Pizzaiola is an exceptional restaurant where you’ll want to order everything on their menu! We had Winter Chicory salad that was made of different kinds of chicories, apples and other ingredients that made me want to either get the recipe of just keep returning for more! We ordered a pizza with squash that was also spectacular. You could easily walk by Pizzaiolo since they have a simple wooden sign but once you’re inside it’s worth the wait for a table. They don’t take reservations and they are only open from 5 to 9pm on Mondays to Fridays , til 10 pm on Saturdays & Sundays

Servers really make you feel special here. Beautiful details in the art, dried wreaths and rustic interior. Great date night away from kids. All food items feel like they were made with love of ingredients. Puntarelle and margherita pizza recommended. Crab was also delicious.

Absolutely amazing food. Really carries Chez Panisse like care for detail and ingredients. Service is also great and a nice casual atmosphere.

I went to Pizzaiolo with a large party for an celebration brunch, and our experience was incredible! Every dish was amazing, including the desserts. I would recommend the acme bread, caesar salad, margherita pizza, and the ricotta donuts!

Delicious pepperoni pizza, fried chicken and house-made focaccia with burrata. Bottles of wine are half off on Tuesdays which makes them more affordable. Otherwise most bottles are $50-$60+ and even a carafe of house red is $50!

On of my favorite places here in Temescal. Food is excellent. Menu changes often so you never get bored but also could get disappointed when you order the same thing and it looks different.

This place was good. My only thing that I disliked was the wait time. For 2 people on a Sunday night took 45 mins. We almost gave up, but we were too invested. We ended up sharing a table with another couple. The pizza was great and the antipasta was very good. The salads here are great. All great choices. Cocktails are good too. I would return and hope the wait times aren't too long next time.

My husband and I were planning a small wedding in April and, in searching for a place to have our dinner reception, we found Pizzaiolo. The second we checked it out, we knew it was right. The quality of food at Pizzaiolo is really impressive and they make patio dining feel intimate and fun at the same time. We are so happy with our choice to have them host our reception. Everything was better than expected and the staff was so sweet and welcoming. The vibe was very laid-back but it was the perfect way to celebrate with our close friends and family. Maggie set up the whole thing and she was amazingly helpful, planning the menu and making sure everything was prepared. She was also responsive to all my questions and helped me with various details in the planning process. Thank you to Maggie and everyone at Pizzaiolo for treating us so well and sharing an unforgettable day with us!

Brunch is a recent addition to pizzaiolo’s repertoire - and it is killer. We had the breakfast salad (I love California cuisine 👌🏻) which was so nicely balanced with veggies and egg and breadcrumbs and cheese; the short ribs (tender and juicy and bangin); the fritters (🤤) and a piquant Avo and citrus salad. Oh and the best bloody I’ve had in the east bay! (Must love anchovies.) also plenty of outdoor seating and great service to boot. Mwuah!

Amazing food and atmosphere. The persimmon and fennel salad was delicious. Ava and Willow were extremely accommodating and made our whole dining experience special and memorable.

One of the best restaurants in Temescal. Make sure you show up early so you get a table or put your name on the waitlist. Grab a cocktail from the bar and wait in the parklet outside!

Indoor dining has great vibes and the open kitchen is so cool. I don't think you can go wrong with any choice on the menu.

Start with the creamy burrata and fresh focaccia or the little gems salad. Finish with ANY of their pizzas. They are all immaculate. The crust is what dreams are made of and it's the perfect base for all of their topping options.

The best brunch, bread and dinner. Love their back patio, great for casual brunch. LOVE the buttermilk doughnuts. I would visit just for the doughnut and during the fall they have pumpkin doughnuts. Their fresh breads are excellent. Make a reservation for dinner. Parking in this area can be sketchy at night.

After walking around the cute back alley, thankfully stopped here at the right time for a drink and pizza to go! The two drinks we had were both super solid along with the pizzas. The crust was cooked to perfection along with just the right amount of toppings for Margherita and Mushroom pizzas. Looking forward to being back to try the other items on the menu soon. Come early or order takeout pizza early since right after we got ours around 530, the kitchen stopped taking take out orders until 830 due to getting busy. Perfect timing *wink

😩🙌🏾 ORDER THE LASAGNA BOLOGNESE.... the best ever!! It comes sizzling hot in this round pottery dish straight out the oven oozing cheese and its the best thing ever. Top 10 dishes of my life. Also, the entire vibe of this place is so chic and trendy. The only bad thing is there is no sign, so hard to spot driving down the street. But worth the missed turn or two. I also had the vodka tonic and that was amazing!!

This restaurant is simply perfect!

Staff were friendly and professional, and the food was so good!
We ordered premixed cocktails and wine and sat on the street-side patio while we waited for our table. The wait wasn't long and even though it was freezing outside, they took care of that with heaters throughout the patio area (enough for me to cuddle with one haha). I wish I remembered my servers name but everyone I interacted with was amazing.

The ambiance outside was quiet, cozy and romantic. Absolutely loved it.

update 2022: The new brunch menu is amazing. Dinner and bar remain excellent

And I thought it was a pizza joint! The Roast pork chile verde was out of this world and the Sail Out cocktail (s 😝) were stiff as homemade. Go eat here and thank me later.

Our favorite and most visited restaurant in Oakland by far. Great food, service, warm atmosphere, and amazing food. Love this place!!!

Was quite impressed by the quality of the total experience.
Being in great company also was a contributing factor.

Meatballs al Pizzaiolo was a hit, the toast is no ordinary toast, you can believe no sauce was left behind!

Same can be said for the bolognese sauce, this was the best dish of all three.

The pizza was delicious as to be expected, but the variety and quality of all dishes took this to an authentic Italian experience.

Oh, let's not forget the hand crafted cocktail, the Kentucky Devil, it was amazing.
