Scandinavian Designs

I have pretty much furnished my entire apartment from this store. They have very attractive and well made items that are surprisingly durable. I bought dining room furniture, living room, and some rugs. All have withstood the time and wear. They are also transparent as to the availability of items and give you pretty realistic expectations. I like to purchase items that are currently in warehouse so that there is no unforeseen delays. Sales people are overall good and I have worked with several now. I highly recommend this furniture store for attractive and reasonably priced pieces

Scandinavian Designs is a well known and respected store with lots of high quality furniture and decor objects. They are doing a pretty good job with zoning at this large place. It’s hard to make things look homie and cozy in industrial building, but you will get an idea. Certainly, the store has a lot to offer.

I want to say that our experience from the very beginning until right now when the table was delivered, was fantastic! We were helped by Alex on the first day, but decided we were going to sleep on the decision. When we returned the head manager helped us select the table and chairs and we just wrapped up with the two best delivery guys I’ve ever dealt with Carlos and Guillermo. From beginning to end Scandinavian designs rocked it! Thank you everybody.

We had a great experience with Scandinavian Designs. the staff were friendly and well informed. We bought 2 leather couches 20 years ago and then bought a bed,dressers dining table, chairs, rugs and a new couch after the Tubbs Fire. They were all delivered and assembled in a timely manor and the store was quick to change a rug delivered in error. Love the range of style, price and colors available. We had a good experience with Scandinavian Design. Our sales person was Danial. He was very helpful in our selection of the furniture and with the our schedule of our delivery. He was slap responsive to our phone calls during this process. We have subsequently returned to Scandinavian Design to purchase additional items and received the same professional service from Danial.

When looking for a new couch, I visited various stores both in person and online. No store can match my content and overall satisfaction like this one did. Not only is the furniture beautiful, I received excellent customer service at this location thanks to the marvelous Thayer. His support and knowledge throughout the entire process, even after my purchase, was above and beyond. His expertise and honesty was super helpful and his level of attentiveness was perfection. I love my couch. Scandinavian Design has been carrying this model for a long time. It still is the best couch I ever owned. Love my pink velvet fabric choice.

Had a great experience buying my first really nice piece of furniture here. Staff in store were helpful and delivery crew were great as well. Bought a lamp that didn’t really work out with my decor and was able to exchange it hassle free. Love the Euro style over American modern and will be back for sure.

I just moved back to the area with zero furniture. I have no eye for design. Thayer was absolutely amazing. He took the time to understand my space, personality and needs. He helped me pick out the perfect look and he has been incredibly helpful with other things even after my original purchase. Very professional! Look for him and he will take great care of you!

This store is great. They had exactly what we wanted and best of all, they arranged delivery of 3 couches and 6 dining chairs all together. Then the day before our delivery we also bought a bed and side table and they managed to add those to the delivery next day. Highly recommend this store and the new single level showroom is an improvement on their previous location.

I enjoyed shopping at the Scandinavian Designs store in San Rafael CA. I found the staff super friendly and helpful. Not too much pressure and yet enough support when I needed them. Just right! Friendly too! I love the furniture I purchased. Great solid quality, fantastic design, timeless really, and all at what I consider reasonable prices (trust me, I shopped around). I highly recommend! I purchased: a couch, sideboard, and end table from the Cress collection.

Hello, working with the store team at Scandinavian Designs was a pleasure from start to finish. We needed to stage our home to prepare for it's sale. Every team member was able to pick up where others left off as we returned to the store several times over a period of weeks. Their collective knowledge was impressive and their sense of urgency equally so. They always did their best to offer not only accurate and reasonable delivery dates (which were never more than two weeks beyond the order date) but also sensible and accurate well informed product information. They did an excellent job of utilizing their website as well to offer a greater array of options as we progressed. The style and timeliness of their designs are truly unmatched. We will leverage their skills again in the future. Thank you.

Love this place. I've bought office furniture and home furniture from SD. The furniture quality is great and holds up under three kids, two dogs, constant use. Lauren over at the San Rafael showroom has always been welcoming and attentive.

Specifically need to call out Thayer, who was such a help to us and made our shopping experience go very smoothly. After searching various stores for a new couch, we ended up at the big warehouse of SD in San Rafael. It’s huge and we were a bit fried from all the window shopping. Thayer came in, listened to what we wanted, guided us through the shop with laser focus so we didn’t waste our time, and we left with a new couch ordered. It was delivered only days later. Absolutely love the couch, couldn’t be happier. Thank you, Thayer!

We bought an extension table before Thanksgiving and were very happy with our experience, Cheryl was a huge help! Great service in store, while not always a guarantee, can be somewhat expected. What really impressed me was when the table arrived and was damaged, Cheryl and team took care of everything. There was no finger pointing or hassle. I will gladly continue to shop at Scandinavian Design and have been more than happy to tell every I meet about how wonderful they are.

Purchased dining room chairs back in February 2021-reecived them in June 2021. I did realize that shipping was delayed due to issues at the Ports.
I love the chairs-very comfortable. I have been purchasing furniture at Scandinavian Designs - San Rafael since 1980 and have always valued the quality of the furniture and the friendliness and professionalism from staff!

If you need new furniture (and you don't want to wait 6-9 months to actually get it) you have to go to Scandinavian Designs. We needed to furnish a home quickly and had looked online at many other places and nothing was in stock. We visited the Scandinavian Design showroom in San Rafael and were immediately asked if we needed help by Thayer. He asked us a few questions and started showing us items that he thought would match what we were looking for (including taking us to a floor model couch at a big discount that was exactly what we wanted). The showroom is huge! Thayer helped us put together a dining room, living room, entryway and bedrooms, of all in stock merchandise. A week later, Thayer even texted us when a few new items came on the floor model sale that he thought we would like and even let us know when an item was going on sale for Black Friday. He went above and beyond with respect to customer service and had great taste. The furniture was delivered all at once, on time, assembled and into the house.
