Elm Coffee Roasters

All of the coffees they serve are roasted in the back room. They roast Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, and there are large viewing windows to see the action. Cupping and brewing classes are held in the back area.

I tried two different coffees. First was spiced coffee, it was amazing!!! I was afraid that it might be to sweet, but it is actually not. The sweetness is perfect.
And I tried one and one. If you want to taste their coffee bean original teste and also want a macchiato, it is a good option.

My go to spot for espresso & take home beans. When I was dining, in a man who was experiencing homelessness came in with not enough money for a coffee and the barista still gave them a cup of coffee and treated them like any other customer. The man joined me at my table for a while, it was a very cold day and the barista gave him multiple warm ups on his coffee too. Pioneer square is often stigmatized and it’s great to see a business treat their neighbors with dignity and respect. I’ve been coming here since 2018 and am a proud customer!

I came here with my boyfriend expecting it to be good. It exceeded expectations though. We wanted a cold brew, but they did not have it. We got an iced coffee instead. Normally I don’t like iced coffee because it tends to tastes burnt. This was delicious and smooth like a cold brew though. The staff were chill too. I highly recommend it.

Amazing coffee, amazing atmosphere. Highly recommend the house espresso! The americano was perfection.

Cool spot for coffee, even though they don't offer wide selection in terms of filter drinks - they make it up in kind service and atmosphere.

Had an hour to kill. Came to this shop. Prices are great! Customer service was top notch. Coffee has amazing flavor. Would come again & would recommend to anyone in the area!

Cozy little coffee shop/roaster with a friendly vibe and great aesthetic. Flat white and an oat milk latte for the parents, milk steamers — one chocolate & one vanilla bean — for the kids. Plus one AMAZING chocolate chip oat cookie we all fought over! ⚡

I've honestly never been to the shop, I always order their coffee online. But for all the amazing roasters out here in WA I've tried over the last 10+ years, I think Elm roasts the best damn coffee around! They always deliver interesting and complex varietals you cannot get elsewhere.
I've had to rebalance my entire financials to be able to drink Elm coffee every day, though.

This place rules. Everyone that works there is chill and kind. The One Of Everything is an affordable way to try the different offerings. And a bag of beans gets you a free cup of filter coffee which is pleasant. The pastries are from Sea Wolf, I think? And always great.

If you like rich, earthy (but not super bitter) lattes, Elm is THE best place in Seattle. Their main blend has a velvety mouth feel and strong cocoa notes. The shop is really just the front half of the roastery, so you get to see the business actually operating around you.
It's not the sort of coffee shop that's ideal to hang out in for hours and work or read - it is a bit too small, and a bit too busy, for that. But it's great for sitting and enjoying the delicious coffee you ordered!

Awesome coffee roaster that is always dialed in. Great place to get fresh beans or just vibe. Good pastries. Food menu could be stronger but overall solid shop!

No upcharge for alternative milks!! That's fantastic. It's the little things that set coffee shops apart. My mind was blown when I was told there is no extra charge for oat milk. I'm not a coffee drinker but my chai was on point. This is a cool quiet cafe I stopped in on a rainy Seattle day. I was a fan of the overall ambiance of the cafe.

Best almond milk latte I had during my time in Seattle for ECCC 2024, place felt very welcoming and the croissant was very good as well.

Great quality self-roasted coffee and nice environment for work or study. Their Wifi is pretty stable and fast. The cappuccino I orded taste a bit sour and smell good. However their latte doesn't taste the sour I have in cappuccino. The latte is smooth, not sour, not bitter, it is what I like for daily regular drink.

I'm visiting Seattle this past week and I've been to a different coffee spot every morning. This one is my favorite. The space inside is not too big. It's not too crowded. The latte was excellent, had that nice aromatic lightly roasted after taste. And on a hot day their strong ac made it very comfortable. The service was really nice too.

A nice, peaceful spot to hang out at in the afternoon. I just went for a simple latte and it was very nice. Decent amount of seating, I really liked my spot by the window. Good people watching as they go in/out of the flatstick pub next door, and there was a little photoshoot going on at the graffiti wall across the street. Would definitely return when I'm in town again.

Excellent coffee and precision in making each drink. Friendly staff willing to chat and give recommendations.

My order, a flat white latte.. as it comes. Excellent quality and taste. They make a good traditional latte. My wife got an iced vanilla latte made with house vanilla syrup. Not as sweet to her taste but she enjoyed it!

One of my favorite lunchtime coffee spots to meet a friend! My lattes are always hot and pretty. I always appreciate so many small tables, there’s always at least 1 open!

Tried several places during my visit to Seattle, and this was by far my favorite coffee roaster. Had the "One and One" (espresso and coffee - black) and a hazelnut milk latte. Loved the coffee which was their Kenya Kiunyu beans, and I took some beans home. The latte was also great. They make their own hazelnut milk and it's wonderful. Sad I don't live anywhere near it, but looking forward to my next visit.
