Solana Sumptuous Cookies

Omg omg omg no joke best cookies in SD. Try the Solana Beach cookie and the Scarlett letter with fresh raspberries and Peruvian chocolate, and my favorite, the Black Lava toffee, with crunchy butter toffee on top and yummy melts in your mouth semi sweet chocolate.

Ever heard someone tell you that you can’t get enough of a good thing? Well I’m not so sure about that. Take sweets for example. Historically I’ve been more of a “salt” guy, but recently I must admit that I’ve had a bit of sweet tooth developing.

Having finally come clean with that confession (whew, that was therapeutic and I feel much better now, thank you 🤗), I’m learning that sweets can sometimes be overdone and overwhelming.

Thankfully I’ve just been introduced to “Solana Sumptuous Cookies” a purveyor of “semi-sweet” creations.

Offering a dozen cookie and another dozen ice cream/custard pairing opportunities, everything I sampled was packed with flavor, without being so sweet as to make you feel like you can actually hear your teeth rotting immediately before they fall out and evacuate your mouth. (Admittedly, a little over dramatic, but you get the point. 🦷)

Gluten Free and Vegan Friendly options are available, and the color changing spoons (Magenta anyone?) are a fun twist.

I’ve been a Solana Sumptuous cookie fan since they opened . 5 years later they still make the best cookies in the universe. So it makes me sad to read the negative reviews complaining about their pricing which I believe to be very fair when you consider the quality of the ingredients they use specifically their chocolate and organic ingredients. The owner will tell you herself that this is a hobby business for her. No one is getting ripped off and if you feel that way go elsewhere and leave the cookies for the rest of us to enjoy.

Can’t enough about their cookies, wow. I don’t think they make a bad one. You can tell that they use high quality ingredients including a great tasting chocolate. Very friendly with a lot of patience for first timers (us!). The raspberry choc cookie is a must try as it’s very unique and my son said it was the best cookies that he’s ever had besides a scratch cookie made at our bakery / coffee shop before we sold it this past June. (We know and love cookies).

WOW!! The cookies we ordered for our employee Birthdays in November were simply amazing. The flavors were so different and new. The trifecta was a big hit along with the scarlet letter. We will be ordering from them again, often! The communication was great and the delivery was smooth and prompt.

Best cookies around! My family and I always have to stop in for a half dozen when we are in town! Service is always so friendly and cookies are always fresh. We love any of their peanut butter cookies, and definitely try their Solana beach cookie!

The Little Red Feather cookie at Solana Sumptuous Cookies is a new and delicious cookie to get. The perfect balance of sweet makes this cookie my new seasonal favorite.

The semi sweet chocolate chip cookie is the best chocolate chip cookie I’ve ever had! Perfectly baked and delicious. I can’t wait to go back and try the other flavors.

Best cookies with the best variety! We stopped here on our way back to LA and did not regret it. Now a days gourmet cookies are a bit pricey but it is well deserved with the time that it put into it. These cookies are so soft it’s insane! Usually soft cookies tend to be undercooked but these are so delicious and don’t fall apart. We pretty much tried all of them except the ones with peanut butter. Just a personal preference. But I feel like those would be bomb too. Def coming back soon!

Best cookies in San Diego!

I know this place since a friend of us one day (before COVID) take some of this cookies to a party.

Been honest we forgot completely about the address of the place aaaaaand we found them one day we where driving by!

This is a small store with the best cookies in town, the staff were very kind and helpful.

Absolutely scrumptious cookies. Ice cream was delicious as well! The tag team working the store were so nice and patient with us. I believe they were the owners? 10/10 must try again!

THE BEST COOKIES I HAVE EVER HAD. Seriously truly amazing. I live in Orange County and my boss moved to Solana Beach and I had the pleasure of getting to try these cookies and they are truly spectacular. (It's dangerous as they are open late so I can get after work and eat way too many of them.) Marlena the owner is a complete sweetheart and they have handmade ice cream as well. All the staff have been really friendly and the cookies, well they speak for themselves. Real, clean, fresh ingredients. They are not too sweet and really unique and fun flavors. My favorite is the Scarlett letter with organic raspberry(see you get a serving of fruit), and white and dark chocolate, the salted solana beach cookie, peanut butter chocolate, and I eat the rum raisin's for breakfast, best oatmeal raisin I have ever had. Every friend I bring them to absolutely loves them and my husband is English and doesn't like sweet desserts and he loves these. I brought some to a friend for her birthday last night and she started crying and tried to eat a little piece at a time to make it last longer. Support this local business, you won't regret it.

This is my new favorite cookie shop! Their cookies aren't too sweets (I have sweet tooth but I don't like any of my treats too sweets.) - they are just perfectly balanced! I just finished one Marlena and it's so good! Also got some other cookies which I will pause myself to try more later ;-) If you haven't stopped by, please do. My wife and grandkids love these cookies. You can ask them to put a piece of caramel on any of them for a little extra special treat.

I first learned about this sumptuous cookie place over the summer when a colleague of mine drove up to the Bay Area with cookie tin gifts. Initially I thought "who does that?" but she said these were the best cookies on the planet. Boy was was right. The Solana Beach cookie is the best cookie you'll ever have in your life. The coconut, the butter toffee almond, their milk chocolate, and the spiced rum raisin are also decadent. Immediately I called them to ask if they do shipping and I was so happy when they said the ship all over the U.S. I now order them about once a month to treat myself. I can't wait until we see a Sumptuous Cookie shop in the Bay Area.

I highly recommend this beautiful boutique cookie shop. The staff is on top of it. They wash their hands as soon as you come in and in between customers. The cookies are super fresh. They hand craft them right in front of you and bake small batches all day so that they are super fresh. My favorites are the peanut butter and the raspberry cookie with dark chocolate. The churro is also insanely delicious.

These cookies are just so yummy! I have stopped in to buy a dozen or more cookies when down visiting clients and friends from the bay area. They never disappoint n now with ice cream as an addition they hit both of my weak spots especially on those hot summer days; Oh yeah, my clients love them as well. Solano Sumptuous Cookies, keep making cookies that put smiles on everyone's faces!
