Osteria da Nino Italian Ristorante

I had such a pleasant experience here last night. My boyfriend and I are new to the area, so we decided to check out this place since it wasn’t expensive and liked the items on the menu. Our waiter was very nice and the owner was very attentive to make sure we enjoyed our experience. I got the squid ink pasta, my mom is on a specialty diet and got the salmon, and my dad got the Bolognese. For dessert we got tiramisu. We highly recommend this place for the food, ambiance, and family like atmosphere.

Been here twice while in town, both times service and food has been great. Owner is very friendly and it's all over the place helping out wherever he can. Will definitely return!

Delicious food! Ordered raw oysters, mussels in white wine sauce, clam pasta and chicken parmesan. Very yummy! Food was so good I was so happy eating it the entire time. Also very great, attentive service-- when we arrived we did not have a reservation, but we were given an option to be seated at the bar. We then ordered our food, staff joked with us multiple times and checked to make sure we were enjoying our food. Staff are friendly and just very good vibes at this restaurant! Authentic Italian food and I definitely want to come back someday soon. After I finished my food I was full, but still wanted to eat more!

My wife and I have been regulars at this fine restaurant ever since it opened. And last night we had a fantastic Christmas Eve dinner here! The delicious portions combined with the excellent service (and Nino's special talent for making everyone feel like family!) made for a very memorable experience. We will continue to return and urge everyone coming to Shirlington to check this place out. Highly recommended!

A great meal at Nino’s! The food and service (our waiter was Melendez) were terrific. Only about 7 minutes from downtown DC, those who won’t venture a little beyond the City don’t know what they’re missing. Nino the owner personally makes sure you have a great experience and that you eat and drink well!

Family friendly! The staff was wonderful and treated us like their family. Food was excellent too. The oysters, the spaghetti, and the wine were all very good. We will definitely be going back.

The food here is so good and so creative. The eggplant Parmigiano, for example, is rich and creamy and presented as if it were a torte. The restaurant does a lot of free wine tastings to get people in the door, but the locals looking for a freebie make a mistake by not staying for a great meal

This place is a must try. Very authentic Italian, nice setting and friendly staff. We tried a number of items, which obviously is a must when visiting a new place. All were very good and both preparation and presentation. Of everything we had, the carbonara definitely stood out. I am fairly confident in saying that it is the best I have had, and I have had a lot in many different cities. That alone is worth going back for. After dinner, the pistachio creme brûlée was a show stopper. We literally had to order a second one. We finished the evening with a nice chat with Nino. Always good to see a hands on owner that cares about the details. We will be back on our next trip. Thanks Nino!

Went to an event for a local animal rescue King Street Cats and loved it. The food was fabulous and the staff could not have been nicer. Lots of people there for their great Happy Hour drinks. Will definitely be back

It's an exceptional place that leaves you senseless with delicious smells that make you forget to grab photos of outstanding dishes. This is going to be a regular date night destination. Nino meets and greets in the evening and draws great joy in treating guests like they have entered his home. Homemade dishes with authentic tastes of Sicily. In fact, enjoy a tour of the eastern coast with the Osteria da Nino in 2023.

Excellent food and even better service! We came in late on a Friday night and sat at the bar. Outdoor tables looked nice as well. The owner greeted us and was so welcoming. Our bartender, Holt was awesome and very knowledgeable about the wine menu. We ordered the Branzino and the Lobster Fra Diablo special. It was absolutely perfect. We will definitely be making this our new go-to Italian spot!

Ninos is hands down one of the best restaurants in the the DMV. My family and I have been requesting this gem for 4 yrs now. The owner Mr. Nino is very warm and friendly. He visits every table to add a personal feel. The food, the ambiance, is amazing, and service is amazing.

We were there for a 25th anniversary dinner for friends. We had the private room, but their full menu. It was a treat. Nino (owner) was quite gracious, and took great care of us. He had good wines available, and ensured we had a fabulous time. Everything was done with flair. My wife and I are serious foodies. There were two surprises: the branzino was served skin side up to show off the grill marks, and the caesar salad was a full romaine spear, grilled. I usually de-skin my fish, so the skin up presentation worked well. I was a little ambivalent about the caesar, but it's worth another try. Not being tossed, I think it may have needed more dressing. Desserts were good, as were the appetizers.

Terrific Sicilian restaurant. Thoroughly enjoyed my meal and the experience was memorable.

EXCELLENT!! My wife had the bronzini fish, and I had the black ink spaghetti with seafood in a white cream sauce. The red wine by the glass was chianti from Tuscany. Very good.

Absolutely amazing experience, every single time. The food is wonderful, the wine and drinks are top-notch, and the staff are amazing, especially the owner. Could not recommended this place more.

Incredible food, Nino is a gem who makes sure every single thing that comes out of the kitchen is delicious and looks amazing and that every customer is well cared for and happy.

Wait staff is superb. It’s quiet, comfortable, and seriously- best Italian food in NoVA.

Food was absolutely delicious. Got the brussel sprouts as an app and the gnocchi as main plate as recommended by our waiter. He wasn’t the best and messed up a couple of items, also it wasn’t super busy and took awhile, but the owner/manager was awesome and explained the story behind the wonderful tasting pesto. It’s expensive but mostly worth it!
