This review is overdue! I first reached out to MAJ Realtors after meeting Alissa at a few open houses and seeing that she sold the kind of homes that I'd like to live in. After an initial meeting, my partner and I began working with Alissa to purchase our second home and on the plan to sell our starter home in 2023. Navigating the market and waiting for the right home for us took a while. Alissa is an expert in real estate and was patient in helping us through multiple offers that weren't successful. She's thoughtful and took our requirements into consideration while also being realistic in her guidance. After we finally closed on a new home, she and Jessica helped us sell our first home with a really great outcome. I highly recommend working with Alissa and Jessica; these ladies are skillful, pragmatic, great negotiators, and have excellent taste as well!

Alissa was expert in her knowledge of the Kensington real estate market and we ended up with a quick sale at a price higher than we expected. We were able to trust Alissa and her expertise through every step of the process. She enlisted her network of professionals to manage an estate sale, empty out the house and make targeted improvements that would enhance the value of the house. Alissa and Jessica are true professionals, inspiring, and admirable. Since my husband is a home remodeler we had the opportunity to work for some of their clients who were prepping their homes for sale, these ladies are full of ideas, they know what buyers are looking for, and they would check on the work as it progressed on behalf of their clients who were already out of state sometimes. So it was a no brainer who we'd ask to list our house when it came time to move. I am someone who likes to be in control. It is highly unusual that I trust someone so implicitly that I can let go. Jessica instilled that sense of trust. We had already bought another house when we contacted MAJ. we interviewed several firms but were most impressed by Jessica and Alissa. They agreed to our crazy timeline and pulled off an open house a week after we signed a contract with them. Throughout the process they gave smart and savvy counsel. Always hearing our concerns or questions. Always available. Our house was not a cookie cutter and it took about a month to sell. Jessica stayed on it, communicated with me sometimes multiple times per day and made it happen! I loved working with them and though happy our house sold, miss our daily conversations! They were honestly the best we’ve ever worked with and we’ve bought and sold six homes!

We worked with Alissa Custer of MAJ Realtors first to buy a house, then to sell one. She helped us buy our dream home with a preemptive bid that avoided auction. The house we sold needed work in order to command a top price. I wanted nothing to do with that, but Alissa managed everything, hiring the contractors and speeding through the work--I didn't know contractors could work that fast! We were very happy with the quick sale of the house and with the price we got for it. We would happily work with Alissa again.

Alissa and her team helped us sell our house in Kensington. There is so much trust that goes into working with your realtor and it was so easy to have that trust with Alissa and her team. The MAJ team are so professional, accommodating, knowledgeable about the Bay Area market, and they did a fantastic job prepping and listing our house. The videos of the property and community were outstanding and so invaluable. There were some minor repairs that had to be done and Alissa had a great and trust worthy contractor that handled all the repairs and took care of any requests we asked. We highly recommend Alissa and MAJ Realtors for anyone's home selling or purchasing. Alissa was not only professional and patient, but also very personable.

When the time came we were happy to step out of the way and let them work their magic. Alissa sold my house in record time. It was a difficult move for me as I had lived in the house for 21 years and was leaving our lovely neighborhood to be close to family on the east coast. Alissa and her team made the whole process smooth and easy and handled all my questions and concerns with sensitivity and grace. I had never sold a house long distance and was a bit nervous but everything went quickly and according to plan. I cannot recommend Alissa and the MAJ team more highly or thank them enough for all their exceptional work and kindness.

Alissa & Jessica were fantastic throughout our selling process. They handled getting the house ready for showing including managing renovations (completely re-doing the kitchen!) after we had already left the state for our next home. I felt extremely comfortable leaving everything in their hands. They were great about constantly communicating how to renovations, staging & selling process was going & got us top dollar for our house in a slowing market. 10/10!

We really loved working with Jess and the whole MAJ team. They were respectful of our feelings for the family home that we were selling while at the same time helping us make the best decisions to get a great price. Which we were fortunate to get even in a tough market. Jess was a great communicator and navigated the bumps in the road without stress. My partner and I worked with Jessica Waggoner of MAJ last year to buy a house in Richmond. Jessica came highly recommended to us, and she was AMAZING. As I’ve talked with others about their home buying experiences since then, I’ve realized that MAJ provides A+ service that is not typical for most real estate agencies.

Jessica’s expertise was invaluable. She helped us understand what was typical and expected when looking through home disclosures, actually walking us through our first one from front to back. She was honest with us when she saw red flags in inspection reports. She has a very good sense of the current market and encouraged us to bid more competitively on certain homes and actually bid LESS on other homes. The home we wound up purchasing was one where she actually encouraged us to bid less than we were expecting, so we got it at an incredible “deal” that we felt very happy with.

Jessica worked with our preferred mortgage broker with no issues at all. She was incredibly available for all our phone calls and “emergencies.” On the rare occasion she wasn’t available, she tapped another member of her team to step in when needed.

In addition to all the logistics, Jessica was very patient with the emotional aspects of buying a home. She didn’t pressure us at all and we always felt like she was truly our cheerleader.

Lastly, the home that we purchased needed a few upgrades (hardwood floors, fresh paint, etc) after we closed, and Jessica put us in touch with all her favorite contractors, which was incredibly helpful. The people she suggested we work with were FANTASTIC. This was assistance she was definitely under no obligation to help us with, but it made a huge difference in our stress levels. We still work with the handyman and plumber she recommended.

I recommend Jessica and her team to literally everyone I know. When it comes time for us to buy or sell in the future, she will definitely be the person we work with again.
