A Sweet Affair Bakery

1st visit here and I ordered the Santa Fe Breakfast sandwich 🥪.
It usually comes on croissant but they just ran out when I ordered (around 11:30am) and substituted with a different toasted bread.
It’s a huge portion! Feels like comfort food and enough sandwich for 2 to share.
Vibe is very casual cafe style with 4 booths and 4 tables in back.

I chose A Sweet Affair to make the cakes for a recent anniversary soirée. We couldn’t pick just one, so we decided on the Chocolate Raspberry Truffle and the Carrot Cake. They even added gold flakes to the Carrot Cake to make it extra special.

The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and answered all my questions during the planning process with ease, and they were able to deliver via DoorDash.

Bonus: the cakes were a huge hit among our guests. Highly recommend!

All the food here is really good... You really can't go wrong... This place has been open since I can practically remember & I've been eating the amazing sandwiches for years, so that speaks volumes... Its a bit pricey, but you know what they say, "you get what you pay for" & "location, location, location..." As it's located in Walnut Creek... But it's worth it tho... I highly recommend, doing an online order, because you get a free complementary cookie with your sandwich, that's really delicious... I recommend either: peanut butter or the snicker doodle. If you don't do an online order, & you order in person, then you'll have to pay for the cookie.

I go here almost weekly! That says it all. : )
Cream puffs, macaroons, sandwiches are really good, and better yet, GREAT customer service! Polite, friendly and caring! You dont see that anymore. It can be pricey, but the food quality and service are worth it. Am planning to order cakes for events soon.

Sweet affair is an oldie, but goodie. This place has been around since I first moved to the Bay Area 30 years ago currently two locations that I am aware of both in Walnut Creek. It’s my go to place I mean it’s an addiction so be careful if you need a cake for any occasion, they have plenty ready to go or if you want to pre-order. Their sandwiches are amazing. You can do a half sandwich with super salad and they even have chicken pot pies. Their breads are made in-house they will slice them up. The cinnamon bread is a must.

We ordered pastries and a cake for a baby shower. Everything was so delicious and the cake was absolutely adorable. Would highly recommend.

If you are looking for a business to cater your upcoming parties look no further than here! I am VERY particular in the way i want things done when it is a party i myself am throwing and even more so for my business. I was highly impressed with the personal touches done to my order. I didn't have to do anything with the order for set up because it looked great. I kept hearing throughout the party how fresh the sandwiches were and how delicious each item was. I'm so happy with the turn out!

We ordered a 4-inch cake and mini cupcakes ("poppers") for my daughter's birthday and they were a huge hit. The 4--inch cake was perfect sized "smash cake" for a little one. We had both Chocolate Salted Carmel as well as Carrot Cake poppers and everyone was raving about them. They were the perfect size for people who wanted a bite-sized sugar hit, or could have several :)

Each time I go to the park across the street... NO each time I go to Walnut Creek area I drop in for cookies or a chicken salad sandwich! Great service and cute little shopping center corner. Tables to eat, benches to sit and plenty of people watching opportunity (never not busy) through the years the bakery has changed. Prices, portions ʕ⁠ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ⁠ʔ and unfortunately there salads have gone downhill ALTHOUGH the sandwiches and treats have not. 5 star rating because there is no other bakery I've run into that has the ambience and an at home feel as sweet affair.

And finally found my sweet little weight gaining spot close to home.
Accidentally stepped in after lunch and regret that I had lunch at some other place! This family owned biz deserves the best and now they've got themselves a new customer.
Excellent coffee and delicious desserts, especially coconut freshly baked drops. We are not even mentioning the chocolate eclairs and strawberry puffs.
Tomorrow'm back for more and can't wait.

A Sweet Afair Bakery and Cafe. What a rustic yet modern bakery and Cafe place to visit. They have al kinds of back in the day memorabilia and it was interesting to view while waiting in line at lunch time. I can see why their lunch line was long.

I ordered the Hot Pastrami Sandwhich. Based on their honoring of the Military / Veterans (also thanked me for my service as I ordered), in order to purchase some baked goods. The price point for the sandwhich is complimentary to the proportion size kf the sandwhich. They have different choice of breaks and add or remove any condiments.

A really awesome bakery! Great place for a quick bite for lunch. Their sandwiches are wholesome and huge! I had the hot pastrami sandwich and it was delicious! My wife got a veggie sandwich and it was also delicious! They bake the bread themselves. They also have an assortment of cookies and cakes. You can also get cakes made to order here. Absolutely fantastic local bakery that we love to patronize!

Never disappointed. Hands down the best cakes around. This is not the first cake they made us. Not only do they make them exactly like the example they are delicious. Thanks for making my sons birthday even more special.

This is a special bakery! The cakes are works of art and taste delicious. If I have an important occasion, this is my go-to place for cakes, cookies, and pastries. Their sandwiches and lunch items are great too!

I know a bakery seems like a strange place to order a Reuben sandwich, this is the best EVER...even better than New York and that's saying a lot. So I HIGHLY recommend you give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

Very friendly staff, and incredibly happy with the outcome from just a phone call order.
10/10 recommend!
Also, if anyone is wondering this is their raspberry delight, with buttercream frosting.

Update: the recipe seems to have gone back to its original creamy formula and not curdled.

It would be a 5 stars but their newer recipes for the sandwiches are a bit off. The crab salad sandwich is a little curdled in texture and has been the last 3 times I tried it. I'm not sure if anyone else has complained but I'm not a fan of the newer recipes.

I would have to say this is by far the best bakery/old school lunch shop around. They can make pretty much any custom cake and are very competent. I love you the family owned dynamic of it.

They made us a cake to go with our Lego themed birthday party. The design was incredibly impressive and the cake actually tasted delicious so it wasn’t all for show. Everyone loved it!

Great scones, sandwiches and salads. Reminds me of my home town sandwich shop where I grew up with quaint old antique signs, decor and friendly staff. I'll definitely be back!
