City of Walnut Creek

Nice brand new building and super friendly and helpful staff. I went in person to apply for a temporary parking and the staff were extremely curtious and helpful at the very end of the workday.

Parking in downtown Walnut Creek is TERRIBLY strict. Don’t even be late to your car by a minute, you’ll get a $45 ticket. Also note this happened on a SUNDAY. I don’t even care to go to downtown Walnut Creek anymore. It’s sad how the city cares more about giving excessive and unfair parking tickets rather than the happiness of their residents.

Update: I tried to have the ticket appealed for being late by 3 minutes. I was saying good bye to a friend who was visiting from New York at Tellus.
Appeal was denied so I paid the ridiculous $45 ticket and there’s a $3.50 processing fee to pay online too. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? Even more money going to this stupid city?? NEVER GOING BACK to WALNUT CREEK!!!

The other reviews are true… BEWARE: you will get a ticket if you use the parking meters. I would love to support downtown Walnut Creek. But not if it costs me $45 for parking.

Walnut Creek needs to audit the private parking meters in downtown Walnut Creek. Our meter magically zeroed out and we got a $35 ticket even though our meter should've had 12 minutes left when we got back to the car. The ticket was already on our windshield so someone issued the ticket even earlier than the 12 minutes left... We wanted to support downtown Walnut Creek businesses after visiting the Ruth Bancroft Garden but never again. I hate downtown Walnut Creek now. Great way of making an impression. FYI, we parked here: 37.897667, -122.060944 . Our ticket was issued by "ParkSmart Inc."

Terrible place Monday-Friday you have to pay to park to spend money at any place an even if you pay to park your car isnt being watched so if your car gets broken into walnutcreek isn't responsible for the spot you paid for I just think it's pathetic that walnutcreek charges there own people that live an work to spend money in there own city like you think after all the tax money ppl spend ever year it would take car of parking come on blue collar workers we need to get out of California once an for all bc seems like the white collars got it time for them to be the bottom feeders!!!
