Sunoco Gas Station

Very nice cashier let me use the rest room even though I didn't need gas.
It was very clean and nice.
I bought a drink as a thank you.

This place is one of few in the Ballston neighborhood. I lived across the street in the AVA building and it was truly a "convenient" store when I had late night cravings, or even felt the urge to treat the leasing staff at AVA.
The cashiers are nice enough as a gas station attendant. One even lived in near my hometown in Florida, so we connected off of that.
These poor reviews do not reflect the foot traffic / convenience of this gas station. Overall, this gas station is a good / safe one to use.

My go-to place to get gas. We live in the neighborhood. Always available, working pumps, reasonable prices.

Very clean public restroom, good gas prices and late night coffee that's hot! A cabbies dream...

The gas is very well priced. The store is a little crowded. I found the cashier very nice not sure why people complained here. The store is half a 7-11 also that is strange but helps with pricing maybe.

There is just always an issue at this gas station. I would estimate that the card readers at the pumps are only working about 50% of the time. A few months ago, their credit card system was down and they were only accepting cash. Earlier this morning, none of the pumps were working. It's frustrating as the nearest gas station is multiple miles away.

Cashier is rude and unprofessional. I tried to swipe my credit card and pump gas. The cashier got on the intercom and started yelling at me in a foreign language. I couldn’t understand him, so I replaced the nozzle and swiped my card. It declined. I called my credit card company and was told the merchant had declined the purchase. I pressed the “help” button on the keypad at the pump and said “Hello?” repeatedly. Cashier never responded. I guess this station doesn’t want any business, so they wont get another cent of my money ever again.

When we were there pumping gas 7/14 we saw at least 5 rats scurrying around the island between the street and the pumps and the grassy area next to the building.

Terrible experience. If you have a chip card, help yourself and use it outside for the gas. The chip function is not working on the card readers. Beware that the cashier guy will get angry if you accidentally pressed the debit entry and you had a credit card. Also make sure to swipe it 3 times if you plan to shop inside due to the bad credit card readers. Such a shame.

So the guy pumping his gas across from me drove off with the gas handle still in his truck, causing it to fling around the other side of his pump, and hit my car door so hard it left a dent. It also flung gas all inside my car, and on my 3 year old daughter. When I went inside to ask the clerk if they had cameras (I told him the situation) he told me "sorry, can't help you."
Keep in mind, he had cameras INSIDE the store and the guy who was at fault had gone inside to pay. So I had to call the police to get anything done. But by that time, it had surpassed the 30 minutes of film the gas station supposedly had. He could've helped me out, but chose not to. So now I'm stuck with a car that smells of gas, and a huge dent in my door. But that alone wouldn't make me leave a bad review. This place is just a dump period but I was desperate for gas. Learned my lesson.

Price gouging is ridiculous. Do better

The pumps are super slow. Not the place for gas if you need a quick refill...
