No idea why this place has some many negative reviews. The doctor here is a super friendly and nice, the staff is very nice and friendly and they have been helping me a lot without pushing any services I don't need on me or trying to sell me something. The right side of my face is paralyzed due a inner ear tumor removal surgery. That left my eye unable to close normally. I have a weight that was put in but it still closes at a different rate then my left eye and doesn't fully closes. So the eye drying out is a serious concern. He has been helping me keep the eye safe and lubricated. With regular check ins to make sure the eye is not getting worse or scared. When I first came to him I had a bad case of pink eye that wasn't getting better with prescription eye drops after seeing 2 doctors. He took one look at me and said it was a Viral infection not bacterial so eye drops won't help and that it needs to run it's course. Most likely caught the viral infection from BART as it would be airborne. He was right, I stopped using the prescription and after a bout a week or so it cleared up and went away. I have had nothing but great experiences with this office. If I need to reschedule an appointment it wasn't hard and they enforce COVID safety as well. Seriously one of the best eye doctors that I have been to and nicest office. Highly recommend the Eye Clinic.

I’ve been seeing the docs & techs & other staff for 3 yrs. and often for vision exams, glaucoma, & cataract surgery. Everybody has been courteous & helpful & patient with an old man. Dr. Lee lights the place up with his friendly & positive disposition.

Everyone was amazing, from the front desk to the back office! Dr. Lee was also very engaging with my 8 year old, she enjoyed laughing with him as she got her eyes checked. Great staff and doctors!

This was my first visit to this facility.

Friendly staff upon arrival along with a quick check-in. The office space was clean and easy to navigate.

I met with Dr. Lee for my yearly eye exam, who was very friendly and explained things in a fun manner.

More like a 2.5. The office staff was nice & they fit us in quickly but the Dr's seem to think a kid is not going to move or blink when they are trying to do stuff to their eye & that's just not realistic. My son was going through something very traumatic & it would have been nice if the Dr's could process that the eye is attatched to a person.

I would avoid Dr. Lee at all costs. This doctor is very discriminatory. I came in about two years ago for what used to be my annual eye exam which has now been changed to every two years. That’s besides the point. During my examination this “Doctor” seemed to be in a huge hurry. When I mentioned needing a new pair of glasses his response was “you don’t NEED a new pair of glasses” as if my one already broken pair was good enough. Then to top it all off now that my 2 year old cheaply made frames have broken yet again I am required to buy a new pair but OH looks like I can’t because Dr Lee only wrote my prescription to be good for only ONE year instead of TWO like the LAW requires. Definitely go to a better eye doctor and one that actually cares about their patients

On November 2nd, I went for an eye exam and was told my contacts would arrive within a few days. However, a week passed without any sign of them. When I called, I was told to wait a few more days. This pattern continued for a second week, with no responses to my calls.

On November 24th, with only a few days remaining before a month-long trip, I desperately needed my contacts. I called the Walnut Creek location again, but received no answer. At the Brentwood office, they could only offer one trial contact lens, unable to provide a complete pair. Finally, Antioch had the trial pair I needed.

Disappointingly, even this wasn't smooth sailing. My ring camera footage from December 4th captured a postal worker attempting to deliver a package, but then taking it back with them instead of leaving it. Due to my absence from the country, I had to rely on my in-laws to retrieve the package from the post office. It turned out to be the contacts I'd ordered a month ago! Furthermore, the delivery attempt failed because California Eye Clinic in Walnut Creek had neglected to pay the full shipping cost, leaving my in-laws to cover the shortfall.

I am still out of the country, but incredibly frustrated by this entire situation. The complete lack of communication regarding the contact delays was unacceptable. Upon my return next week, I expect a phone call to discuss this issue further.

This doctor treated me like I was a hypochondriac. Didn't see any issues & since he doesn't know me personally & has never seen me before until today, he doesn't see my eyelids as being swollen like the referring doctor did. He was basically saying there's nothing wrong & he can't do surgery on a non-existent problem. I responded saying I didn't ask for surgery, I was sent here since the referring doc felt I needed further testing. Wait an hour & a half for him to tell me this in under 5 minutes. Very disappointed.

