Daly City DMV

So far, so good. I recommend to get an appointment beforehand. My appointment was for 10:30am. I got there at 10:00am but waited in line (for appointments only) outside the building for about 30 minutes. All the agents were very nice and helpful. I was dine at 11:30am.

I've been coming here for 10 years, and with each visit they have gotten better and better. I would say that my most recent visit (today) was the best I've ever had. I arrived 15 minutes before opening and they had some staff members already sorting people in line. These guys are doing double duty aka it's not their main station but it helped everyone else in the crowd sort themselves in the separate lines once the doors opened.

For my renewal, I had to check my appointment, do a visual test/pay fees, get my picture taken, and then receive my interim license. That's a total of 4 windows. Everyone was pleasant and chill; shout out to staff member at Window #8 for the tip on my next renewal! I observed that the employees keep tabs on people going to specific windows and know if they go to the wrong window and redirects them. It's nice to know they are watching out for each other.

Make your visit smooth by being prepared. I filled out my renewal application ahead of time online and also made an appointment. Make sure to have your application confirmation code and appointment number ready so they can process you quickly. I was scheduled for 8:00am and I was out by 8:10am, literally.

I had a appointment at 1:20 for drive test. I arrived 10 minutes before appointment time. I took around 10 minutes to wait and complete all form. Then I moved car to get in line. The drive test took 15 minutes, very quickly. Besides, the examiner was very nice.

Showed up to get my Real ID at 7:50am on a Friday, 10mins before they opened. Within 45mins I got photographed, failed the written test, retook it and passed, and left with a temporary license. No complaints from me.

The employees were all nice, professional, and as fast as you can be. It took me about an hour to get out of there, they were patient with me, cheerful, and hard working. I appreciate you guys!

So friendly and efficient staff！Every one is on the track，even before the Thanksgiving Day！ I‘ve been there the first time to apply the DL without an appointment，and there were about 20 people waiting on line. I took all the documents that DMV needed，so it was smooth to work. Just remind that took license test online（路牌测试）if your writing test wasn't in English.

NY daughter did her driving test here. The lady that helped me was a Saint! MY registration was expired by 3 days and the card reader at the kios box was not working and would not accept credit cards. The lady said that she would wait for us, even tho her appointment was at 1020, it's now 1040. She said she would be gone from 11-12 and she would take me right away. I was about to go get a number and wait for 3 hours to pay my registration when I tried the card reader again and IT WORKED!!!! but now my car needs a smog....uuuugh!!!! I was printed a receipt and walked back to window 20 and waited....she looked at me and I told her I had a receipt that I paid it. Perfect.....we go drive in the line and wait. My poor kid is so nervous and so am I. She leaves and in 8 minutes is back. I thought, oh god....after all this, she didn't pass....well.....she did pass. We go back to window 20 and wait....she gets her paper copy only for me to see the address is wrong. FML. Now I have to do a change of address and then get a new license. Oh well....at least she passed and for being the DMV.....it was a pleasant experience believe it or not.

This DMV is so much better than the understaffed, busy office in San Francisco. Go here, check in, then walk over to the In-N-Out., and chill. You’ll get notification on your phone to show up.

I recommend making an appointment but today was pretty quick without one. Kudos to the staff there that was helpful.

Was good better than I expected. And it's seems like DMV. Is doing well with their work.. satisfied with it. At least for now.

Long wait so come early.

Can't believe how seamless the appointment system has become. Took the advice of another reviewer to go early Friday morning and I was in and out within 10 minutes! Also noticed new touch screens to help confirm info that speed things up.

Pleasantly surprised when I had to go in to this DMV branch for Real ID. I have heard so many horror stories that I came prepared for a nightmare. Instead, I was in and out in 20 mins.

Details : Made an appt online on the DMV website. Got an appt about 3 weeks out. On arrival, everything was really well organized in the entrance plaza area. There were separate lines for appt / no appt and people to direct you. Once you signed in and got your temp taken, you received a text msg with queue number. This way, you can wait outside in the fresh air. Once it is your turn (took like 5 mins wait for me), I received another text msg with a counter number to go to. Super professional staff, knew exactly what to look for, courteous and everything from that point was very efficient. I was back in my car in a total of 20 mins from arrival.

My takeaway would be that there is plenty of information on the DMV website on what documents you need, etc, etc. If you come prepared, the staff there will do what it takes to help you and get you what you need quickly and efficiently. Impressed! Thank you staff at the Daly City DMV.

Checked on Sat and the next appt in 3 weeks. I couldn't take that date, as it is past my bday.
Today, I just waited till 9am, got in the queue online and drove over to the DMV skipped the line outside, and sat down. In and out in 45 minutes, including eye test and photo, to renew license.

All things considered, The line moved.
If you don't have an appointment. You better have patience. Once inside it went fast

It was crazy busy as always and I highly recommend having an appointment. If you can't get an appointment then plan on waiting for a hour or more. The staff is always friendly,helpful and knowledgeable. They really are there to get what you need done.

Very friendly and professional I set my appointment to do a driving test at 9 I was out by 10 :15 I had Felix as examiner he was amazing very calm and a true professional night and day compared to the Fell St DMV

Had to replace a license. Took 1.5 hours. Not too bad. Make sure you fill out form online to make it faster

Haven't been to DMV for many years and was so pleasantly surprised to find the office to be very well organized and staff friendly and helpful. Gwendolyn Ford took care of me and she was very helpful and pleasant. Next to her was William Chan, I was so impressed with his patience dealing with non-English speaking clients, it was wonderful to watch!

I arrived at 7:40 and got into line and by 8:30 my problem for a new title and new registration and new stickers was all solved. Amy, in the front is the MVP as she sorts all the appointments and all the different transactions before you walk in. They are direct, and fast, and they have to be because there are at least 40 to 50 people in line at any given moment. Kudos!
