Ocean Boulevard Bistro and Martini Bar

My wife and I were staying at a place a few blocks from the restaurant and the owner of the unit we rented spoke highly of the place so we decided to check it out. We were not disappointed. Drinks were excellent. Probably one of the best Old Fashioned I have had. We got the Fried Green Tomatoes as an app. Never had these before but they were very good and a good portion size to slit between two. My wife wasn’t too hungry so just got crab bisque for dinner which was very good. I got Grilled Angus Beef Tenderloin. It was cooked perfectly and was very good. Both of us did get dessert and both were also very good. Definitely recommend as a stop if you are in the area.

As always we love to share a family dinner here each year for our vacation. I personally would like to see some new options on the menu as it hasn’t changed in years. They do add some specials, but a change up on main menu is overdue. The food is delicious and desserts are beautifully presented and yummy!

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! We went several times during our visit to Kitty Hawk, as did our kids . The service is excellent. The bartenders and wait staff are just fun to talk to. I’ve never seen this level of collaboration and coordination between wait and kitchen staff. The martinis are really good to fantastic. Luke was our bartender each visit and he is a excellent at his craft. Anya like other staff, was full of smiles.
Oh, and The sazarac martini is quite good.

As for the food, everything is portioned generously, and tastes fantastic. The steak, fish, bisque, tuna, …. All of it was tasty and filing.

Highly recommend this restaurant. It os frankly one of the best managed and , from an operations perspective, best run restaurants I have ever visited .

Ocean Boulevard is such a great place to dine. The staff is attentive, friendly and professional. In addition to the daily specials, their menu has seasonal rotations, so there's lots of variety. They always offer at least one main dish that's vegetarian and have lots of great side dishes, so they can accommodate groups with varied preferences.

Last night, we sat at the Chef's Counter. What a treat it was to watch the various items being prepared and plated!

We enjoyed the New York strip steak and the seared scallops over risotto. Both were generously served.

We only get to the Outer Banks in April and October but always leave a night open to dine at Ocean Boulevard.

It's the best restaurant in Kitty Hawk and it may be the best in the OBX. Reservations are recommended! Try one of their fantastic martinis to start. I had a rye Martini, myself.

App was the crab bisque: delightful

Entrée was the Faroe Island salmon with fiddleheads (that's from a fern!)

Dessert was the gateau.

Todd was our server and he's an old hand. We were very happy.

Five-star experience all around! First time sitting at the "Chef's Table" which was an open view into the kitchen. Was able to catch all the aromas and see all the delicious food plated with phenomenal expertise. The martinis were tasty and crafted to excellence.

Delicious dinner at Ocean Boulevard Bistro. I had the beef tenderloin with rosemary potatoes and fresh green beans topped with a mushroom wine reduction glaze. My mom had the pan seared scallops with risotto and veggies with a pretty orange sauce. We finished with sharing a their house made pastry of the night which was a coffee cake with home made hazelnut ice cream. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. The waitress was very accommodating to food requests and very friendly. It is recommended to have a reservation because they fill up quickly. Overall a great dinner so much so; that no one went home with leftovers because we enjoyed it so much.

This was a most delightful meal and experience ! The food was well crafted and presented including some lovely surprises like Apple cider sorbet ! Our server was very knowledgeable and pleasant . The ambiance is inviting and romantic and we would recommend it highly .

We had a fantastic New Year’s Eve dinner here. They had a prix-fixe menu that was $90 pp or $130 pp with wine pairings. The menu offered a lot of options for different types of eaters, and everything was paced very well. Our server was attentive and checked in regularly to make sure we were having a good meal. From start to finish the 5-course dinner was both impressive and delicious. Ocean Boulevard especially stood out to me because it is one of the few places in the area where you can actually make an online reservation - most places around here do not take reservations, and places fill up quickly due to the constant stream of tourists. I would recommend this place for an upscale dinner and would love to come back!

Standards are very high here. Every aspect of a night out is spot on. Seated exactly on time. Waitress was very charming and knowledgeable. Cocktails, OB Sazerac, was off the charts. We got specials, a soup and a mahi with grits that were both outstanding. And we split a dessert that was perfect. And OB is kind of a bargain cost-wise. It’s not cheap but as compared to other restaurants of similar achievements it’s not over the top in price.

We’re never disappointed when we dine here. Last night was no exception. Friends were with us, who not only had never been to Ocean Blvd … this was their very first time in OBX! As ever our food was delicious and our waiter Brian was outstanding. Thank you to Brian who helped make our friends first dinner at OB fun and memorable.