My mother’s appointment was scheduled for 2:45 pm with Dr. Wang. We arrived at 2:30 pm and it was like a busy emergency room full of patients with the waiting area and hallway packed, sitting and standing around waiting to be seen. The appointment had been set up to see Dr. Wang but instead, we saw an optometrist by the last name Lee. After he checked my mom, he told her that there was nothing wrong with her eyes despite severe eye pain in both eyes, implying that it was all in her head when she couldn’t even open her eyes to look into the light. He proceeded to tell us that if her eyes were really hurting, then she should have gone to the emergency room. I insisted that something wrong was with her vision. He said he will have the D.M check her, to which I asked if he was actually a doctor, and he replied “No, and I never will be,” sarcastically. We waited 2 1/2 hours to see Dr. Wang and the only reason why we didn’t leave was because mom’s eyes were in severe pain, but after this experience, we will never go back to this California eye client. Both of my parents used to go here to see a great and caring M.D. by the name of Dr. Shah, but he only goes there one day a week meaning he is almost never there. This clinic has now been made into a corporation that cares about the profits over the patients. After my parents were going here to see Dr. Shah for over 9 years, we will no longer be returning to this California eye clinic ever again because of this horrible and demeaning experience that a patient should never endure. Goodbye.

Overcrowded waiting room. Nowhere to sit . After standing for an hour waiting for the appt, I decided to sit on the dirty floor. Why do they overbook patients ? This was a horrible experience

THE worst eye exam experience. Waiting forever listing to the doctor chit chat about nothing in other room. Then super rude attitude. The reception, technician, they have no friendly nor helpful attitude.

My appointment was 10:45am. Until 11:25, I was hearing the doctor just talking out loud about nothing in another room with a patient. (my room's door open, I could clearly hear his loud voice.)
Then he finally started examining the patient and it became quiet until 11:35pm.

I was soooooo frustrated. He was so loud and I could hear him talking about really nothing!!! nothing related to eyes or with the patient he was seeing. How corona spreading, his friend got one, etc.... on and on. He just likes to talk!

I made it clear to the doctor I was in the hurry, and mentioned that it usually does not take this long for an eye exam. Then he started to be so rude, and he is asking if I want to reschedule. (after waiting for him talking about nothing for almost an hour! ??) He was challenging that other eye doctors I have seen before were not doing the right job. He skipped some eye exams BECAUSE, I, let me mention again, "I" was in the rush. No, no, no, I never needed to rush nor got frustrated if YOU did not waste my time chit-chatting forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The doctor I saw was Meng Lee. But this office has a very low ratings in every review sites. I should have done my homework.

I was looking for a place to get an eye exam done & found CA Eye Clinic. I saw they had a bad review on here but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt... The eye exam went fine but one of the contacts I got from them ripped a couple weeks later and got lodged in the back of my eye. I couldn't get it out so I called CA Eye Clinic to see of they could help. They told me to come by, no appointment needed. I went in, the lady poked around with a q-tip, couldn't get the piece out so I went home. Two months later I get a bill for $250, thinking it was my eye exam and for some reason insurance had bounced it. Turns out they decided to charge me under the table for the 5 minutes of unsuccessful eye poking & didn't bother to tell me. Even my insurance lady commented on the bad business practice. Definitely will not be going here again..

Without question, Dr? Hwang is the absolute worst. I saw him for my entropic eyelid and was treated like I was the least important patient he had ever seen. Never did I spend less than an hour for a 10 min.appointment in his over booked waiting room. His procedure failed and my eye is as bad as ever. He knew that another procedure was necessary yet he milked my insurance for at least 3 more exams and finally I just gave up. When I asked why he was overbooked, he said, rather indignantly, Do you see how old my patients are? They never complain.

Negative star - rude staff, impatient to the elderly, and have absolutely zero consideration of your time and make you wait for 45 minutes after your appointment time with no acknowledgment except during check-in. How can the staff be in the healthcare industry without any caring or compassion? Don't do it!

