Had dinner here with three friends after the Mexican place next door was too busy and had a bit of a wait. There was no wait here so we decided to dine here. Service was nice and the food came out quickly. I ended up getting the pizza which was pretty good. My colleagues got the squid ink pasta and the other one got something else I couldn't remember. But all of us were very happy with our meals. As an Italian place this is very good and I would recommend this. Parking can be had around the back where there is a rather large pay for parking lot.

Superb ambience. Great service. Fabulous wine collection. Friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. And fulfilling and hearty food.

Great for parties since you can book elegant private spaces with great service and wines all around.

The chocolate cake was to die for. And the meat. Paired with their wines.

After 17 years in the US we have finally found a quiet restaurant with delicious food and the service was the best we had ever had !

I appreciate the quietness, as we where able to carry a conversation. it's such an undervalued thing here in the US, where most places are so loud you end up yelling to each other.

We are at the counter. Fresh pasta here is authentic , very tasty and a nice portion size. We had the fish for main course and 2 starters to share. They have a very good wood fired oven which delivers great pizza and garlic bread. Wine list is excellent. They have a great selection of Italian wines by the glass. Makes for a good destination for an unplanned dinner for 2.

We attended a private party here. Lovely setting, and food & service thorough and attentive. Creative passed appetizers & attractive charcuterie boards. Definitely would return for dinner if I didn't live 2000 miles away!

I've been a regular here for years. Love Donato and his entire staff. ❤ Last time I visited also met a friendly couple who not only bought me dinner, but offered to crew me for one of the hardest ultra runs on the planet. So kind!!

I ordered squid ink pasta and wow. I had a similar dish in Sicily once and it was absolutely fabulous. So when I ordered the squid ink pasta here I didn’t expect to be as good, but it was. Service was quick and nice. Dessert was also astounding. Definitely recommend.

Was here for a corporate catered dinner. This is a huge place with a nice private area where we dined. The atmosphere and ambiance was great with some personality to it.
The service and wine was good, the food was amazing.

Food was tasty and presentation was good. I ordered the pork chop and it was a thick cut. Decent size for a hungry man.

They have an extensive menu and a few items are keto friendly.

The most authentic Italian cuisine on the Peninsula. Good service. We've had many family celebrations here. Quiet area in the back which is best when we are with my older parents.

I love Donato, authentic Italian food, and knowledgeable and kind staff. They make you feel at home. Tonight we had Some fabulous fried artichokes and the delicious Casonsei all Bergamasca. Inside, the restaurant is beautiful, but the patio is a plus for dog owners like me.

Since years Donato‘s is our favorite. Their service is great and very friendly and their chef has always a surprise on the menu. This time we had the chance to enjoy their white truffle menu and oh my... it was amazing! Never had sunchoke before in my life but it paired so well with the veal and truffle! My compliments to the chef.

Best place on the Peninsula for authentic Italian cuisine. There is a nice ambiance and the staff is always wonderful. I truly love going during truffle season when Donato offers a delicious truffle, pre-fixed, menu.

This is one of our families favorite restaurants. My brother and I both had our wedding rehearsal dinners here. We often come here for special occasions. The food is always amazing. Donato is always super friendly.

Excellent food and ambiance for a group celebration. We spent about $180/person all in for the chef's tasting menu and wine. Definitely worth it. They also did a good job respecting and accommodating the dietary preferences for some of our guests.

Great restaurant in Redwood City with bar seating overlooking the kitchen + wood fired pizza oven. Fabulous selection of Italian wine and they make a great aperol spritz. Donato Enoteca is having a grand Italian wine & food tasting celebration with live jazz on Saturday July 28 🎷🍷🎷🍷

Great meal sitting outside. Enjoyed the spaghetti carbonara and loved the tiramisu.

4/2023 - participated in a special dinner paired with Paolo Scavini wines. Fantastic food and the wines were outstanding.

I was there with a good friend of the owner. The food was amazing and servers were really knowledgeable about the wine. The atmosphere was electric that night and would definitely visit again. Cheers!

A fine-dine Italian restaurant in the heart of Redwood city(downtown) .....outdoor seating and a perfect Saturday lunch date ....loved the place and the food,thanks to the chef for serving us one of the best pizza and pasta...I know it’s a loved place and a great experience for many but if you haven’t visited, please visit I am sure you will have a good time.
