If you're looking to streamline your accounting and bookkeeping needs, TAG is a great resource. They help business owners with their outsourced accounting needs, from bookkeeping to Controller-level financial reviews. Companies can save time and money by outsourcing their accounting to TAG.
They also offer TAG Family CFO and family office services, such as bill pay, personal reporting and accounting. Many high-net-worth families can benefit from TAG Family CFO by outsourcing their bookkeeping and bill pay needs to a reliable firm like TAG. Receive great service and work with a trusted firm - located in the heart of downtown La Jolla and they even have offices in Rancho Santa Fe and Newport Beach, California.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR BUSINESS HERE.We worked with this company from 2014 through 2021. (We're slow learners). The "last straw" was when our automated payment for our Amex bill BOUNCED because they didn't transfer funds from the corporate account to the operating account to cover it. (That was part of their responsibilities and had been part of the standard operating procedure for years.)

We are in the processes of reviewing their work and are uncovering major mistakes in their bookkeeping where they classified business expenses as personal expenses.

These are not "questionable" expenses such as meals, entertainment, or travel ...but OBVIOUS expenses such as inventory, software, office supplies, etc.

We believe Plumb (formerly Tag) likely mis-categorized MILLIONS of deductible expenses over the years we worked with them ...thus creating a massive tax liability on money that was never earned.

Don’t take your business here. Incredibly slow, poor customer service. We have been loyal customers for many years and asked to rescope and reduce our services while maintaining our relationship. It’s been six weeks and no new scope has been provided. It took them over four weeks to provide a log in to our quickbooks account, and then we got a separate bill for that when we were paying over 2k per month for their lackluster services. The only great employee there is Sandra.

During the transition period, as a customer, I expected their team to:

1. Provide a new proposal promptly (1 week at max - that would still be late compared with the promise of "end of the day"); it's been 6 weeks -- still no proposal has been provided.

2. Provide Quickbooks login credentials promptly (1 week at max); it took over 4 weeks. In the conversation it sounded like we should have had these years ago.

3. Give us guidance on the transition period and set expectations for when the current scope will end and the new scope will begin. No guidance has been provided nor expectations set. Instead, I have had to check in multiple times and repeatedly request fulfillment of the promised updated proposal.

4. Provide the promised Quickbooks training to ensure our successful transition to a reduced scope - nothing has been scheduled.

5. Check in with us to see how the reduced scope is working for us - clearly hasn't happened since the scope has yet to be renegotiated.

I'm so disappointed I have to write this review as things started out good and then made a turn for the worst in the past year. Now, I'm no longer working with Plumb.

I hired Plumb for my business accounting after having a relationship with their team for a few years. That business relationship only lasted a short few months as there were constant deadlines that weren't being met, charging of fees without prior approval and a plain lack of account management from their side/driving projects forward. They charge a premium price and with that the service was NOT on par.

The most disappointing was that when I told them I was leaving due to poor account management, the account manager didn't bother hearing WHY I was leaving and failed to offer any solution. Her boss didn't even reach out to try to make better. Years of a relationship down the drain.

For anyone looking for an accounting service, I'd recommend that you use another company. Their team seems to be very overworked with many accounts their managing each and with that the quality has gone down significantly.

ZERO STARS IF WE COULD! We tried to use TAG to switch from CV accounting system to Sage 100 and it was nothing but a mess. One issue after another and just a total sales pitch. We worked with Jane for years on CV and she was wonderful but as soon as we switched to the side that dealt with Sage 100, it was horrible. Data was not transferred over properly and we were given responses like "why does that need to be there" --- uhh, it is our accounting system, that is why! WE WOULD NEVER USE THEM AGAIN and WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND TAG. go to CFO on the GO as an alternative team. MUCH MORE HELPFUL!
