Best market in Oakland hands down! The staff is absolutely phenomenal. Not only are they warm and welcoming but they are also SO knowledgeable about everything in their store. If you need any sort of wine, craft canned cocktail, beer, or really any sort of beverage THIS is the place.

Howden Market has a really nice selection of high-end alcohol with great customer service! I've been shopping here for years and always enjoy coming here. The building is really beautiful and inviting.

Fun alternative surprises around every corner! I have a lot of diet restrictions. Howden has a great selection of products that help me from creating a full meal or grabbing a few snacks that range from healthy, locally-made, gluten-free, paleo, gourmet, and fun while stocking some classics and favorites. Not to mention, it’s conveniently located next to a great resta/bar/and local live entertainment spot.

Howden Market has an amazing selection of wine and the on-site sommelier helped me choose a perfect bottle for my dinner that evening and I’ll be back for more and maybe a craft beer next time.

So it’s a normal overpriced tiny grocery with friendly employees, BUT. THEIR COOKIES ARE GODLIKE AMAZING. The ones from the front counter. Omg. I don’t know where they get them but that’s pretty much the exclusive reason I go there.
