Bushy Dell Creek

Nice quiet creek inside of Piedmont Park. This creek is in a little valley, with waking trails on both sides.

The trails are “off leash” with many dog walkers. There are poop bag stations and trash cans for waste disposal.

The best time to visit is the mid afternoon before people come for their evening/post work dog walk.

The creek is pretty small and is sourced by springs and storm drain runoff. There are little several waterfalls throughout.

After dark, one will need a flashlight as the the trees block out any moonlight. Beware of the mosquitos after dusk during the summer. There are no lights on the trail.

It is generally safe at night, tripping/not seeing uneven pavement from tree roots or steeping in dog poop is a bigger issue than worrying about crime.

A review above said something about seeing people using drugs, that is hard to believe. If anything it would likely be someone enjoying some cannabis. This area is right next to the police station and the vagrants/sketchy folks don’t know about the area/rarely come into town. The only thing sneaking around in the park at night, would be the resident fox.
Overall, a nice trail in the park for walking with the dogs or kids.

fantastic. quiet. green. wet. cool. ...kind people and their sweet dog friends passing through; relaxed, peaceful.

Best go in the daytime. Haven't been in a while, but the last time I went for a walk here, there were druggies doing their thing out in the open.
