She’s done countless of jeans for me snd they’ve all come out feeling so fitted and amazing. Can’t recommend enough. Might feel a little pricy, but we should all be supporting small local businesses.

I’ve been getting alterations and dry cleaning here for years. I’ve always been satisfied with the quality of work and service. I’m not a regular customer but I am a forever customer. The owner is always very friendly, very honest about what is achievable with dry clean, and never tries to push a sale. I had my wedding skirt taken in here 7 years ago and the owner did an immaculate job at a very reasonable price. I come in a few times a year to get pieces adjusted and I know my clothes are always in great hands. Thank you for your service! You truly are the best!!!

After being told that a zipper on one jacket would cost $35 and another zipper would require a heavy duty sewing machine and could not be fixed at their shop, I went to Encinal Dry Cleaners and Alterations. The mother of the cashier was able to fix both zippers easily with pliers and refused to take any money for her work. I am thrilled with the results and can now wear both of these jackets that had been in the closet for a long time. I can't say enough about this business! I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The lady who works here is very professional, responsive and does quality work. I have had alterations done here and they have always exceeded my expectations and completed in a timely manner. I highly recommend this place for alterations.

The service here is AMAZINGLY friendly. Not only are the prices fair, and the work impeccable, but you can't leave the store without a cold bottle of water from the fridge and candy! Seriously, they always greet you with a smile and they remember your name and order from the week before without having to look up your phone number in a computer! This is what makes a fantastic local neighborhood service business! 5 stars on all points!

Nice lady for service, not upfront when I asked how much for the alterations, way more than what I expected when I picked it up. The prior persons comment about the wonderful experience getting a zipper fixed is no longer a valid claim at this business.

Friendly service however, I just took my clothes out of the plastic for a wedding and there is lint all over them. Spotty job, won’t be back.

THE SHORT VERSION: I brought in a shirt to be altered. They weren't able to alter it so it would fit me properly. They tried twice and then said it was as good as it was going to get. The shirt still doesn't fit me properly, but they wanted me to pay them $70 for altering it anyway.

THE LONG VERSION: I brought in a shirt which I hoped to wear when performing. It needed to be hemmed and also the sleeves didn't fit right. They were too long and also there was too much fabric around the diameter of the sleeves and on the chest. (It's hard for me to find clothes that fit my style and size off the shelf). I don't know anything about clothes alterations, but they took measurements and thought they could do what I needed. for $70.

I came back about a week later to pick up the shirt and found that the hemming was fine but that the sleeves were unwearable and fit very strangely. Too narrow around the arms, pulling at the back and lots of fabric on the chest. I showed the problems to them and left the shirt there to be redone. Later I got a call from the owner saying that they had done what I wanted them to do. Well, no. I'm in no position to give advice to a tailor. I need them to be the experts. But she agreed to redo the work.

Then I didn't hear back from them for a week or a week and a half. Finally called in and was told that the shirt was ready. Today I went to pick it up. The sleeves are better than before but the shirt still doesn't look right in the upper sleeves and chest area. They explained to me that this is the best they could do. According to them the fabric is stiff and there is no way to alter it so that it looks better on me. One of the tailors also tried to convince me that the problem was intermittent and the shirt looks okay on me some of the time.

Well, the shirt really doesn't look good enough on me to wear in public while performing. Disappointing. I'm willing to accept that they couldn't figure out a way to alter it in a way that fits better. I don't know if that's lack of skill or if it really can't be done, but in any case, the shirt is of no use to me the way it is.

I offered to pay them just for the hemming, which would have been $35 instead of $70. I even offered to pay $40. I thought that was a fair compromise since I didn't get what I needed. But the owner kept insisting on $70 and wouldn't budge. She said she had already paid the tailor. But why are they making this my problem?

They were also trying to explain to me that they weren't miracle workers and that this wasn't going to be a shirt that was tailored exactly to my body. That's fine. I wasn't expecting a miracle, just a shirt that fits decently.

The way I see it, if they could tell ahead of time that they couldn't alter the shirt in a way that would fit me, they should have explained that to me at the start and not tried to take the job. On the other hand, if they thought they COULD do it, but it turned out that it didn't work, they shouldn't charge me for the work. If I take my car to the mechanic to fix something and it turns out they don't have the right parts or the right skills, they return the car to me and don't charge me, or maybe they charge a minimum fee. I think this alterations place should do the same.

After trying for some time to negotiate with the owner about payment and the owner being completely inflexible, I said I would just leave the shirt and walk away without payment. They weren't happy with that either, asking what they were supposed to do with the shirt. Finally the owner said take your shirt and don't come back here. Which I won't.

This place is horrible had to come back twice after refusing my clothes to first time because it was not as I asked and when I brought it back the second time it look like someone just took an iron over it to try to correct the mistakes it had black marks across my clothes it was the worst dry cleaning experience I've ever had
