A really cool bookstore, with a phenomenal array of books, really well curated.
They also have a nice selection of pens, notebooks, small design pieces and art.
The no phones allowed sign, is a little bit odd, I think I can appreciate it in the sense of being present, and interested with the material in the store, but it is slightly off-putting.

A thoughtful selection of architecture, design and books about the Built environment.
Maybe the best selection of unique note pads I've seen. While including the classics.

Staff is professional and helpful.
Ground level entrance, in Post Alley, just East of Alaskan Way.

Accessibility, ground level, brick pavement, slightly uneven to get to the store. Small Parking lot right next to the store. Store tiddy and easy to navigate.

Ignore the street address on Alaskan Way because the way to access the shop is through a parking lot adjoining First Avenue. If you blink you'll miss it, but don't because this place is an absolute gem. Spectacular selection of books on architecture and design and some great gift options including cool japanese notebooks and a wide array of pens. Worth a stop!

In the alley but what a special place. Definitely sparking joy. Check out the book on how to wash the dishes, clever and humorous! If a tape dispenser can make your day (it did) you'll love this store.

What a great place for architecture enthusiasts. Peter was very friendly and helpful in suggesting books and answering to questions. He can tell stories about almost every book in the store.

The place is somewhat hidden. If you are not searching for it, you might very easily miss it. It is at the end of a parking lot. Inside, the store has many books about great architects and also sells Junghans watches and Alessi kitchen products.

A delightful shop, both inviting and well curated. An indy bookstore owned and operated by longtime bookseller (and author) Peter Miller. Reason enough to spend time in this Pioneer Square store.

This is my absolutely favorite store in Seattle area! The atmosphere, the selection of books and designer product, oh I enjoy it so much each time I visit the place. If you love art or would like to enjoy some classical music while browsing inspiring books and products, this is your MUST-VISIT.
Do remember to respect the "no phone" policy :) It never bothers me.

Great specialty bookstore. It's half a block indented from 1st Ave so you may not even notice it when you pass by.
Lots of interesting titles, both contemporary and classic, in architecture and design. A fun treasure hunt to go through some shelves here. It also has a lovely stationery section too, with a focus on notebooks. Service is friendly compared to some other art book places.

I live nearby and never noticed this bookstore. Yesterday I saw the sign out on first street and decided to pop in. I am so glad I did! This store is an architect, engineer and building scientist book heaven. You’ve got drawing books, pens, pencils but also a curated collection of classic and cutting edge books on urban planning, graphical design, landscaping and using natural materials. Stop in and treat yourself or a loved one. Great bookstore. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking too!

My wife and I bought a beautiful pair of Junghans Max Bill watches at this store. We were assisted by Lily who is very polite, well mannered and educated, it was a great experience doing business at this store.

Good specialized design store. Seems a bit architecture focused, would love to see more usability design books! (but that's the bias of a UX designer here) Storekeeper was very nice and was engaged in an intense conversation with another customer. I didn't mind though, it was kinda pleasant to just listen (pandemic makes talking very hard...). A great time to just experience the store as it is and support a local business; don't come here to bargain hunt with your phone -- if you want to do that just shop online lol. Will come again, thanks!

This place is just magical. I have been living in Seattle and collecting architecture books for over 10 years, and I just discovered this place. If there is a rare architectural tome you're hunting down, then this is the place for you!

Secluded at the heart of the city is this trove of books & tools on architecture, art, and aesthetics.

A great old space filled with books and supplies for designers and architects. It's a little off the path, so you have to look for the store. Lots of interesting things to explore. Mr Miller is friendly and personable. Very glad I stopped by.

Peter is one of a kind and so is his store. Every time I go in I find 20 books and 5 other random things im forced to decide between. His collection is so smartly curated. Plus he remembers everyone. Guaranteed that if you go in there once, he'll remember you. It's obvious that he truly loves people and conversation and he's brilliant to talk to. You can't miss this if you're in Seattle.

A bookstore with personality! It's got classical music, a hand-selected array of architecture books, fancy decorative items, and stationery.

I buy art from art curators because they make sure I don't end up with something I won't love. Peter Miller is now my official book curator. Everything in his store he would want to own and have in his own place of business or home (depending on what your occupation). The books I purchased from him we're pricey but worth every GD dime. Heis now my official go-to for solid books that will remain on my shelves for days vs months/years (meaning I'll use them more often). Trust this seller, he cares and he's supurb at what he offers and shares with his customers.
