Very nice and quiet rooms. Check-in was self service, we had all the basic needs in the room (mini fridge, coffe machine, laptop desk, TV, hair dryer). Take into account there's no parking place so the car must be left somewhere else

Stayed here one evening in Feb, the place is brand new. Very clean and modern. All of the rooms face a courtyard. The grape vines in the courtyard are over 100 years old. Very comfortable and quiet. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. I'd stay here again

I was a bit reluctant from the curbside presence, however the staff has been wonderful and the rooms are great.

So, this place is half hotel, half AirBnB. As near as I can tell, the Trending Wine people bought a building in downtown Oakland not knowing what to do with the second floor (which used to be office space, you can still see the mail slots in the door). They apparently decided to turn those offices into hotel rooms.

There is no full-time staff available overnight, you'll check in down at the wine store and get a code to access the building during evening hours.

Good:
- While the building is old, all the elements in the room are brand new. The bathrooms in particular have some very stylish (and not cheap) pieces like a gorgeous barn door entry and the shower doors are lovely. The sink is also lovely.
- Affordable hotel rooms in downtown Oakland are hard to come by, a lot of people travel on business and have expense limitations. There is a big hole in the market between the sub $200 a night range and the lowest price available at the Marriott Courtyard during the working week when business travelers are looking for rooms. Trending Inn does help fill that hole.

Bad:
- The rooms are all on the second floor and there is no elevator. Be prepared to haul your gear up the stairs.
- As nice as some of the elements to the room are, they really whiffed on the beds. The bed frames are noisy and cheap, every time I rolled over it sounded like something broke. The mattress is also bottom of the barrel and the sheets are the thinnest textile ever shipped out of China.
- There's no interior lock so a guest can't ever feel comfortable that no one is going to come barging through the door.
- No blackout drapes to darken the room during daylight hours.
- It really felt to me like the rooms were designed to photograph very well but not planned for anyone to actually stay in them - for example there was no box of tissues, no spare roll of toilet paper, no easy access electrical outlets for travelers to easily charge devices, and there's no shelf in the shower stall for soaps or toiletries.
- The towels were extremely thin and my floor mat had shoe prints on it like it hadn't been washed or was stained and the management is too cheap to throw it out or consign it to rags.

Also note that the only restaurants within a two block radius are all Chinese, which the lone exception of a pizza joint (which was very good).

Advice to management:
-check mini fridges. My room had very old Chinese food from a previous guest in the fridge that smelled up the whole room.
-provide hand soap and lotion on sink
-check water pressure. Sink was shooting water on the floor
-White linens. Gray sheets feel dirty like you are trying to hide a lack of cleanliness.
-Better quality towels

Surprisingly quiet. Comfortable room except desk is not ergonomic for computer use. Could fit a sitting chair and a suit case stand. The patio is inviting but the lobby less so. Good area for lunches and dinners. Breakfasts are mostly coffee shops.

Just know first of all that this location is in an extremely dangerous area of Oakland. Literally the first thing we saw after parking was a clearly insane homeless man with a pocket knife about 10 feet from the entrance. All night long you WILL hear every car radio that goes by (believe me the music is at maximum volume), if you try to walk outside after 9pm you will be bothered by multiple groups of 5 or more random men dressed in matching colors who seem to just want to stand on the sidewalk beside the hotel entrance for no real reason that could mean anything positive. The rooms are made to look good online but once you get there you realize that you have to let the water run for "5 minutes before it gets hot." Believe me when I say that it takes a minimum of 15. I asked the front desk person (the following day, as you're sht outta luck if you want to speak to someone at night) where a safe place to smoke is and they said nowhere and looked at me as if I was crazy. They have a perfect space upstairs that's isolated to use for a safe smoking section but there are a million signs that say no smoking.
Also last thing but the most hilarious is that all over the hotel/Airbnb are signs that say quiet time is after 20pm, but the outside noises of gang activity and people driving up and down the street BLASTING craaaaaappppy music until 4am is as constant as the smell outside. Just don't come here, it's actually dangerous.

Customer service took multiple hours. Water pressure, and only decaf? Did you mean dirty water? My biggest complaint is the lack of service in the later hours, this can be a huge inconvenience to anyone trying to manage their time efficiently.

Came home and found that I was covered in bedbugs bites. Drilling in the courtyard at 10 am, lacking basic amenities.
