Amazing boutique style hotel with amazing city and marina views. Excellent and accommodating staff.

During my stay, I encountered a minor issue with my room, but Alex the manager handled it with the utmost professionalism and efficiency. Not only did they promptly address the issue, but they also went above and beyond to ensure that I was completely satisfied with my stay.

Alex as well as the rest of his staff demonstrated exceptional problem-solving skills and genuine care for the comfort and satisfaction of their guests. Their attention to detail and commitment to providing excellent customer service truly set them apart.

I look forward to returning to this hotel in the future and experiencing the unparalleled hospitality that Alex and their team provide.

Best hotel in the 510! My wife and I enjoy staying here every time we come into town. We recently stayed here and was immediately met with great service from Alex. I am a Hyatt employee but I never ask for any special privileges but he made sure to make us feel special by making sure we were comfortable in our room and even gave us a balcony view! We travel alot around to different hotels but this by far is one of our favorites. Thank you to the staff for being great hosts for my family.

Excellent service from the moment we stepped out of the car! Such a cute hotel with vintage touches and feels cozy. Had a nice view that we didn’t get to enjoy since we arrived late and left for an early flight but will definitely consider staying here when we’re back in the future.

My first time visiting the Waterfront Marriott at Oakland. We booked the penthouse suite and it was an excellent experience. When you open the doors, you are welcome to a gorgeous view of the waterfront. The Oakland ferry is right next door and Marina is beautiful.
The suite was well kept and Clean and perfect for that weekend get away. Overnight valet parking will set you back $40 per night which is put towards your room bill. The hotel offers a heated pool which we did not use because our room came with a Jacuzzi. The penthouse suite also comes with a full kitchen and a comfortable living room. Being located right in the center of Jack London Square. There are plenty of food options, nice walking trails and good police and security presence to keep you safe. One annoying thing was the trains that keep passing down the street which can be very noisy. Even during the nights. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay here and recommended it to future visitors.

Love the waterfront and will always make a point to stay here when in town. The location is safe and has plenty to see and do, and the rooms are fantastic. Front desk and valet staff are very pleasant and helpful- all around a 5 star property!

We came in town for a concert and stayed at this hotel for the night and we had a wonderful time. From the moment we arrive, we were provided with great customer service. They gave us a wonderful room on the fifth floor that had a beautiful view of Scott’s, which is a seafood restaurant right next-door to the hotel. It is centrally located in Oakland and across the street from Yoshi‘s restaurant where the concert was actually taking place. You can literally walk to Yoshi’s from this hotel. The room was nicely designed and clean and again I cannot emphasize the great customer service we were provided . I highly recommend this location . Keep in mind parking is $40 a day. You will also hear the Amtrak train as it comes past the hotel but it’s not that loud and the hotel is accommodating. If you look in your night drawer, they supply you with complementary ear plugs so that you’re not distracted by the train noise, and after a certain time the train stops running, so you definitely will still get a good nights sleep.

Had a great room with a water facing balcony. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was well laid out and everything they said it would be. Loved this spot.

Wonderful hotel with great staff. A very short (about one to two minute) walk to ferry which takes you to the Ferry Station on Embarcadero in SF

Great location, spacious rooms, and friendly staff. The view from my room was beautiful and the area was walkable with great options for dining. Definitely recommend. My only complaint is that I could hear people walking above me (I was on the second floor) but other than that, the noise was minimal.

We took Amtrak from Sacramento to Jack London Square and stayed the night at the Waterfront. It was way better than I expected. The rooms are nicely decorated. The pool is right next to the water and the lobɓy area was comfortable and beautiful. We really had a good time.

Great stay. Very convenient location with a ferry to San Francisco only a 2 minute walk away. The rooms were very clean and well stocked.

I have been staying in multiple hotels in the area and this has to be the best one. They had in and out Valet for no extra charge. The room was very spacious and the view was beautiful. They have a great selection of restaurants if you are looking to eat something good. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay in an affordable place.

Nice hotel, not prefect but very good service, clean, and good size rooms

Hidden gem. Beautiful place if visiting the bay area or a staycation. No room service, but have a bar and grill attached. They offer valet parking and breakfast and a heated pool overlooking the bay.

Very comfortable hotel located on the water with plenty to do within walking distance.

We spent a great week at the Waterfront Hotel! The staff is especially helpful and friendly. Every request was taken care of and/or personally delivered within minutes. It is close to the ferry to San Francisco and just 12 blocks from the BART station. We felt pretty safe at the hotel. There is a front desk person and a valet and they have a small parking lot, although we didn't have a car. ($40 overnight per day) The surrounding area is fine during the day and ok at night if you are not too far away. We went in a group of 4 at night and we were all good walking from the train, but there are a few sketchy spots easily avoided. There are a lot of restaurants in the area. We loved the Buttercup Diner and later night meal at Slainte. We also found a wonderful shop for desserts called U C dessert. I definitely recommend trying the bingsoo! The rooms are cute with a nautical theme, very comfortable beds, clean and spacious. The view of the bay and docks are really pretty. There is a nice common area with a fireplace and there is a pool.
pro tips:
*Get the clipper app for transportation. The ferry, busses and subway all accept it as well as MUNI.
*Take an Uber to/from the airport. We were quoted $25-30 and the very nice towncar we took was $75 plus tip.

The hotel is like an oasis in the middle of the desert. Oakland itself is not a desirable area to be in. We were warned by security guards in the area that we should stay safe and avoid going far from the hotel.

But this hotel and Jack London Square itself is just amazing. The waterfront view of the marina and the view of the restaurants gives you a feeling of being in a high-end area, instead of Oakland. The room was excellent, housekeeping staff was wonderful. The restaurants around the hotel were superb, and the food was excellent. In the evening and especially on the weekends, this area is packed with people who come for the ambience of the area. We always took a stroll after dinner to see the area all lit-up.

Definitely a place to go back too. But everyone should be extremely careful of wandering far from the hotel & Jack London Square.
