House of Dumplings 水餃之家

Haven’t been able to come for a while and man, still delicious little nuggets of joy! Love these dumplings and the multilayer green onion pancake. Even my girls (7&9) loved the multilayer green onion pancake and the chicken and corn dumplings. They ate the whole dozen of them between them and a piece of the pancake each.

I ordered the 3 flavor dumplings (pork shrimp and chives) and my mom got the fish and chives.

The service was fine, though with only one person working the front she was super busy. We are patient though and got everything we ordered and ate while we were there at one of the 5 small tables.

Ambiance isn’t amazing because it’s so small and a little cramped but the dumplings are definitely worth it. The multilayer pancake is delicious and crispy as well.

I wish we lived closer but sadly I live in Knoxville so I can only come when I visit family. If you love dumplings, you need to visit the House of Dumplings. They sell frozen dumplings you can cook at home too.

Additional Edit: Still one of my favourite places to visit when I'm in town. Just the perfect place to slowly drink some tea, and enjoy some perfect dumplings!

Came here last year with a friend, and when I'm in the area I try to come here as much as I can. I really love the dumplings here, they are really authentic and have really good flavour. There are other things other than dumplings if dumplings are not for you! The family that runs the place here are always super friendly. Definitely worth your money here!

Nice hole in the wall Chinese food known for obviously their dumplings. Next time we want to try their honey walnut shrimp. Small place won’t be good for big groups. We will definitely be back since the quality for price was good.

I sat in the car waiting a half an hour for this place to open, and it was worth the wait.
The menu doesn't have any pictures, but you shouldn't worry, as there are several pictures on the wall. Also, don't feel shy about asking the waitress for recommendations. She gave us a whole review of what's popular for each section of the menu. Very friendly.
The food was good. You can tell the dough for the dumplings is all made in-house. All necessary dipping sauces are on the table for you to assemble your own concoction.
The place is a bit small, but I believe they have to-go orders if you can't get a table.

Mom and pop place, it seems. Very casual and unpretentious. The dumplings were great. We also had black mushrooms, they were delicious. Scallion pancakes and fried tofu - pretty good too. Service was very friendly

20 or more years now I believe that I have been coming here. Every time the food and service has been phenomenal. Not a single complaint in all these many years speaks for itself. I live within walking distance so one can imagine the frequency with which I frequent this restaurant and they are an absolute delight every time. By the by, Chinese food in general is not my favorite however this place certainly is and continues to sway my opinion towards the good. Fortunately House of Dumplings exists. Unfortunately they have ruined my chances of being happy with any other Chinese food restaurant. I’m still thinking this is a good conundrum being that House of Dumplings does indeed exist😋.

I googled Chinese food and stumbled upon this little gem. I arrived 30 min. prior to closing for take out. Ordered veggie chowmein, shrimp stir fry and veggie rolls. The food was not greasy, well seasoned and yummy! It took me back to the 70's in SF Chinatown! I'll be coming back! Owner is really nice and friendly.

Chinese Dumplings and other foods. Relatively cheap, tasty.

I literally searched for this place on Google again just to write up a review. Best jiaozi dumplings I've had in the Bay Area so far, and the people who run the restaurant (seems to be a mom and pop type establishment) are super friendly. They speak both Chinese and English, and they will enthusiastically recommend items on their menu if you tell them what you like.

The jiaozi dough is excellent and filling is tasty and generous. A pet peeve of mine is jiaozi filling that has sugar added resulting in a "sweet" taste, so I was relieved and happy to find that the pork and napa cabbage dumplings I tried were savory, without any sweetness.

For dessert, have very delicious taro baozi (buns) - if you like fresh taro paste, you won't be able to just eat one, I promise you ;)

If dumplings are not for you, they also have noodle soups and other dishes.

Finally, you can buy bags of frozen dumplings for a very reasonable price too. Bring cash for that.

Only downside is that it's a small shop, so not good for big groups.

Will definitely be back to try their other dumplings and items!

Top tier dumplings!! Small mom and pop spot.

Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, decent prices.. what's not to love? We checked it out on a whim since we were nearby and were not disappointed. Definitely recommend!

This little place has great food with lots of flavor. The dumplings are delicious and come in 12 pieces. The inside is really small sits maybe 20 people. The beef noodle soup is a hidden gem if ur interested in soup. The other good thing is the owner she has great customer service.

It's a tiny hole in the wall with about eight tables. But its dim sum ranges from good to excellent. We tried three things. Our waitress warned us that the 'spicy' chicken wings weren't spicy... Her warning was accurate. Less spicy than American 'spicy' chicken wings, but otherwise better than any chain. The soup dumplings were excellent: salty broth inside pasta. Only the pork buns didn't thrill me. Highly recommended.

If you are looking for authentic northern Chinese foods, this place offers quite some.

They offer both meat and vegetarian versions of dumplings. The dumplings are 100% handmade and taste great: soft wrapping with pretty full fillings. The vegetarian fillings are made of fresh vegetables. When you taste them, you feel very refreshing, not a bit of greasy. This makes you wanted to eat a lot of them. Yummy!

The Green Onion Pancake is crispy outside, soft inside with a good number layers of green onions and pastry. There are plenty of green onions providing a great flavor of the pancake. Very tasty!

Probably from the beginning of last year I visit House of dumplings. Food: Delicious delicious home taste! Worth recommending! As a less senior but always have a little love to eat dumplings and Soup dumplings(小笼包), I feel that the store is a little small, if more with a few small partners (add up about 8 people) feel squeezed out of the doorway. and Tianjin steamed stuffed bun! I almost forgot, whether it's meat or vegetable meat, it's delicious (if they can put a little more of stuffing to it would be better:). Service: they are nice! You will feel that if you come visit😉

The best green onion pancake and some of the most delicious dumplings are served at this restaurant. It's small and not suited for large parties, but worth a visit! Karen, the owner, is such a beautiful soul!

Friendly neighborhood restaurant; excellent northern-style Chinese food.
Top recommendations are hand-made dumplings from their pretty wide selection (my favorite is chicken and corn), fruit flavored crispy chicken wings. Also great cold dishes: spicy numbing tendons and cucumber with boiled peanuts.
Many appetizers and cold dishes are illustrated on the wall with photos, which is helpful if you're never had this type of food before. Nice wait staff. Feel free to ask them for recommendations you need help ordering. The owner is really nice and she knows many of her customers.

The food here is very fresh, made to order, and very tasty. If you are vegetarian or vegan, this is one of the only dim sum places where you can find vegan options. This is a small place, so try to come not during peek hours, so you won't have to wait. The service is very friendly and helpful. This is an authentic place, and recently worth exploring if you are in the area
