I've never used the park here, but I park here to go to the beach next to the wharf.

Park near the old gate to the wharf and walk north toward the red fence across from the first house. There's a foreboding sign that indicates where to scramble down to the train tracks, cross them, careful down the rocks, and then a really lovely beach, especially at low tide.

There's rarely more than another person here. It's very tranquil.

This is a great little park to take in the sunset. It's been a nice little playground and benches to sit on.

We've spent many hours of sea gazing and playing on the beach at this park. We especially liked it when the dock and building were still there. Even now sans beach access, we often see seals and otters near the shore.

The kids loved the playground when it was still kept up (first built), before the wild roses grew over portions of the slide. Prior to the land-clearing to build the park, we picked blackberries here.

However, my family was sad when Edmonds and the railroad fenced off beach access: "If you visit this beach, then you are trespassing!" Edmonds wrote to me. My kids grew up on this beach, playing in the sun (reef safe clothing and sunscreen), studying tide life, and making new friends of the other families who brought their kids to this beach.

I have heard that a teenager fell off the dock or was hit by a train (the stories vary) and the city was sued for having an attractive nuisance. This is, of course, tragic. But why punish everyone else for the carelessness of a few?

The railroad is blamed for closing access to the beach, but you can clearly see and hear trains coming for miles in both directions far in advance to safely cross the tracks.

We were also sad that the city declined the offer to preserve the dock by letting the young entrepreneurs turn it into an upscale jazz club.

Seeing the dilapidated state of the "wharf," as it continues to decay, with no signage explaining why it has been systematically dismantled, nor mention of its prohibition-era history is also typically wasteful.

Why not put in an over-track walkway at Haines Wharf, like Carkeek park has? It seems strange that so much has been spent on nearby Maplewood Park's new beach infrastructure, when it is so inaccessible. The rich surrounding neighborhood doesn't seem to like even the walk-in visitors. And, since they remodeled Maplewood, with the best of intentions I'm sure, I don't see any fish in the creek.

Cute little park by the beach on the side of a hill with stairs leading down to some benches and lavender. Beautiful flowers and beach views although walking there is a bit tricky with a steep incline and not much sidewalk. Totally worth the visit. I was told there is a way to reach the actual beach if you go through some bushes down a steep hill and over the train tracks, but I just viewed it from a distance.

This is such a great park in a beautiful area. It has one of the longest slides around. I have been bringing my kids here since they were toddlers. I highly recommend going to watch the sunset!

Not many places to walk as far as Trails go but a beautiful view with a playground and the old Wharf looks awesome.

Beautiful views in a quiet setting! The play area is nice, but probably better suited for kids 5 and up. There is a baby swing there so if you baby is easily amused by swinging, you'll be good to go while the big kids run around. There is also a little seating area with a grill. The perfect place to enjoy lunch, or watch the sunset!

Awesome little park! Kinda sketchy climb to the slide, but worth it. Not very much shade on super sunny days. However, so much lavender bumble and honeybees had to be in the 1000s+, and that was really amazing! I was pretty impressed with this place.

This is a fantastic small park. It has something for everyone. There is play structure for small kids and a mini library shelf. Teenagers like to go at the bottom to hang out. On top, there are great views and benches for couples and tires adults.

It's very romantic and playful at the same time.

Beautiful, clean little park with view of Haines Ward. Great climbing gym for small children. Several spaced out picnic tables and park benches . Easy walk back entrance of Meadowdale Park.
