Sandtrap Tavern

Had a delicious breakfast at the Sandtrap served by Ann at the bar. Great service, great food, great prices. Check ‘em out!

Enjoyed lunch here this week—great service, delicious sandwiches, and reasonably priced. I had the Jerky Turkey and my husband had the BrieLT with onion rings. Found out they also do breakfast, so we came back this morning and checked it out. Again—great service, good prices, and a yummy breakfast. I got a La carte eggs, bacon and fruit cup—my husband got the Big Boy! A little bit of everything! He really enjoyed it.

My only criticism is that if you've not been there before, the signage to know what you're looking for is easily overlooked. It, at the time of writing, is a blue vinyl that blends into the building siding with light lettering. We honestly didn't see it until we turned around and came back the other way. It may be that the focus is on the golf course and not the Tavern part and it's just a note to folks looking.

Had the cheesesteak, after a long morning of medical procedures. The meat was well seasoned, thin, cooked well. Even the onions and peppers were soft without being mush and not overpowering the sandwich. The choice of bread was even an impressive compliment to the whole thing.

It is currently the start of off season, so it was pretty empty. Food came out fast. Waitress was pleasant. All and all a good experience and kind of disappointing that I've lived here so long without realizing they were here

You could almost come to the restaurant instead of golf or do both! Great spot, bartender Teresa is awesome!

What a hidden gem! The wife and I were driving around trying to find a spot for breakfast. Every place was packed and 1.5 - 2 hour wait. We found the Sandtrap Tavern and it did not disappoint. The staff was awesome and the food was delicious. Highly recommended if you don’t want the wait time.

My boyfriend and I visited the Sandtrap Tavern recently for lunch on a week day. The restaurant was not terribly busy as most people were still out on the golf course. Staff was very friendly and attended to us with great service. Food was delicious! Great menu selection, it was almost hard to choose. I wanted something simple and ordered the club sandwich; 10/10 recommend.

The burger and fries were good but they have no turkey burgers.

Good lunch place. Not fancy, but everyone serving you wants to make sure you have a great time. Windows overlook the first tee of the Sea Scape Golf Course, there are plenty of TVs on sports, and you'll have a great time. Go!

Ate at bar excellent service, food best I have had so far in the area, Korean beef egg rolls very nice and light wrapper and tasty. Salads fresh and large, fresh catch puppy drum, broccollini, cous cous, with smoked tomato coulis awesome, thanks for a great experience, Recommend reservation if sitting in dining room

I've tried multiple places for steamed shrimp while I am down here on vacation and this place had by far the best shrimp

My husband and I went to Kitty Hawk to do some wedding planning in February, stumbled upon Shipwrecks, and LOVED the food. We immediately got the phone number of the owner to see if we could set up our Rehearsal Dinner with them. We ended up connecting and having our Rehearsal Dinner at the Sandtrap Tavern, since the owners own both places. Both ourselves and our guests were very impressed with the food and service.The food was absolutely delicious! Teresa was excellent and even did some personalized decorations that we requested in order to make the night exactly what we were looking for. We highly recommend you reach out to her for your party needs!

We were looking for a eat in pizza spot and had no luck after stopping at 3 places who ended up with closed dining rooms. The burgers were great, the kids were happy, my wife enjoyed it. Nice view of golf course.

What a great place to get a bite to eat before, after or during a round of golf. Or just a nice place to go hang with a couple of friends. We went after playing golf (15 of us), they easily accommodated us. Staff was friendly, service was fast and the food was really good. I had the shrimp tacos, highly recommend, very tasty. They have a good selection of drinks also. Will return when in the area.

Was stay @ sea scape villas & golf, so went to enjoy time at sandtrap. Nice size, easy prk, good food.

I wanted to try this restaurant due to the good reviews, but I could not get anyone to help me. I was ignored. I finally fetched a menu myself, and decided what I wanted, but still not acknowledged. 4 employees appeared to be on the patio socializing with each other and one female employee at the bar socializing with a patron. Perhaps I’ll try again. Disappointing.

I tried the restaurant again several weeks later around mid-day on a Saturday. Much better luck. I got a very helpful waitress and had the fried fish. It was a huge portion cooked just right.

Service was great. Lillian the cook even came out to check on us during the meal. Top notch!

Great local spot. It's at the Seascape Golf Course. If you're here, you're local but even its outsiders are felt warm and welcome. We were attended to by the OG, Amanda, whose sparkling personality is only eclipsed by her service to us customers. Fast, efficient, and lots of fun. The burgers are to die for and breakfast before our round of golf was fantastic. Do come by if you're looking for low key, down-to-earth atmosphere, great food, excellent service, and a damn fine meal. It's as no-risk as you can get.
