What a good restaurant. Very nice eating area, great food, and excellent service! I absolutely loved our server, Cynthia. She’s incredible. So sweet but also gets the job done. We came on taco Tuesday so it was a great deal too! Thanks for a good night and great food. Maybe don’t come with a large group because they have a sign at the front making it clear they don’t like big groups. Signs say a lot.

Had an excellent experience. It was a busy Friday night, my date and i walked in and we were greeted and seated quickly. Our server (gentleman with long hair) was attentive, friendly and prompt. The staff checked in with us and took our plates when we were finished.

This place has great quality food. The staff is always professional and on their game 95% of the time, every once in a while they might forget to provide silverware and napkins but is that anything to get twisted about? Not in my book. I was also not a fan of the fact that they stopped providing free chips and salsa. I also was not a fan of the fact that for a single person sitting at the bar, they gave me a large basket of chips and I only ate a 3rd of them so the rest would go in the trash. If you think of this and imagine the amount of chips and salsa that go in the trash on a daily basis, you'd probably stop providing this as well. I originally was not happy with this but it is understandable from a business perspective. Especially when the cost of everything has doubled in the last year. This is why I am not sweating the small stuff and I am seeing the bigger picture. So, if you have not been here, give this great restaurant a try. Oh and if you really want the chips and salsa, you can order it for a price. I choose to forego the chis and get down with a great Chili Verde Green Burrito and one of the many craft beers on tap. My recent visit to The Mexican Restaurant in Hayward was an absolute delight! After not being there for a couple of years, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they had undergone a stunning remodel. The new colonial Spanish vibes create a spectacular aesthetic that instantly caught my eye.

For date night, my husband and I decided to sit at the bar, where we were promptly served our drinks. We started off with the Cristalino Tequila flight that was simply exquisite. Since it was a Friday during Lent, we opted for the shrimp quesadilla, which was incredibly tasty and filling.

The atmosphere on a Friday night was lively and bustling, with plenty of people enjoying their meals and drinks. I particularly enjoyed the playlist of Mexican music, which added to the overall experience.

Overall, The Mexican Restaurant exceeded my expectations with its beautiful ambiance, delicious food, and vibrant atmosphere. I can't wait to go back for another visit

We were a large group - 15 - and were accommodated quickly and graciously. House margs are great, as are chips and various dips. This is a good spot for a light meal and good drinks for a group.

My salad was on point. The salmon was perfectly cooked. My Cadillac Margarita 🔥
My friends taco salad was good but we missed that it didn't come in the tortilla bowl. Try the bread pudding, I love it!

My favorite Mexican restaurant in the area, never disappointed. They are authentic and have quality ingredients. Drinks are great, food is great, service is great. Thankful that the owner chose Hayward as their city to plant roots in, their establishments have made Hayward feel more like home. Highly recommend.

I stopped by here as I was in the area and absolutely loved this place! We ordered a couple of craft cocktails and a few appetizers. The cocktails were delicious and unique and I can’t wait to come back and try the others!

The ceviche was fresh and delicious and they were very generous with avocado and shrimp! I usually see other places skimping a bit on ceviche toppings so this was awesome! We also ordered the small tortilla soup, which was very comforting and a little more filling than I had expected. The chicken was cooked well and the broth was flavorful.

Other things to note: they have outdoor seating available with heaters above most tables. They also have a large parking with ample parking spaces.

First time back since covid and the remodel. Looks really nice inside. Food and drinks were always delicious, but it's even better than I remember. Staff is very friendly. The Christmas tree is beautiful, too.

This place is amazing. The cocktails are fantastic. Food is great! Even for a vegetarian like me. Atmosphere is fun and plenty of TV's to view games etc.
Staff is above average. Super attentive..but not overly attentive, which I appreciate. I will always return.

Excellent place, clean, a little cold because of the air conditioning, the excellent drinks bar. Food well served, excellent seasoning, good portion.

Three of us went to this restaurant on a Sunday night for a quick meet up. Our friend said they'd been here plenty of times before and absolutely love it, so we of course had to try it out ourselves. It was easy for us to find a location using Waze and we were quickly able to park and go in and get seated. Luckily for us we came in right before a game had started and also right before a gigantic work group came in to eat so we were quickly able to be seated and would have also gotten our food quickly. If one of our friends had actually looked through the menu. We of course were catching up, so we were talking a lot more and not really paying attention to the menu, but the person who was working with us (I truly wish I had gotten their name because they were absolutely the sweetest person ever) took his time with us. He came back and checked on us more than once, honestly more than five different times just to get our initial orders because we were not paying attention to the menus at all. And even after we ordered, of which the food was absolutely delicious, he continued to come over and check in with us about getting more drinks and desserts. Though I live sort of far from this area, I definitely will be going back to this location when I have the chance.

Probably Haywards best spot for food, drinks and fun! Definitely the best Tequila bar without a doubt!!!

The service is great, attentive and the food is delicious! The serving size is pretty big though, if you are not the biggest eater I might recommend splitting a plate with a friend. Other than that, it's a nice gem in it's area. Perfect for meeting with friends while watching your favorite game and having a great time!

Crab and shrimp enchiladas are wonderful. Perfect chicken fajitas, and an outrageously good combo (tamale and taco) absolutely a win. Three different margarita types (regular, midiori and mango), each met expectations. And a great presentation....

Yum! It’s now a tradition. We go to The Mexican Restaurant and Bar each year for very special occasions. Great atmosphere. You will be surprised and delighted!

Great food! I love the Torta especially The Mexican Torta El Pastor. The bean dip, tacos, and quesadillas are top notch as well. Great dining and got two halves one for setting and one for bar/sports so its custom to needs. The place is going through renovations and looking even better.
The service and people here are awesome.

The food, and service here was AMAZING!! I had the nacho fries with carne asada, and you could taste the lime, and cilantro! It was a good size portion, in couldn't even finish it!

Too pricey to eat for me this time, but I do love this place and the house pitcher of margaritas is the only thing I got everyday so far 😆
