I could not be happier with the service dept, particularly Fernando Alacantra. They quickly took my car in and ordered the recall parts. They also repaired an oil leak caused by Valvoline for only 120. They communicated via text during the whole process then sent me a high resolution video showing my the undercarriage where the issue was. I love knowing exactly what the issue is and what’s being done with clear communication. Very different from experiences with other dealerships. I’ll definitely stick to Kearny VW for all of my vehicle needs.

My advisor is Craig. He is amazing, patient and really trustworthy. This happened to me in the past: even tho record said I need to change the brake fluid, (which is not really true cause I changed it the year before, just not on record at the dealer), he told me that it looks good and I don’t need to change it. He gives really good recommendations. I trust him so much with my car!!

The experience in the past with Craig is from another dealer. But I had my most recent service at Kearny Mesa with Craig and it is as amazing as always.

Second time at Kearny Mesa with Craig:
Fabulous experience. My car was dripping oil (freak me out). Craig warned me it may take long time / overnight so I was prepared. Two hours after I left, he told me the problem and explained the problem professionally and clearly. Then he communicated with me about the order of required part and timeline. Great fast service with reasonable prices!

This review is for Antonio, Antonio is absolutely wonderful!

I was dealing with an issue regarding a part under warranty, so a few months ago my dad talked to the service center about a replacement. We were initially told it could possibly take up to 8 months for the part to come in, which was a huge bummer since this issue caused my horn and other steering wheel functions to not work. I accepted the fact that the shipping time was out of my/their control, so I am honestly not too bothered about that(I learned how to be a much more patient driver during that time, and have become less honk-happy as a result so I see it as a lesson in patience).

As soon as the part arrived, this location reached out to us to get the replacement started. My dad coordinated everything for me, telling me in advance how helpful Antonio was, and passed along Antonio's info for me to schedule a time to drop off the car. Right off the bat Antonio was super great to work with! He was extremely accommodating and basically told me to come at my convenience which was a huge relief, as I had an unusually busy schedule. Not only was he very accommodating, but he was SO friendly- I showed up a bit later than the time I said I would(as someone who works in customer service and appt-based work, I felt terrible) and Antonio was all smiles and was extremely personable. He was cracking jokes with me and some of his coworkers, and seemed to actually enjoy working with his team.

I left my car there(I was told it would be a few days, which I was fine with as they were clearly busy when I arrived) and agreed to a diagnostic test as well, since I knew my car had some issues. About a day and a half later Antonio reached out to break the news- my car needed MANY repairs, and some were very urgent and a huge safety concern. Antonio took time out of his day to call me and explain what was going on, and he was very transparent about the state of my car. Throughout our phone call he was very enjoyable to talk to, and he genuinely seemed to have my safety in mind. He was willing to take his own time to talk me through possible options, as by the time we really were able to talk, it was a good 20-30 mins after business hours since he had to stop to help some customers that had walked in after the doors closed. Even though it was after hours, he was more than willing to talk to me about how he could make sure my car was safe.

Upon pick up Antonio was great again, he was so accommodating and let me pick up a few days after my car was done since my work schedule didn't allow me to pick up the car the day it was ready. He even gave me a coupon for the next time I was in, since I accidentally overshared and made a comment about not being able to afford all of the necessary repairs.

All in all, Antonio was a rock star and really made my experience at this location such a positive one! He is such a valuable member to their team, and is the perfect example of what it means to have good customer service skills! I hope his bosses know how wonderful he is and appreciate him!

Kimberly was my service advisor for my 16’ VW Jetta, I had no appointment and she was able to accommodate me as a walk-in. She also honored a coupon promoted in their website with no questions asked, and got my car serviced within 1-2 hours of drop off for and oil change. Highly recommend working with Kimberly, great customer service rep.

I recently had to have a new fob programmed, and I admit that I was dreading a visit to service, and anticipated that it would take all day. But luckily, Craig was my "advisor," the one who checked me in. I was shocked when he contacted me a couple of hours later and told me that my car was ready for pick up. Craig earned the 5 star rating.

Aldo and Sandra helped me so much. I can not recommend them enough. They both got me a better deal than I even asked for. Which seems unreal! They not only saved me a lot of money but they treated me with empathy, respect, and kindness. I have been with Volkswagen for 6 years now and will keep coming back for the next 100. Armando in service is very knowledgeable and professional. Being in the car business is hard to find people with these qualities. If you need help with your VW don’t waste time and ask for him.

Historically service here was fine. I bought a lemon of a VW from another dealership, but had been bringing it here for service. 3 times in 4 months…

What had been a completely negative experience with owning a terrible VW was completely turned around in getting to work with Bill in the service department. He has incredible customer service and follow through, and is very caring. All traits that are not very common in that line of work. Thank you, Bill for restoring my faith in dealership service centers.

10 stars for Bill, 4 stars for the service dept as a whole based on previous experiences with them.
