I visited this business by chance, and I’m thankful for that. It has an excellent atmosphere, a kind owner, and a wide selection of books that fill the shelves (and then some). I spent an hour viewing different books, which felt doable with the smaller space and foot traffic from many visitors coming and going. Folks with mobility issues may or may not be able to have adequate space to move around in the store. I was not disappointed by the titles I came across, so it looked like there was something for many people to enjoy and pique their interest. The owner was welcoming and chill, they would walk around the store to ask if customers were finding everything ok and offering assistance. There was no overbearing tone or sarcasm from them, they were just a literary saloon owner who wanted to help. I appreciated that, and found many titles to add to my wishlist for a future visit and for purchase. I even got a free B L M F themed bookmark with the book that I bought, which I thought was a nice gesture. The condition of the store was clean, the floors were swept regularly, so the only things left on the ground were mats and books overflowing from the shelves. To me, B L M F Literary Saloon is a book haven and is up there with the bookstores that I have visited, easily in my top five. I will definitely do business here in the future, thank you so much for an excellent experience!

It’s been years since I lived in Seattle, but what I remember the most is the used bookstores. On a recent visit, I discovered the Literary Saloon, and I was reminded that there really are the most amazing used bookstores there.

Mr. Johnson is the most masterful curator/literary merchant I have encountered on my most recent trip. He was happy to help, but really happy to let me look through every single pile like a crazy completist freak.

Please, must be seen to be believed. If you are a thoughtful, smart, and widely read…this is where you will likely lose two hours of your vacation in the essays section.

Second-hand bookstore a couple of levels below the ground floor of the Pike Place Market. The bookstore has a decent selection of books with helpful staff to point out the locations. The shop is right next to lots of other fun shops to browse, from magic stores to everything stores, curiosity shops, record shops, vintage posters/magazines, handbags, and others. It's so enjoyable to browse this bookstore in such a unique, magical market. This bookstore also had a decent selection of Seattle history books (what I was looking for).

When you walk in and it’s almost floor to ceiling books, you know it’s going to be good. The best kind of maze and some really cool and interesting books.

Sheesh what a place! A wealth of fantastic books. I am ashamed I don't remember his name, the gentleman at the cash register also helped recommend other books as well.

I loved this shop! It might be a little small in square foot space compared to others I've been in, but it was very well organized and the owner was very friendly (even with my very inquisitive 7 year old). I found several books to purchase, which is quite the feet considering my current TBR pile. We will definitely visit again!

This place is awesome! Had a great conversation with the proprietor about the Darwin Cooke Parker adaptations. Dear sir, if you’re reading this, rejoice! The Martini Edition is TWO volumes, each comprised of two(together totaling all four) stories. Thought you’d be interested!

Stopped by while visiting Pike Place. They had a wide selection of graphic novels, which really surprised me, and I left with some great reads!

In my not so humble opinion, the best book store in the entire Market! Located on the very bottom inside levels, which, by and large, JUST HAPPENS to be the coolest (and least crowded) level of the entire Pike Place complex. This shop gers its name from the fact that it's got Books Like a M*tha F*cka, the collection is curated really well, and quite browsable in all the ways you want from a used book store, but rarely find. It fits in perfectly on this gem of a level in the Market with a record store, a pop art shop & galleries, a rummage shop, a photo booth, a psychic, and so much more. If you're in the Market for books, shop small, shop local, and come here first 🖤

Masterfully curated selection of books! Most used bookstores I've been to require some digging to find gems, with an over-abundance of pop lit and lesser-known 'meh' authors, but every shelf I went through had MULTIPLE novels that grabbed my interest! Not to mention their graphic novel/comic selections, the variety of authors available, the clean organization while still maintaining that "used bookstore" feel - absolutely loved all of it. Oh, and the atmosphere felt like they were clearly part of the community; they had customers drop in just to talk - including someone from NY that just wanted to see the owner!

This is the best store I have visited in years! Wasn’t looking for anything but found something at a wonderful price. The store clerk knows where everything is, very nice guy. A must visit.

The BEST bookstore, the BEST. I've gone here countless times. It's a classic, family run bookstore and it shows. Walking in is like getting hit by a bus of nostalgia from going into bookstores like this as a kid. Never change that.

Definitely a highlight of my trip to Seattle while visiting this bookstore. The owner was very nice and knowledgeable and had everything I needed! Will definitely come back on my next visit to Seattle. Went three times during my stay there! I hope the community will continue to support❤

Awesome book store and I love their convenient hours. If you are even slightly literate, plan on spending a few hours here shopping and browsing. Deep selection of topics for sale here.

I think this might be the best used book store I've ever been in. Everywhere I looked there was a book I wanted, or had read and loved. The person behind the counter, I assumed it was the owner but I don't know for sure, knew where every book was. It was incredibly impressive to just ask after a title and watch them go immediately to where it was in the store. A very nice experience and very reasonable prices.

I loved this place. The owner was super friendly and helped me find some treasured hard to find comics. My favorite book store in Seattle by far. Great prices too.

I'd have to say that the customer service here is phenomenal! If you ask about a book, they know if they have the book or not. It's like dealing with a human computer! I'd highly recommend that you give this hole in the wall a visit! It's totally worth it, especially hearing the book recommendations based on the genre you're interested in or even the authors you're interested in. It seems like they read every book that they have! Not that's really rare in a book selling location!

The best used bookstore! Browsing is a dream and the owner knows where almost every book is! Picked two titles in horror and mystery. At checkout the owner was able to talk about each author, and it made me even more happy with my purchase. Do NOT miss out on this place when you’re at the market.

The fella in the store helped us find local authors, going in depth about their significance and a description of their stories. Great place!
