Highly recommend! Joy was one of the most personable and helpful bartenders I have ever encountered. I was not a "regular", traveling for a new job and away from my husband and son for the first time in many years, but she treated me as if I were. I found this unique restaurant and lounge on Google. Though they didn't have the fish and grits I originally saw in a review, Joy recommended I try their Catfish and even substituted the fries for cole slaw at my request... It was amazing. I quickly felt comfortable dining alone, had a wonderful meal and some great conversations. Looking forward to coming back in a few months. This will definitely be my "go to" place in the future!

Love the Globe and Laurel. Wonderful staff, amazing food and great atmosphere. We visit every time we are in town. The owner and staff are like family. So welcoming. Can’t say enough. Love it.

Basic bar food, nothing Majestic about it. Staff was friendly but don't go with a large group like we did. Meals came out at vastly different times. I was done with my meal before many at our table had been served. Interesting atmosphere if you are into military memorabilia.

I love the atmosphere at The Globe and Laurel. Military history displayed on the walls. The pasta was phenomenal. The portions are very generous. My husband had one of the burgers.

This is my new favorite place! The ambiance is nice, family oriented with a rich military history. Although the menu is not exhaustive what they make is very good. Met the chef today who made chicken and waffles with the chicken cooked inside of the waffle 😋 plus some chicken on the side. I had the fried fish and grits and have never had grits with a cajun spin on it. Delish! I've been back 3 times this week! And manager, Wayne Kelly is personable and kind.

Such an amazing experience and the food was great.
My favorite Was so much Marine Corps history. I could have spent a week reading and admiring the art. Such an amazing experience

All I can say is I went to smoke a stick after me and my girlfriend left the Bowman distillery and this place has the best atmosphere and some of the finest people I have met while being away from home. I didn't feel like a stranger but was welcomed like family. Good service , Matt is an awesome dude and was on point with service. We had a hard time leaving because of the service and people. A celebration of the armed services and the owner was like family. I will definitely be making trios back for weekend drives.

My family just bought a house in the area and we wanted to try out a local restaurant. The manager greeted us warmly and set up a table for us. The interior of the restaurant is incredible - full of military artifacts and seals of government agencies. There is a cigar bar on the site, so there is a tobacco smell in the restaurant. Our server was very friendly. She got confused about our order, but it all worked out. The food was plentiful and tasty. This is definitely a place worth visiting, even if you don't eat there.

Wait, there is still such a thing as a cigar lounge inside a restaurant? Of course, only impressive if you smoke cigars.

Decor is definitely antiquated but charming.

Service was okay. Served the wrong beers but owned the mistake when pointed out and comped the beers. Good job!

Food was decent bar food.

For our group of 8, it was a great place and experience.

Great place to wind down after a long day. The Chicken tacos and shrimp so tasty.
The line dancing was amazing 3 snaps in the air for the line dancing ladies.
Oh and the drinks also amazing thanks to the best bartender in the county BETH.

This place was recommended to us. Came here for a quick dinner, to be honest we didn’t expect much as we’ve never been in this area before but the service and food exceeded our expectations. Ordered grilled shrimp with rice and I must say, Chef did an awesome job with the seasoning. It was also a generous serving. Thank you.❤

My wife and I really enjoyed this place. The Globe and Laurel has a very unique feel and atmosphere to it. As a Marine, it is awesome to see all of the Marine Corps decor displayed throughout the entire restaurant. The owner is very hands on and involved with operations amd desires to ensure the best service is given. He will handle any problems that come up, regardless of how large or small they are. The wait staff is very kind and helpful when serving the guests. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice, chill, and relaxing place to grab a bite to eat.

P.S. If you are a Marine or know a Marine that lives out here or is visiting, you need to add this place as a place to stop by and grab something to eat.

Always great service and atmosphere! My first time at the cigar lounge and I received a wonderful education. The new owner came in during the height of the pandemic and I applaud him for his efforts in uncharted territory. Keep up the great work, great food and great vibes! I will be there every Thursday night.

We stumbled upon this excellent restaurant while trying to avoid the DC traffic. Food was great and the atmosphere was comfortable. Would definitely recommend this restaurant!

If you've not tried the Globe and Laurel's grilled shrimp, grilled salmon, chicken marsala, or the superior selection of bourbon, whiskey and wine; I highly recommend a detour as soon as possible. I've been back now on several occasions and they are under new management with top shelf results. I'll see you there!

The Globe and Laurel is an historic landmark in Stafford. It started out in downtown Quantico in the 1970's, then moved to Triangle after a fire destroyed the original site. It finally moved to the current location several years ago. Major and Mrs Rick Spooner truly made it into a wonderful restaurant and historic tribute to the Marine Corps. The Globe and Laurel survived a rocky transition after The Major retired, but is now open under a new owner and management which show great promise of a smashing revival!

We arranged for a group of 30 to meet for dinner there last week. Everyone had a wonderful time, thanks to the very welcoming staff. Although the staff was a bit short handed, they made sure our group was well served with good food and wonderful ambiance. Marines attending our affair included one WW II vet, several Vietnam vets along with wives family and friends, one Navy Corpsman as well as a couple of Basic School Lieutenants. What a great place for such a group to gather!

We highly recommend giving The Globe and Laurel a try. My husband and I are going back for lunch this week. The food was good!

This is a FANTASTIC restaurant that is a HIDDEN GEM on rte 1! From the moment you walk into the door of this place, you sense that something is very, very different... very respectful and personal. The serving staff is top-rate and the rooms are INCREDIBLE, especially if you are looking for a space to reserve for an event, such as a baby shower or wedding or bar mitzvah. The walls speak stories to those that have the willingness to listen, and you will find that going here is more of an experience and not just eating excellent food. The menu ranges from Americana to ethnic, and the owner is as personable as the staff. Ask about their discounts for first responders and consider eating here, even if it is for carry-out (though tables are separated so that parties are more than 6 feet apart for social distancing). If you are a local or even if you are in the area visiting, this place, however, is decorated so uniquely on the inside, you really must consider stopping by, as you feel like you have discovered a hidden room that belongs inside the Smithsonian with all of the precious artifacts around. Ask about their to-go menu, reserving the space for special events, and Managers' food specials. :)

We held a get together here after my veteran fathers funeral. And they were so accommodating, friendly, welcoming and professional. The food is amazing, the walls full of historical items. They even made a speech in honor of my dad. Forever grateful for what they have done for my family.
