Yancey County Toe River Campground

We loved this campground. It was very secluded and quiet. We stayed at site 42 and it was right along the river and it was a rather large site. The hookups are all close by and easy to use. The staff are nice. Our kids enjoyed the playground and biked around. The pool is not part of the campground but costs $5/person and was open from noon to five. Will definitely be back.

We camp here with 5 kids aged 5-17years. We all love it. We bike, swim, tube and try to fish (we aren't very good 😂). For an extra fee there is also a pool. Love it here.

Some of the nicest people you will ever meet! The staff at Toe River bent over backwards to help me and my children as we were trying to make last minute summer plans. They were so patient and willing to help. The campground is absolutely beautiful and the ice cream is also the bomb!

It's a quiet and local place that's been there since I was a child.

One of my all time favorite places to be in the summer, it's close to home but you still feel like your on vacation. You will make friends for a lifetime here and make memories you will never forget. The staff is amazing and I would tell anyone to grab a tube and hit the river and hit the river for the day, the staff will take you a little ways up the road from the campground and you just float back into the campground, great way to relax and escape from the everyday stress of in your life!

Always a fun, clean, family oriented, relaxed setting. I have always enjoyed coming here be it for time in the pool, shooting pool, camping, playing with the kids on the playground, camping, cooking out, entertaining a crowd under the pavilion or just playing fishing and swimming in the river. There is truely something here for everyone and every age to have a great time!

This 5 star rating is altogether for one of the employees working here, named Nathan. We did an online booking of a campsite and there were no photos of the site. Unfortunately when we reached there we found that the site is pretty small for our group. We went to Nathan and discussed our problem, he completely understood it and went out of the way to help find a place in another campground. It was pretty late in the evening. He also refunded the full amount without even asking. It was just because of Nathan, we found another place and had a wonderful camping experience. Thank you Nathan for all your help.

We LOVED this campground!!! Our entire family went and we had a blast. Plenty to keep kis ranging from 1 yr old to 13 busy. We will totally be coming back!

We love this place staff and campers are super friendly. This is our go to place for fishing and just wish we had a camper so we could stay rather than our day trip. If you love all things camping(tent or camper) this is the place to be!

Spent 2 separate weekends here and loved it. Nice river side camping. Vary clean facilities and vary tidy grounds. Me and some friends are heading up this weekend and I can't wait.

We have a permanent spot a the campground and we absolutely love it there. Before we got our spot we camper there for about 10 years. The staff is wonderful and it is truly a family campground. Thank you to the staff at Toe River

We didn't stay in the campground but did visit the general store and get some delicious ice cream. Very friendly staff and a beautiful place.

First time there and now consider this place our campground. Marvelous scenery, fishing, so laid back. Never found any better place

By far the best campground i have ever stayed at its is very nice and only 40 bucks a night great fishing and tent camp sites clean bathrooms and nice showers and sites right on the water

Clean, well layed out. Has a pool and picnic area. Great for families with kids & pets. Staff nice.
