I was born in Milwaukee, known for its German heritage. Before this day, I never had amazing German food outside of Wisconsin, especially in the East Bay. Well, that has changed, so consider me now a lifetime customer. It was perfect meal.

Such a nice deli! Hilarious postcards and art up on the topic of head cheese*. *Contains no cheese. :)

Lovely German family owned deli. Perfect spot to grab a quality well made sandwich. Glad this place is nearby work. Features a nice selection of imported European goods such as beer, wine, cheese, & snacks. They have specials at great deals. Friendly service.

Family owned deli serving freshly made, delicious sandwiches. They also have a good selection of sides as well as plates of food (e.g. bratwurst). You can even grab imported German treats while you're there, as they have a few shelves of snacks, breads, etc.

The staff there are always nice and welcoming and they really seem to take pride in how they prepare your food and provide service.

One of my favorite local eateries and highly recommend!

We've been so curious about the Junket but only got to eat there today. We normally go to the El Cerrito Plaza after work and this place closes at 5pm. We jusy love this place. Great tasting freshly made sandwiches with a great selection of breads. My hubby found his blood tongue on a Dutch crunch roll sandwich really delicious. They also have friendly staff. There is a good sized selection of pastries and goodies from Europe. Oh and they have great German beers too!

I love getting lunch here. Great sandwiches, sides/drink selection, and service! Last time I went I got a turkey sandwich on focaccia, coleslaw, a bottled chia seed drink (to add some fiber, eh?!), and a cookie... it was a delicious feast! My friends got draft beers to go with their sandwiches and chips.

I’m pretty sure it’s a family owned and operated business... definitely has that feel. Also has a really great vibe with indoor or outdoor seating and a nice layout. And seems like a great place to get a coffee beverage with a pastry.

Delightful place, the servers are always pleasant, and it has a nice atmosphere. They have a great selection of English and German foods to eat or buy from the shelves, as well as great sandwiches, pies and desserts. I go there to get my favorite English candy, cookies, sauces, Bisto gravy, frozen pies, you name it!

Such wonderful, warm customer service. So many of them helped me out. Sandwiches are delicious. Easy going, relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a morning or afternoon meal here with a hot coffee beverage or cold beer. I feel welcome each time I go here.

My first visit after Junket was recommended by a foodie friend. Excellent roast beef sandwich on a fresh and crusty french roll. Several German beers on tap. Deli meats and cheeses for sale including some hard to find German ones. A modest selection of German and British groceries. Maybe the selection will increase as pandemic fades. I'll be back. Trader Joes is just a few doors away so I can combine visits.

I always get a turkey sandwich on focaccia and it's always absolutely delicious. I also will sometimes get a dessert which is also very tasty. It's a family owned and operated business and part of why I love coming here is seeing the family. The service is excellent and they offer a great variety of European (mostly German) products.

I am 44 now and I think the Junket has been around since I was about 10. And even though my mom was Swiss it provided her with taste from home. Great German wine and beer section. Food is always good.

Best chicken salad sandwich!! I've been eating it almost weekly for 4 years (as of the date of this review). Great variety of drinks & beers. They also have a princess torte/cake and it has become my achilles heel.

Awesome place! German/British eatery with a small marketplace where you can pick up all sorts of German and UK goods that you would not normally find elsewhere. Must be nostalgic for anyone who has spent a considerable amount of time in Europe. The food and service were GREAT! Would return in a heartbeat.

A hidden European gem with British and German food on the menu. Half delicatessen half cafe, this place is a must-visit if you miss Euro food, wine or candy. Or beer. Or gifts. They really have a bit of everything. Even Norwegian brown cheese.

Place is even suitable to sit and work in if this is your kind of ambiance.

The nice lady at the counter helped our indecisive seleves choose something and we got a rueben and a hot pastrami with Swiss on rye as well as a cider and a hot chocolate. Both sandwiches we're absolutely divine. It knocked Saul's out of the park by a long way, in my opinion. It felt like I was on the east coast again. We are definitely coming back for more soon!! I want to try some of their importef selection on the upper end of the sandwiches.

Suggestion:
Rueben
Hot pastrami with Swiss on rye

German and British import foods, and a killer deli where you can get sammies.

Amazing husband and wife duo are amazing. They are proud of their head cheese, but I've never had it because head cheese is gross.
