La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Oakland Airport Coliseum

Staying here is truly wonderful. I initially signed up for a two-day period, and then I added another day. Plenty of free parking and a decent breakfast are available. All visitors to the hotel are subject to a security check in the evening. Activities involving homeless people are taking place outside the hotel. Nevertheless, they stay outside of the hotel area and do not disturb anyone. I did not see anyone trespassing. Fast food is available nearby, but you'll have to walk past the homeless campers if you want to get some. No one spoke to me when I passed them multiple times. It is not the problem, even though it appears to be unsafe. Last but not least, the only issue I had was that those who are cleaning rooms can be a little noisy if you arrive in hotel late and want to sleep until 9 or 10 a.m. I wished that they spoke to each other quietly. If you prefer to travel frugal and not spend more than you actually have, it is among the greatest places to stay in the area. Nice and stable internet connection. The folks at reception are friendly. Recommend!

I can't knock the location, but I know some people will get squeamish so I have to advise that there are homeless people living outside the fence line. But that's where they're able to live at, and they deserve the respect and privacy that you were wanting that circumstance as well, so don't belittle the residents of the RVs or the hotel for them being there. The inside of the hotel is quirky, But the rooms themselves are beautiful. Our room was clean, roomie, and was comfortable enough for me to sleep soundly for the night, which is no small feat. The breakfast was sausage, waffles, and what seemed like powdered eggs, but it was still serviceable, and good for what I needed. I would strongly recommend this hotel to whomever is in the area and needs a quick night sleep. We were at an AAU Tournament that ran late, and these rooms were a godsend. Thank you to the workers who were so helpful, and we will definitely be back.

Hotel itself is very clean and nice. The area of hotel is surrounded by homeless but there is a security guard that opens and closes the gate so your vehicle is locked.

Pros are fantastic room for price (way better than the Motel 6 tier), free breakfast, all day coffee, great outside security, good staff, fast check in, closest location to the coliseum, comfy beds and pillows, clean with no smells.

Cons are a shady street. BUT that security check in ENSURES no riff raff to come in. Actually might be the safest hotel to park a car because of the stellar check in system that is lacking at the other hotels. The only con is a non-sound proof wall. Ah, but that price... you get a fantastic room. $70 nowadays gets you awful, shady, and bed bugs. Definitely will be the go-to for my work travel. Real value.

The LaQuinta is clean and quiet. However, there are homeless camps outside the gated fence. The property has a security guard that has to let you on the property so don't be afraid to stay there.

I booked this place, not aware of its location. I'm glad I got the chance to stay here though. Luis checked us in. He was friendly and made sure I knew exactly where my room was. I asked him if they served breakfast and he assured me they did, and that he recommended the Belgium waffles. I'm not to fond of waffles, but I tried it. They were fire! Our room was great. It had a couch and a table that we could sit on to eat. It had a refrigerator and a microwave. The bed was comfortable as well. I would definitely stay here again.

Looking for a ratchet room with a lumpy bed, broken TV, and reeks of smoke, then look no further, this little gem is just for you! You'll feel like royalty as you enter our barely functional levator and walk down our filthy carpets towards your slumber chamber

Looking for room service, then this ain't the place for you. Not just because we dont offer it, but also because the phone in your room doesn't work.

Every room is fully equipped with at least one disabled smoke detector, which perfectly compliments the broken television and table lamps

There is always something that needs fixing when you have a hotel/motel, this was no different. The door sticks and was hard to open. Had to change rooms because it was bottom floor and noisy from the parking lot.
Victor was super accommodating. Moved us up a floor with no hassles.

I was a little skeptical at first as the area is run down. However our whole experience was wonderful. Front desk was super nice and happy to help. When we got to our room (family of 4) there was only 1 normal size towel. We called the front desk and they brought us more immediately. Room smelt clean. Bedding had a light scent of detergent/bleach which reassured me it was clean. I’m very pleased, excellent job!

I love the front desk service. The customer service was excellent. Maid service needs help. The maid just walked in. She didn't knock first. She just walked in while I was in the bathroom.
Speaking on that subject...I only had to pee when I first got there. I had to ask for a plunger to flush my urine down. The plunger was not working at all. I had to remove the top all day and night until I left. I should have asked the front desk to help me but I didn't want to bother anybody. Next time I will. I really do love the hotel. Especially the free breakfast. I love orange juice. You guys had options. That was a bonus. My man loved the waffle maker. Thanks for a great experience.

For a cheap hotel, this actually wasn't bad. I lucked out and got a pretty clean room. Bed was cleaner than some of the $200 hotels I've stayed at. It was a really simple room though, it had no safe and a really small coffee maker. But it was clean and sufficient and the front staff are super sweet. The continental breakfast was really good.

I had initially left a not so pleasant review however, what I will say after Martin (management) giving me a call after correcting the mishap speaks volumes to me. Mistakes happen and the apology I was given was accepted. Would I recommend La Quinta absolutely

It was very nice, this hotel is one of the best in Oakland in this price range. Most of the others that are comparable in cost are an assault on the senses.... to say the least. There was a few small cleaning errors in some of the different rooms our band encountered there... but hey my mom could have made me smarter too you know! could have had more money to throw down on them hotels, you know¿?

I have a great experience at this hotel. their staff was super friendly and helpful. I ask about how the shuttle bus work and explain to me wonderful. This hotel was so beautiful , clean, professional staff, and comfort. Their bed was so comfortable to sleep on and AC work great. Yes they offer a free shuttle bus to and from airport. You just need to call them and they will get you.Internet was great and quite area. I'm very strongly recommend to anybody to book at this hotel.

The outside of the hotel is very attractive and features a large gated parking lot and an outdoor pool. The lounge area inside is well decorated and run by a well trained polite team of employees. There's a fitness center, though not incredibly equipped is good enough for a small workout. The room we checked into is a pet friendly room because we have a cat and it was so beautifully decorated and very clean and smelled great. Breakfast is complimentary and is served every morning from 6 am to 10am and features fresh eggs, cereal, a waffle maker, coffee and other various treats. Overall I highly recommend staying here, this is a truly wonderful hotel to stay at for the price.

A pleasant surprise given the low price. Rooms were nicer than we expected with built in fridge and microwave, comfy bed, and bathroom with wood finish cabinets and stone sink counter, shower and threshold. Everything was clean and nice.
Staff were friendly and courteous even at 2 AM. We requested a crib with the reservation, and when we checked in it was already in our room.
Breakfast was nice. The eggs were dry, but waffle maker made nice waffles, oatmeal and other items were quite good.
There's not only a pool but a hot tub.
Free breakfast, free parking, free airport shuttle, free WiFi, free crib, fridge and microwave, and for a great price. Thanks for a great stay!

Very clean! AC could be colder (but I like my rooms cold) but room temp was good for the average person. Easy check in and out! They actually checked us in early which was awesome and a blessing because we were tired driving in n from Texas.

Room was great service was great location outside was a lot of broken down cars on the right side of sidewalk

Had a king size bed. It was extremely comfortable. The room was clean and spacious. Staff was very helpful. It's in oakland.. so pay attention to your surroundings. Had no issues though while we were there.. just don't go east over the bridge. It's not an area you want to be in after dark. AT ALL!