I had a referral from my retina specialist, dr. Goldberg, and dr. Hwang was one of the options he gave me. I got an appointment just to get at the Creek office just to be told that my appointment was scheduled for the Antioch office... i wasted precious time going to this appointment.
How difficult is it to make an appointment? It takes no rocket science!
And my (large) experience with doctors is: if the staff is bad, run for the hills!

This place is out-and-out NUTS!
Though that overall assessment must admittedly and necessarily exclude this office's bevy of chatty but pleasant, polite and exceptionally helpful reception desk girls, who obviously do a more than efficient job at holding this shyster operation together.
And shyster it is, too!
Clearly a profiteering, money-making machine, not to mention some sort of intern training-center that exploits unsuspecting patients as involuntary student guinea pigs, this office(as others have observed)is obviously over-booked, over-crowded, NOISY, CHAOTIC AND CORRUPT TO THE CORE!
Calling it a three-ring circus would be a mild UNDER-statement!
I ventured into this den of shysterism after being referred for eye examination following a bout of chemical conjunctivitis that unduly impaired my far-sighted vision. A receptionist got me a three o'clock afternoon appointment that opened up due to a cancellation, for which I arrived a full forty-five minutes early due to the public transportation schedule, during which time I completed their copious(and privacy-invasive)paperwork asking unethically for things like social security numbers of yourself(and spouses)and "emergency contacts" who weren't spouses, obviously for purposes of tracking patent payments.
It was just about five o'clock when I was finally released so I was ensconced in this shyster office for nearly three solid hours for what should've been a simple and prompt eye exam.
Instead of which, I was seen(and machine-examined)by not one, not two, but a total of THREE(3)amateur and dubiously qualified if pleasant NOVICES--apparently in-training. Before that is, the chief quack(Dr. Hwang)deigned to make his grand, condescending, all-superior, I've-seen-and-heard-it-all-before-attitude entrance.
Though granting that aspects like my eye pressure was "good," Hwang dismissively wrote off my current state of visual impairment(strangely my left eye is clearly more impaired than the right)as the result, naturally, of "age," not the chemical conjunctivitis event which brought me to be referred in the first place, BEFORE which I suffered no such impairment(as I tried explaining to the dense IDIOT multiple times with the example of my before-and-after ability to read the distant wall menu of a nearby fast-food restaurant). For God's sakes, just ONCE I'd be totally aghast if a quack would simply LISTEN to the facts and reality of ill symptoms experienced by the patient! "It's just LIFE," Hwang cracks, persisting with putting his stupid spin on things. Well, it was life that never adversely affected me until the swimming pool-related incident of chemical conjunctivitis from several months past. Likewise, Hwang dismissed a more constant symptom of a strange dust-sensation in my eyes as some vague and ambiguous "dryness," for which their eye drops of choice(Oasis)were recommended but not found at the pharmacy. Two others though(Refresh and Systane)were found and exploited, I'm delighted to report, to great effect, thanks to the volunteered notations of one Dr. "Parks," an optometrist, or so she said. There again, Hwang acted like the supreme pompous IDIOT: the moment he sat down to look over and scrawl in my eye exam reports, he promptly crumpled up and trashed the stick-it note bearing these other two suggested eye drops products! A real JERK-OFF, who's obviously marking time on the job to make as much money off as many people as possible before skipping town!
That Parks gal, though, was so exceptionally charming, as well as knowledgeable and informative, that I felt more inclined to invite her out on a date than to examine my eyes!
Still, that horrendous, assembly-line, patient conveyor-line visit wasn't a total loss though: I did get the requisite eye glasses prescription out of it though I'm unlikely to resort to it, since despite my advanced "age," the simple eye drops Parks recommended are working wonders with what is most likely a most temporary visual impairment.

Very disappointed with this clinic. My an appointment with Dr Shah was discontinued 3times without reason by office and as result I have no professional help for my chronic problem and urgent care with complications. It is reason to change this clinic and I can’t recommend this place anymore.
