Cherry Street Thai

Recently moved to this part of the city and so happy we have this place nearby. Some of the best Thai food in the city.

Over a decade ago, I was first introduced to Yellow Curry Pineapple Fried Rice by a long-gone hole in the wall in the U-District and it became one of my favorite Thai dishes. Since that place disappeared I've been searching for a place that gets the flavor just right. Several places have come close, but not quite. Cherry Street is actually better. So thrilled I've found that perfect flavor again.

They've become our go-to over the last year. Watch out, the spice level is real here. Highly recommend!

Fantastic take-out restaurant. Not fancy, but has good service and great food at a decent price. It's my go-to spot for an easy midweek meal. Bonus points for the nice staff who are very friendly both on the phone and in-person. Main drawback is that online ordering is currently not an option, unfortunately.

*Panang Curry* - this is my favorite dish, though the Green Curry and Massamam Curry are also noteworthy. It's hearty and very filling, perfect during the colder months. It usually runs about $15-20 altogether. I recommend chicken or veggie with a 2 or 3-level spice (out of 5). I would not recommend the salmon or avocado options - they don't go well with curry in my opinion. The shrimp option is good but is just a little messier when peeling off the shells.

*Tom Kha* - very good, and similar to the curries but with a lemongrass taste. It's a nice change, though I do prefer the curries over this soup.

*Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodle)* - this is my second favorite dish. The portion is very generous, and the sauce is delicious. Recommended for those new to Thai food and are very hungry.

*Rama Noodles (Swimming Noodle)* - I found this dish lacking cohesion and would not recommend it. The sauce is thick and pasty, and the noodles a bit slippery.

*Pad Thai* - very good, but not enough vegetables in my opinion. It's a great base for a quick meal, though, and very easy to add more vegetables at home to essentially double the size of the dish.

*Bird Nest (Curry Noodle)* - great flavor, though I was hoping for more curry sauce. The crispy egg noodle was a nice change but a little difficult to manage at times.

*Chicken wings* - not great, do not recommend. Though there are lots of wings for the price, there's not enough actual meat. Lots of breading and cartilage to work around, and the sauce is lackluster.

*Mango Sticky Rice* - very good, and very sweet. Easily shareable between two people.

*Rice* - the white rice is best. The brown rice is actually red rice and has a funny taste in my opinion.

New favorite Thai spot! Great price and portions (definitely enough for two meals!), friendly staff. Walked in around 6pm on a Monday, placed our order and got our food in order 10 minutes! Take out only, food was super freshly prepared. Will be returning for sure!

I got their Pad Thai and it was so good. The proportions are huge and the quality is great. It was really fast to get the food. The two ladies there were very nice.

This is my favorite, go to Thai restaurant in Seattle. Their khao soi is the best soup I’ve ever tasted! The family that owns this restaurant are also very wonderful people. Please support this excellent local restaurant!

The crispy chicken (3 star) here is amazing. The chicken is fresh and is crispy af, unlike some other Thai places around town. I also like their crab delights (rangoons).

I just tried their Tom Yum soup today and it was so amazing. It is spicy for 2 star but very tasty and filling. It’s takeout only but totally worth it. Will be coming back again.

Their phone number does not work at all- asks you for a PIN when you call. Doesn't connect to anyone.

Food is good but you cannot order ahead on phone, have to drive there, order and wait.

10/10 green curry. level one spice still has a bit of a kick to it but a perfect amount of spice

Great little Thai restaurant in a neighborhood full of Ethiopian restaurants. Six or eight tables very small and a bit old but very very nice. Staff is incredibly helpful and food is great.

We don't live in Seattle but specifically came back to this place on our 2nd trip since the food was amazing.
There service is exceptional and food is great. What more can u ask for!!

I have been coming here for at least 5 years!! Same consistency and amazing eat!! I love all the different fried rice and amazing owner has great vibes. Support her small business!! We have to keep her here for the community to enjoy!

Some of the best Pad Thai I’ve ever had. No frills, fairly priced, a must for any Thai food lover.

I love the cashew chicken with 2 Stars hot. I go there at least 2 times a month.

My favorite Thai in Seattle. Pad Thai and crab wontons are consistently great! Great Thai iced tea too. As well as their Tom kha soup! Can’t go wrong here! If you want a healthier option, the fresh rolls are excellent!

My favorite Thai place in Seattle!! And we have tried quite a few of them. Pad see ew always on point, love the crab delights. Food amazingly fresh, hits the spot every time with huge portion sizes! Staff super friendly as well :)

Delicious food, generous portions, gracious staff! Take-out only. My only complaint is it can be hard to get through to place a phone order because they're so popular!

I highly recommend the red curry with pumpkin (it's kabocha squash) if you haven't tried it :) Also the tom kha and pad kee mao are excellent.

Sign on door says they are closed until August 30th. Really good amount of food for the price. Got chicken pad Thai and was pretty delicious.

There are quite a few amazing Thai spots in Seattle, this one is an absolute stand out. We order from them at least monthly, if not more and have never been disappointed. Employees are incredibly kind and service is extremely fast! Hard to say what I’d recommend because it’s most of the menu, but the tom kha soup, garlic noodle, and crab fried rice are staples on every order of ours.
