The whole experience of this salon was fantastic. I saw Jacob for a haircut and deep conditioning for my natural curls. Right from the start, he was incredibly attentive to what I wanted to achieve from the haircut, listening to my current issues and how I wanted my hair to look overall. He was communicative in every step of the process and was thorough with the entire haircut with both clippers and shears, cuttung my hair both dry and wet. Jacob's overall attention to detail was meticulous, making sure my hair came out better than I could've imagined. Thank you, Jacob, for bringing my curls back to life!

I went to Van Studio with modest expectations, having been disappointed by several hair salons in Seattle. However, Van Studio truly exceeded my expectations. The appointment process was straightforward, and I was able to book a haircut with Jacob for the next day. The salon was easy to find, and the staff was very welcoming, offering me a nice cup of coffee while I waited.

Jacob did an excellent job with my haircut, giving me exactly the style I wanted. He even took extra time to provide a complimentary deep conditioning treatment. I was pleasantly surprised that there were no extra charges for my very long hair, unlike other salons in Seattle that have charged me up to $60 extra just for drying. Van Studio offers great pricing without hidden fees. Jacob also spent ample time blow-drying my hair at no additional cost, which was a pleasant surprise. I highly recommend this place!

I tried Vann Studio for the first time and I am glad that I did. Jacob did my hair really well. He sat down and discussed my requirements and shared his thoughts, so we both knew what we were working towards. Not to forget, he was so patient throughout. In the end, my hair felt so good and I’m happy with the whole experience.
The entire place has a very good vibe and they’re all super friendly. I’d definitely go back there!

I visited my wonderful hairdresser, Forest, his first day here and the results, as always are stunning. My hair has looked the same, basically, for many many years. Then with Forest, we slowly let it grow long for the first time in forever and I cannot believe how happy I am with the results. At 56, thought I couldn't pull that off yet it looks natural and flattering. Salon being on 1st Ave was pleasantly surprised there were open street parking spots out front. And, they even have electric foot massagers while your hair is processing - epic!

I came in here as a first-time client and Kylene was wonderful at touching up my balayage and cut that was 5 months overdue; aside from professional, she was skilled, thoughtful and personable. Furthermore the overall facilities were top notch and I especially like the focus on 100% vegan products and supporting local artists. I felt like a new and younger person after leaving Vann Studio - there’s a reason they have been around for 50+ years and continue to receive excellent reviews. I had a haircut and balayage with Ava and had the most wonderful experience! I had a previously bad haircut that left me with uneven bangs and a serious lack of shape/layers that Ava meticulously fixed and evened out. She managed to get me from my natural black hair to this wonderful blonde tone in just one 3 hour session, despite the challenge of my long and thick hair. I was so pleasantly surprised of how soft and moisturized my hair felt after the session (and still does after a wash!), and the minimal amount of breakage I had. Ava worked wonders and was so so incredibly kind and patient while working on my hair, and also a pleasure to chat with! Other stylists at the salon were also very pleasant! I would recommend Ava and Vann Studio Salon to anyone!

Whether it’s a cut or a color you’re looking for, this is the place to go. The receptionists will work with you to set you with your perfect stylist based on your preferences (my personal favorite receptionist is Harlow - so efficient and caring).
I’ve been going to Jess for about 6 months now, and I always feel like a princess when my appointment is over. Not only does she take in my wants and needs, but she had the knowledge to make it come into fruition! I also love the care and support from the other employees when they walk by her chair and ask for help, advice, or just to stop and compliment what’s going on.
I’ve never been a big fan of salons and beauty studios based on past experiences, but I’m so happy to have found *my* stylist and salon due to the amazing staff who work here.
10/10! Best place to get your hair done downtown, period.

She listened intently to what I was looking for in a haircut and then delivered it beautifully!! She educated me on the products she used on my hair and gave great recommendations. I purchased a Groupon for my visit to Vann Studio and am so thrilled to share that Shanna gave me one of the best haircuts of my life. We discussed in detail my likings and what would look good on my face cut.
My little dog was welcomed inside and I was offered coffee, candy, a cell phone charger and ever a lounging area to wait for my ride.

I went for the haircut with Kylene. She took time to understand my needs. Did an amazing job. I visited with my 3 years old daughter and she was polite and warm with her as well. I was happy with the results. Would definitely visit again. Also, appreciate the no tip culture.

Great atmosphere and attentive customer service. My friend and I had an amazing experience with Antonio and Charley. Both barbers have very different styles and rapport building. Antonio has a burst of energy that makes you excited to be there and have your haircut. Charley has a calming aura that brings a therapeutic zen that relaxes your body for the experience. My friend and I loved both of them and would love to come back and get our haircuts done by them again. While our experience was mainly with Antonio and Charley, the entire staff had a very welcoming presence and the clients I saw them help and hear them talk to were also having an amazing experience. Definitely do not skip over them. Stop by and check then out!

booked with Aspen twice for color/cut while in Seattle for a few months and loved my experience! she took time at the beginning of every session to get to know the look I was going for and walk me through the process. went bright red to a deep wine, Aspen nailed it every time and was super pleasant to work with :)

I got my hair done by Jess Manly she did a wonderful job. The studio is very welcoming even offering drinks and snacks as we were treated. I highly recommend.

Shanna is AMAZING! I first met her when she was a student a Aveda and she did an awesome job on my hair! She reached out to me when she found out that I was going on a trip and she did my hair again-- this time she colored it-- and the color she came up with was stunning! She's knowledgeable, cares about hair health, and takes your ideas into consideration! I've decided that she's my go-to stylist in Seattle.

I had my bridal hair done by Courtney and I couldn't be happier with it! Courtney is incredibly pleasant to be around; she made me feel comfortable and gave me lots of opportunity to provide feedback. She was also communicative leading up to the appointment, which made me feel at ease. I brought in some hair accessories for her to place, and she did a great job with that. We did a trial run a few weeks before the real thing, which was helpful. I'd highly recommend her!

I also got my bridal makeup done with Rose and I was very happy with the outcome! She placed some false lashes that I brought in, and gave me the more "natural" look I was going for.

Lastly, I got a partial balayage from Kylene and she was wonderful! She took the time to understand what I was going for, and I've been loving my brightened hair ever since.
