

Such an amazing trail. We live 5 min from here and come here wheneverwe want a nice little kid friendly short hike. We love this place and have even taken family pictures here

A small and nice loop trail and as of April 17 2022, the azaleas are in bloom with more colors expected in the next few weeks!

One of my favorite spots from when I was a child, this little glade boasts a picnic area with grills, a portapotty, bear-proof trash cans, ample parking, azalea gardens, a small babbling brook, and most importantly, serenity, peace, and quiet, only a few miles from one of Roanoke's busiest arteries. Be sure to come here in the spring as well as the winter for the peace and quiet.

Beautiful and quiet location. It isn't far from the Keagy Village area but you'd never know by the ambiance. It has a picnic area, walking trails and small amphitheater. A hidden gem within the Roanoke park system.

It has nicely maintained trails and paved parking. The trails are not paved.
