Safeway

Excellent sales today. Quick check out. Everyone must have known about the sales because parking lot was full. But spaces would open up in a timely manner. All shelves were well stocked with good variety to chose from.

Plenty of parking. Self check out and a huge selection of products recently added. The store is improving the layout for convenience.

These are my favorite salad * Caesar Salad with Chicken is my #1 to go to!! It’s well organized for you!! It comes with a fork,dressing,croutons,chicken! All in one !! U just add the ingredients, Shake & your salad is done!! It’s easy !’

They usually have a lot of lanes open so it doesn't take long to get through the line, but all the bathroom items are locked up and you will need to wait for an attendant. They are fast and friendly though

It has a lot of parking spaces. The store is okay, not wide but not cramped either. The staff at the deli are nice and friendly.

I scheduled late last night for pick up this morning and Jovy had everything ready to go by 9:30AM! She had everything packed appropriately, no missing or out of stock items, and was super friendly. She made a very efficient and easy process even more smooth! What a rockstar!

Gotta love Safeway , they always have what I am looking for!
The prices may be steep , sometimes , but ,they are trying because I see that there are price changes on items that are needed!

My local grocery establishment since childhood. Always consistent with crew members of years there. Small neighborhood atmosphere with access to variety of products. Attentive, cautious and understanding crew...security guards also humble.

One of the best Safeways in the city, I just wish the entrance was closer to the parking lot. I've been coming to this Safeway since I was a kid. They have a parking lot, the busses stops right near by and they are all super nice.

I come here a lot for grocery shopping! I've never had a problem except for how terrible the bathrooms are so I make sure I don't ever use them! But other than that, I like this Safeway because of the Safeway card discounts I get and the Safeway app coupons I always use. It has a huge inventory and the lines aren't always long. The staff is very friendly to me and every time I ask for help, they never hesitate! The pharmacy staff is also very helpful👌🏽Parking is easy to find since they have their own and its conveniently open 24hrs😃👍🏽

Today I was very impressed with the service. The store was exceptionally clean! The Sanitizing Lead outside was doing a great job moving the lines as well as cleaning carts. Great experience today walking into this Safeway.

This is were I buy my 85% 0r 72% cacao Ghirardelli dark chocolate. I like their self-checkout machines, easy to use.

Decent prices with club card. Great selection and employees know where everything is. Has much more products than Walgreens for example. After 2 or 3pm it gets quite busy and checkout can take longer.

There is a lot of parking and the cleanliness is also good.Very good price from nearby market.

Plenty free parking. For san Francisco a big plus. What can I say about Safeway but it's got everything and convenient. I was just there for eggs and bread. Only waited 5 minutes at checkout. But it's a sunday and not much people around 8pm.

Our favorite grocery store. After a recent visit to Safeway at 4950 Mission Street, Sanfrancisco,Ca 94112 a request popped up on my phone to review this location. I have been shopping here weekly for the last fourteen years. Our first impression was it is a humble location after shopping at the much larger store at Market and Church Streets. In hindsight, the appeal was late night shopping and quick availability of taxi cabs. In subsequent return visits the luster had worn, and the large public bathrooms became some of the filthiest I have ever seen. Sorry to say, the Church Street location lost it's charm.
More importantly, back to the praises of Safeway at 4950 Mission Street. Having always been a fan of Safeway, the first step was to get acquainted with the lay out. Isles selections do vary from store to store. And as I became more familiar with the store, and began to become a regular shopper; it was the charm of the employees that stood out.
First, and foremost; the Reina (Queen in Spanish); Araceli. To watch her work is a masterclass in efficiency and hospitality. She makes everyone feel welcome. People would choose her checkout line, over shorter waits. A warm greeting, eye contact and genuine concern. And I'm sure other people besides myself looked forward to the"Hi Honey"greeting. She knows her job. Her product codes,lemongrass anyone? And she interacts well with her co workers. She truely leads by example.
Other Hall of fame employee's include Mirasol. We would usually see her on Sunday's; and again while engaged in her job always took time to say hello and carry on a brief conversation. And of course; Miss Norma. I hope everyone has the pleasure to meet this wonderful woman. Friendly, cheerful, and a very hard worker. We see her constantly moving back in forth from the sections that are under lock and key. And don't be confused by the nice exterior. I watched her kick out someone who was a known shoplifter: without skipping a beat. It's not quite a shopping trip, unless I get to say hello to Norma.
And some of our favorite new employees. Bryan, Jason, Michael and Amelia. Thank you all for your hard work, and risks you take by coming to work.
And more good news to report. The store is currently under renovations. Older refrigeration units have been replaced. A new coat of light blue paint has been applied. Some products have been moved to different isles. The last time I was there to shop the store looked so bright, clean and organized. All aspects you look for in a grocery store.
I'm sure you noticed I began this review with the friendly, accommodating staff. Safeway, is first and foremost a grocery store. Selections can be similar from store to store. What truely brings me back is the human interactions. I do go to Whole Foods, but the interactions; if any, are very different. Employees tend to talk more amongst themselves, than with the customers.
Now for the food. I have learned the ins and outs of Safeway. My pantry is stocked with house brands. O Organics low sodium chicken stock, black and garbanzo beand. Stewed tomatoes, and various sizes of tomato sauces. Huge fan's of Safeway Signature select products. Currently hot dogs are on sale. I like the Signature select rolls even better than Oroweat's potato version. And we look forward to the Signature select, semi boneless ham for Easter. Same as was Christmas. Also buy green split peas; to make split pea and ham soup. And some premium cracker barrel aged cheddar for home made mac and cheese
It is always good to shop with a list. And keep an open mind to weekly sale , and seasonal items. This past week I took advantage of value pack pork chops on sale. The first night, pork chops with whole grain mustard sauce. Green beans and braised red cabbage. The next morning; a hash with chopped pieces of pork with black beans, onions and peppers. With a fried egg on top. The remainder chopped, and slow braised in a red chili sauce made with water and garlic. And served over rice. That's all the space 4 now

This Safeway is run very professionally. All the employees are always courteous and helpful. They carry all the essentials one needs to live in San Francisco.