Nice views and great service. Dedicated parking and you are able to make reservations over OpenTable. There's a solid wine list and there are daily specials available. One thing I liked is that their fish was on the special menu and not assumed to have part of the regular menu. That lets them curate the dishes based on what they have fresh. We had scallops, steak, duck, and halibut. Photos of each dish are attached. There is a very unique seating situation upstairs, but it all works out. Would definitely go back and highly recommend.

Such a great find. My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Ocean. The staff was very friendly. Our server, Brian, was great. The pace was nice - not too fast and not too much of a wait. I appreciate a slightly "slower" service for the types of food prepared at a restaurant such as this one. The menu was varied enough, but not too overwhelming. We ordered the pork belly appetizer, the duck entree, the scallop entree, and the cookie and ice-cream special for dessert. The pork belly was good, but nothing to write home about. The duck and scallop entrees were an entirely different story. They were delicious and prepared perfectly. Not too many restaurants serve duck, and the ones that do sometimes do not prepare them properly - rendering duck too "gamey," overcooked, or the accompaniment jarring. The duck entree was perfection. My husband's scallops were "buttery." Cooked perfectly, and not overcooked/undercooked, which is easy to do with scallops. The dessert was spice cookies and cinnamon ice cream. It was a lot spicier than we would have liked, and the cinnamon ice cream had a taste that reminded me of Big Red. Bummer because I love cinnamon, but this was a bit too much. Overall, we would drive the hour and 45 minutes just to eat here again.

My Rack of Lamb was delightfully minty and perfectly seasoned. I recommend the the oyster-mushroom pasta, substituted with a Filet Mignon in place of the usual bone-in chicken (you won’t regret this). This Boulevard Bistro is truly wonderful.

WOW! A GEM! WHAT A PERFECT DREAM COME TRUE!!! Made a 4th of July reservation & they kept the outdoor seating open for us. To who ever reads this, I TRULY want to THANK EVERYONE for making today extremely amazing for us. From the 2 very kind hostesses, to the friendly waiter, to the incredible chef & the understanding manager. I have not enjoyed a meal & a place like this from start to finish in a long time. The bisque was creamy, the steak was really juicy, the shrimp & grits freshly grilled, the white chocolate creme brulee was the smoothest I've ever tasted! Everything was AMAZING the entire time. Can't thank you enough. REALLY VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Had a wonderful first experience here. Right next to the beach! Seafood dishes were amazing. We had two signatures dishes recommended by our informative & kind waiter Jeff. Thank you all for a great birthday dinner!

Great place to eat dinner! It was our first time there. We thought the restaurant was nicely decorated, the atmosphere was warm and romantic, the menu was creative, and the food was absolutely excellent! High quality, fresh ingredients and cooked perfectly, to say the least. They also have an extensive wine list. Ocean Blvd is a little pricey, but it's WELL worth the money. We will definitely be back!

Excellent experience! The food was very good, the staff was nice, and just a nice and satisfying time. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an upscale, but semi casual meal. I would highly recommend reservations as far in advance as you can manage-- as in, days in advance, so you can get a time that you want. Either way, 5 stars, no question.

Every bite was perfection. Really - you have to try this place. Jeff was our server and helped us navigate the martini menu and then the dinner menu - thank you Jeff! The owner was the chef the night we went. I love myself some lamb chops, I order them almost every time I go out to eat, but these chops were memorable. Not just because they weren’t gamey but because they were also tender and perfectly cooked med rare plus. The sides complimented those gorgeous chops so beautifully. Winter vegetables aren’t necessarily special, but some how carrots, parsnips, potatoes, and onions never tasted so good. The sweet potato cake was good to the last bite. But that red wine mint reduction that pulled it all together stole the show.
My hubs had the duck - cooked med rare. Super tender, not gamey at all, served on a bed of wilted kale with cherries and lightly dressed that was absolutely exquisite and addictive. Yes! Kate can be addictive. The duck had just a hint of truffle and it was just the right amount. We finished dinner off with a white chocolate creme brûlée. Do I really need to describe the balanced sweetness with the burnt sugar and the signature creaminess that a really good French creme brûlée is known for? I didn’t think so. By the way, before I close - the martinis here are REALLY good. Try the Rosy Cheeks - it’s an OBX winner for a reason. Although the Vesper….mmmm it’s pretty dang good too. Don’t go to OBX without hitting this place!
