J & J Hardware Store

I went in with a request for a strange screw for my car door, and they spent a lot of time with me individually... only to realize I didn't need it at all. All this for a $.47 piece of hardware. They really went above and beyond.

As a contractor I usually shy away from local hdwr stores, but these guys maintain a pretty comprehensive inventory. Very convenient!

J&J is a neighborhood gem!
They are very knowledgeable of their products and they would take their time to explain to you on how they work. After discovering them, I've cut down on my trips to the Home Depot & Lowe's because they are much faster and believe it or not, many of their products are even cheaper!

Biggest selection of hardware I’ve seen in SF, including at Lowe’s or HD, super organized store.
but they have personalized customer service that gets you in & out. Prices are about same as HD

This store has more stuff in a tiny space, it's amazing how often he has exactly what we need. He's there to assist with showing you where too, very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable also. Wish we had one of these personalized small stores where we are moving... sadly only the big box stores there.

Excellent customer service. Very good chance you will find what you are looking for. If its not there, they will get it for you.
I am very thankful to still have family run businesses in the community, and thankful that this store is so close to home.

This place even though it's small almost always have what you need especially with the bolts and screws that are sometimes hard to find. Was just there today to dind some stainless steel bolts I need and yeah he has it! Ever reliable!!!

Super great place for me to get emergency bug spray and an lot more that I may need at times.

I was looking for some stainless metal, I found a piece sheet of copper 3×6 inches. To make 2 new up front holders 3-1/4" long by 1/2" inch wide. Of the back bike rack because it didn't have two holes to tighten the rack with two tiny little bolts with nuts. I had to make one, 1/4 inches longer because the holders with the rack were to short. Well, took me more than 1 hour. This J & J Hardware is a small store but you can find whatever you looking for. Is unique, not many closer.

Best find this year! Love lil old hardware stores and finding unique hard to find tools or accoutrements. I prefer picking up my wish orders here too close to my man's house than me downtown.

Marvin (owner)Is very knowledgeable about the products he stocks/how to use and apply them. He's also knows construction & building trades, just ask him your questions, he won't steir you wrong. 😊

This is very convenient if u don't want to drive to Lowe's or home depot a little higher price but when I do go there the owner and his workers r very knowledgeable it's just the parking meters when I do go there they always know what I want 👍👍

Don’t forget our old local hardware stores have the hard to fine repair parts for your old houses in San Francisco. Somebody who grew up working in a hardware store knowing all the tricks and figure it do your plumbing and hardware need. Not Home Depot or Lowe’s where they hire people who don’t know what they’re doing or write off and high so they don’t have to help anyone. Home Depot or Lowe’s when they do give you information is often wrong.
