This bookstore sections are really well labeled, making it easy to browse the genres you're interested in. They had a large stack of almost every Bill Bryson book written. It was fun to browse and look at the books within the context of Pike Place Market. Wander in, browse, read, and discover a new author or topic. Bookstores are like portals into other worlds.

Awesome!! Best bookstore at the market hands down. I went to 2 others there and this one put them to shame. Really nice store and great customer service.

Lamplight Books is another independent bookstore in Pike Place Market. They sell mainly or just used books. It was great to see books that have been out of print for some time as well cookbooks by some of Seattle's best known chefs such as Tom Douglas. Great place to browse as it has a chill vibe and it's inside the market so away from the crowds. A good find to buy a book or kill some time.

I think I heard the best sales pitch for a book in my life here! I was looking for a book by the author Neil Gaiman and the sales guy stepps up, and just deliveres the most eloquent and enticing little hook for one of his books, Neverwhere! Much better than any bit written on the back of the book, I was immediately like "yeah I'm buying this book." You could definitely tell he, and his coworkers, cared about the books, and knew what they were doing! I finished the book and it may have been one of my favorites I read in a while! Cute shop too, I love all the little corners in it.

This is a good bookstore in the heart of Pike Place Market. Situated behind Las Agave, it's not that easy to locate. The collection of books on offer is quite diverse and there are very unique books to be picked up from here

They also have sections on used books and $ 1 books. Must visit if you are a book lover or if you want to casual browse books while in Pike Place Market area

A gem of a find in the depths of Pike Place Market. A good mix of new and previously owned books, packed to the rafters and smelling just like a bookstore should. The prices were fair and the selection impressive for such a small space. Worth a special trip or getting off the beaten tourist path to visit!

I love visiting this bookstore! Customer service is far higher quality than what you’ll get anywhere else. The guy helping us this time (I think he’s the owner!) was hilarious, knowledgeable, and kind. When my cousin asked for cash back to pay for her bus ticket, he let us know that they don’t do cash back, but gave her a dollar from his own “emergency stash”. So kind and unexpected! Books are reasonably priced too. Overall an excellent place, even if you don’t buy any books & just stop by and chat with the owner.

An excellent place with good yet old books. Give it a go. You will not regret it. The owners and employees there are a cool and knowledgeable bunch, so ask 'em if they got the titles you're looking for.

A nice selection of new and used books but what makes the place so lovely is the person keeping shop. They were warm, welcoming, kind, charismatic and funny. They are also really knowledgeable, upon checkout, noticing the titles I was purchasing, they recited a poem from a similar book. The hospitality alone is worth the trip.

A wonderful little bookstore! I assume the owner was the gentleman that helped us. He was hilarious and witty and kept us laughing. I found some great books that I haven’t seen elsewhere. For my toddler niece, I found children’s board book about science, physics and a handful of other great topics, along with a Little Golden Book about MLK and one about the Moon landing. We would go back specifically to chat with the owner, he was so much fun and was the highlight of our day.

The lady who helped me was quite friendly and the selection of books was pretty good. Right away she was able to help point everyone in the store towards whatever they inquired about, so she was quite knowledgable too. I was actually surprised that they had a few obscure works which had been difficult to find in both the Philosophy and Metaphysics sections. What I most appreciated about my experience was that while there was no budging on price (I was hoping that since it was in a market I could haggle a bit), when I was checking out the lady saw the books I was buying and made a suggestion of a different book store in Pioneer Square that she recommended I visit. Of course, I did... and her suggestion was 100% on point. Friendly, Helpful, and Fun - I highly recommend Lamplight Books.

Wonderful little bookstore with a great selection and helpful staff. The literature section is extensive and has a variety of gems. Other sections include Pacific Northwest history, anarchy, and a whimsically titled shelf of Shakespeare. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the market.

I love lamplight book! I’ve been there twice already and both times I’ve walked out with more than one book. Great selection and amazing quality. The cashiers have definitely been helpful in finding and providing input on titles.

This used book store is small but has a very wide spectrum of genres.

Small, but with a terrific selection and immense amount of care put into the stock. If you like literary fiction from the last two centuries, philosophy, criticism, history, AND a very solid smattering of more popular stuff, Lamplight will be extremely satisfying. I'm not sure I've ever been in a used bookstore with no junk: except here.

My best experience at Pike's Place was at Lamplight. The owner has an incredibly curated collection of books for sale. I could've easily spent half the day browsing.

This was the best part of the market that day! I could have spent the whole afternoon in there; the clerk(owner?) was a charming, hilarious oddball, and I spent way more than I should’ve on paperbacks and the brilliant selection of cards.
