For most of my life I have been working out at gyms and even owned one for several years. I have a better understanding than most of the how difficult the business is and the demands of gym ownership and daily functioning.
The Sausalito Fitness Club is everything I could want in a well appointed and well run gym with plenty of professionally maintained equipment for every workout style.
First and foremost the owner and staff are friendly and responsive to clients without pretense. No high pressure sales people, no intimidation to join, just an unpretentious welcoming atmosphere with a no nonsense attitude. Qualified trainers are available for hire for those that need assistance.
Changing rooms are spacious well kept with showers and a steam room.
For me this a perfect gym for my workouts and I thank everyone involved who have worked tirelessly to keep it going and ultimately reopening during the pandemic, especially the Club's amazing and tenacious owner, Joubert.

Sausalito fitness club is a great community gym to work out. The staff is friendly and super knowledgeable for any workout questions. The gym is always clean and organized. The workout equipment is all top notch brands and looks brand new. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Ive been a member of the Sausalito Fitness Club for almost 2 years now and Im still loving it. Even more now with more people coming post, kind of, COVID. There is never a wait for the equipment I want to use, the trainers are very helpful with questions, the patrons are friendly and the atmosphere encourages one to just DO IT!

This long-time locals gym has been completely revamped post-pandemic while keeping the friendly vibe it's had for years! Sausalito Fitness Club offers several cardio machines as well as a complete Nautilus circuit (upper and lower body), two resistance pulley machines (each capable of giving a complete work-out in and of themselves), several plate-loaded machines, and dumbbells ranging from 2.5 to over 100 lbs. Most of the equipment is new and the place is immaculately cleaned every day. There is also an ample stretching area, two decks for working-out outside, and even several boxing bags of various sizes. All this and won't you find friendlier staff, trainers and members anywhere in the Bay Area. I've been a member at this location through various ownerships for over twenty years and the gym has never been better!

Sausalito Fitness Club is the answer to anyone questioning where they can find a ‘real’ gym with spirit. The gym industry (like so many others) has become over-corporatized and soulless. Most of what you see now are the same ubiquitous strip-mall gyms in every town. But not in Sausalito! Here, we have one of the last real gyms, where the owner and staff knows your name and are genuinely happy to see you walk through the door. The facility offers everything you could possibly need to reach your fitness goals, including barbells and free weights not typically found at franchise gyms. The owner (Joubert) is a great guy and constantly looking for new ways to improve the club experience. If you have a suggestion, you can bring it straight to him and he’ll be sure to help you out in any way he can. On the whole, I think this is an outstanding gym that we should all appreciate and enjoy because community driven clubs like this are getting harder to find.

I was a member of Sausalito Fitness Club since 2013, before it changed ownership . I had always enjoyed the community around the gym, being that it is the only gym in Sausalito. But new ownership, specifically Joubert Caston, has taken the gym to new heights. With new state of the art equipment, solid diverse trainers, and good culture, I would highly recommend Sausalito Fitness if you live in Southern Marin and beyond. Like most independent business the Pandemic has had its effect on the gym, but Joubert and staff have worked tirelessly to continue to make improvements regardless. I moved up to Rohnert Park last year, but every time I am back in Marin and want to work out I only go to Sausalito Fitness. You will receive a knowledgeable staff, new equipment, and community.

Sausalito Fitness Club is a fantastic gym all around! I have been a regular, devoted member since SFC opened and a fan of the staff, equipment, members and positive vibe. Joubert, the owner, is a ray of sunshine who always brightens my day with his kind and upbeat energy. Joubert and the trainers work extremely hard to keep SFC updated with new gear and keep the space clean and sanitized. I have been working with a fantastic trainer, Azz, twice a week for 14 years. He has trained me through many marathons without injury, including 2 Bostons. You can go for a solo, quiet workout with your headphones on or chat with the friendly folks in the Club. I am so grateful that we have this low-key, relaxed, casual gym in Marin.

You will love this GYM! The equipment is up-to-date, there is tons of room to maneuver. I personally work out with the owner and coach Joubert. What a character!! You will always feel at ease and as your strength grows so will your love for this place. 5 stars and a pleasure.

This gym and fitness club has everything that I need. Free weights, machines, stretching area, lots of windows, sky-lights, music/sound system, TV monitors so you don't miss the game, and it has a nice outdoor garden ... to catch your breath. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There are many trainers available for all ages and abilities. You could even learn to jump rope like a boxing pro, with a trainer for that as well.

I often work out of town and im always looking for a nice place to stay in shape so i found sausalito fitness club and reached out. They quickly responded and after a few short minutes answered all of my question. When I arrived everyone was super nice and accommodating. They got me signed up and just like that I was good to go. I love that they have alot of updated equipment and offer a steamroom and sauna. Highly recommend this place if you either live in the area or just on a business trip just call and they will get you squared away and working out in no time.

Sausalito fitness contains two floors of the latest equipment, in a quiet atmosphere conducive for working out and a facility that is clean all the time. I highly recommend Sausalito Fitness for people who are serious about getting in shape and staying in shape.

High quality gym with every piece of equipment one needs to get fit and stay in shape! Wonderful staff; all are super friendly and helpful and the owner is great guy and a smart man. Been a member here for almost 7 years now and I don't see myself going anywhere else! Would recommend this place to everyone.

I’ve been a member of this gym for a while! The former owner had not done any upgrades or added any new equipment and the gym wasn't cleaned on a regular basis.

Now under new ownership! Every week they’re doing something to improve the gym!

Best gym by far in southern Marin. Great people, top, new and extensive Matrix equipment, and >15 cardio machines on 2 big floors.

This is the CLEANEST gym I have ever been to! Great location next to the water in Sausalito.. super friendly staff and a low-key, non competitive environment to get in work out! I LOVE this place!
