Just North UCC

I love this church! I've been a member for over 20 years. Wonderful people, extravagant welcome, come as you are and all welcome. Really all.

North Congregational UCC had been one of the earliest churches in central Ohio to fully welcome LGBT people. Now, North Congregational UCC is an extremely diverse congregation.

Though I have never been at North Congregational UCC on a Sunday morning, I attend several events there each year; in addition, there are several events at that church that I would like to be able to attend but am unable to.

One of my favorite events each year is the annual "Christmas Eve Family Service" that always includes a completely non-traditional reenactment of the Nativity story during which the many children who are present that evening are invited to portray any of the traditional characters who they wish -- without regard to gender or any other characteristic -- in a completely unique reenactment of the Nativity story.

On a Saturday evening close to the July 22 Mary Magdalene Feast Day, North Congregational UCC hosts an annual "Mary Magdalene Celebration" that typically includes either a worship service [in the sanctuary] or a presentation [in Fellowship Hall] that tells some of the story of Mary Magdalene, and, in the past [though not at present], has included a meal of Middle Eastern food.

During April 2018, North Congregational UCC had hosted and had sponsored a one-day conference, "Gen Silent: Giving Voice to LGBTQ Older Adults," that had been a forum for the discussion of the unique needs of LGBTQ seniors, some of whom find that they must "go back into the closet" when they are requesting the continuing care that they will need as they age.

If you are looking for a liberal and welcoming community, I strongly recommend North Congregational UCC.

Went to the recent concert fundraiser for BREAD. It was world-class entertainment. No kidding.

This is a church daycare where I am a preschool teacher. Very nice place if you're looking for daycare.
