Kitty Hawk Woods Coastal Reserve Dedicated Nature Preserve

Nice and quiet. I recommend it if you are in the area.

North Carolina has miles of beautiful coast lines. Kitty Hawk is just one section with state and national parks. Good food and plenty of public beach access. Something to do for everyone of all ages and intrest.

Sandy Run park right off of Woods road has a really nice nature trail with some great examples of some of the more common local plants as well as some great fishing spots. If you have small children bring some turtle food and you can feed approximately 200 turtles in the summertime.

Nice easy walk. Most is on an elevated walk way and would be great for those with disabilities. Ive gone many times and seen thousands of turtles, herons, raccoons, lizards, etc

It was on a Sunday and I had lost the rest of the Convoy. I decided to pull over rest and have a smoke and charge my phone. The car rental USB charger was no good so I found a outlet at Kitty Hawk Woods to get enough charge to call and find out where they were. I looked around and realize that I was at a nature reserved. Not much to say about it since it was closed.

Very peaceful walk. There is plenty of room to allow for 4 year old to run ahead and still have sight of him.
Pathed path. Boardwalk and gravel dirt road. Several different paths to choose from. Picnic tables were there in the shade so we were able to have our lunch there. You would never know that such a wooded tranquil area is just minutes driving to the ocean.

Great place to stay while enjoying our time at the obx. Even though we weren’t too far from the beach, it felt as if we were camping in the woods!!! I’ll definitely be back to stay and enjoy the beauty that this area has to provide. Love how you’re centrally located between corolla and nags heads.

After initial hiccups, that were professionally and graciously corrected by Ken the manager. Through no fault of their own, the management was left hanging by contractors. Ken handled it by going above & beyond what could be expected (I won't go into in detail).

Got to feed the turtles left over bread from the week.

A great place to see nature. Lot of turtles in the lake, as well as fish and crabs. The boardwalk is great and it's always a fun time.

It is a beautiful place that will reconnect you with nature. I will visit again and I hope to bring friends that will appreciate the beauty of the swamp like forest.

As part of our anniversary, my wife and I found this area to relax, cook on the grill and enjoy the atmosphere. Very clean, peaceful and uncrowded place. Nice nature trail to view wildlife and catch and release bass and catfish. Plenty of turtles looking for you to feed them.

Very nice to stay if you like the quiet off the beaten path place. They have everything from fishing to large outdoor pool to great indoor water park for those gloomy days. Only a few minutes to the beach, golf, shops and restaurants. Very clean area.

The rooms were amazing and quiet and surrounded by Nature. I love the fact that there was a indoor water park since we went in winter time. They also had a fitness area and nature trails and beach access which was amazing our kids truly enjoy the experience.

My family absolutely loved this resort! We give it 100 stars! Definitely will go back next summer and stay for 2 weeks, not 1. There is so much there to do and see one week isn't enough! Loved, loved it there! There is one other thing, PLEASE don't forget to check for all of your belongings. I forgot a whole drawer full of my favorite tshirts and tank tops.... we called asap.....but apparently you can't trust the cleaning service because my stuff was never found or returned, even though I told them EXACTLY where they were. Sad that people are not trust worthy anymore

Surprisingly beautiful park with a great loop to walk, insightful information about the ecosystem, and plenty of amazing wildlife in action. Great stop before we headed to the beach vacation.

Wonderful vacation spot! Especially for families or couples who want a more private and laid back alternative to the redneck riviera that is Mrytle Beach and something much more affordable than Virginia Beach (and the water is better too).

Wonderful! There are yellow-bellied sliders Turtles in the park. If you toss a few Goldfish crackers into the water thousands of them come up to the surface it's amazing

Great place for kids and the whole family the indoor pool is really nice and they have slides and the huge pond you can ride a boat on and the fitness center was great! I definitely recommend!
