I've previously been a fan of this place specifically for their breakfast burrito. It's huge, distinctive, life-changing, even, the best breakfast burrito I've ever had. However, the past couple times I've ordered it, the recipe seems to have been altered: instead of generous hunks of pastrami, it seems to have no meat at all and a load of mushrooms. The other food is fine, but that was the star attraction for me.

Yum! A nice selection of Jewish deli classics, some with a modern twist. Try the hot pastrami with kimchi, or an everything bagel heaped in fresh veg and capers.

While a bit pricey for an everyday pop-in, might be best for a special treat after being good about going to the gym.

Smartly decorated interior with sunny, self-serve seating outside as well.

This is my favorite place. The employees are friendly and courteous. I always get breakfast here before going to work. They knew my order by heart.

Delicious unique foods and friendly young African American workers .

They offer variety of bagels , Salmon and other sandwiches.

They also make their own souse and pickles . A must try cafe .

I have had bagels in Queens, Brooklyn, Long Island, Manhattan. Wise Sons’ bagels are some of the best I have had. A great find in Oakland, thank you.

Wow. The best vegetarian Ruben I've ever had.

Tried the OG Ruben with pastrami and iced honey cake coffee. Pretty good overall. Sandwich was pretty meaty. Coffee was “not so sweet” which is perfect. Wish it had a stronger coffee flavor. Will be back

Did a walk up order for a bagel. Was "in and out" within 5 mins! For my first bagel with them, I kept it simple and ordered a plain bagel with a smoked salmon shmear to see how the bagel looked itself. I think it was a great bagel!! Nice golden coloring and shine, yummy soft inside, and a pretty delicate crunch on the outside. For all intents and purposes, this was an awesome bagel, and I will be back for sure :)

I ordered their turkey club sandwich via delivery app. Not sure if they use higher quality ingredients, some secret something in the bread, or what was up, but it was good. Really good. Best tasting club I can recall having, and I order them pretty regularly. Nice job, folks. I’ll be looking forward to the opportunity to try more from your menu the next time I am in the area!

I pre order through their website (for rewards points). I've always had great service. Sandwiches are delicious as well as the matzo ball soup. I find their bagel chips are sliced too thick so they are hard. Their bagels are very good, don't forget the side of cream cheese.

I love Wise Sons on Franklin St, it’s become my favorite place for a tasty breakfast sandwich. They have the best rye bread I’ve ever tasted! Also, the staff are always very nice when I stop by.

They make it easy and safe to order and pick up incredible food! Went for breakfast and bought a burrito (SO GOOD!) and I think I'll go back tomorrow for French toast ;)

Honestly the guy who reviewed below me has the whole situation twisted. Wise Sons is an amazing place to grab a bagel at a relaxing pace on Sunday. If you want to plow through your Sunday like it's a Monday maybe the wait isn't for you, but the bagels are worth it. The clerk, Manuel, was so nice and upfront about the wait from the time we ordered. He mentioned this location was new several times. We will be coming back to enjoy yummy bagels and kind service :)))))

Definitely the best bagels around and the most professional service one could ask in any demographic. This shot in particular they are the epitome of how a Wise Son's employee should be. From cashier to manager the entire staff is appreciated by countless neighborhood folk and workers . Much appreciated always

The bagels are fantastic. Not a lot of options for deli which is surprising given this is downtown Oakland but if you're anywhere near 17th Street put this place on your map! The Reuben sandwich is also excellent.

Good reuben sandwich to go for lunch back at the office. Great service at order taking, and my food was ready quickly. The rye had a perfect toast, and the pastrami was a solid 7-8. The russian dressing was slightly too much for my taste, but that's on me for not asking or being more specific with my order.

Always gotta have that bagel and coffee. The best bagels in the bay. I do wish they had slightly more vegan options, but they still have a sufficient menu. Open for indoor eating.
